Lincoln Airport (IATA: LNK, ICAO: KLNK, FAA LID: LNK) (formerly Lincoln Municipal Airport) is a public/military airport five miles northwest of downtown Lincoln, the state capital, in Lancaster County, Nebraska, United States. It is owned by the Lincoln Airport Authority and is the second-largest airport in Nebraska. The 12,901 foot primary runway was a designated emergency landing site for the Space Shuttle, although it was never used as such. The runway can handle heavy military aircraft including the C-5 Galaxy and the Boeing E-4. The airport is also the home of Lincoln Air National Guard Base, an installation for the KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft operated by the 155th Air Refueling Wing (155 ARW) of the Nebraska Air National Guard. Airliners on charter flights by visiting college athletic teams which play the Nebraska Cornhuskers also utilize Lincoln Airport as a primary destination. The airport is home to Duncan Aviation, a family-owned aircraft maintenance and refurbishing company. Duncan Aviation has hangars on the east side of the airport and parts storage on the west side. Lincoln Airport appeared in the 1983 movie Terms of Endearment, the 2008 film Yes Man, and the 2013 animated film Planes.

Capitol Beach Lake (also known as Salt Lake) is a 300 acres (120 ha) private lake in west Lincoln, Nebraska. The lake is managed by the Capitol Beach Community Association.

Nine-Mile Prairie (named for its location 5 miles (8.0 km) west and 4 miles (6.4 km) north of downtown Lincoln) is a 230-acre (0.93 km2) tract of conserved tallgrass prairie in Lancaster County, Nebraska, United States. Except for one small portion of it that was farmed as recently as the 1950s, Nine-Mile Prairie has never been plowed (some of the land has at times been grazed as recently as the 1960s). As such, it is one of the largest areas of virgin tallgrass prairie in the state of Nebraska. A 228-acre portion has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as Nine-Mile Prairie, since 1986.The area was previously owned by the Department of Defense and served as part of a fenced buffer zone around a World War II era bomb storage depot. It was later sold to the City of Lincoln, then from 1966 on managed by the Lincoln Airport Authority, then in 1983 transferred to the University Foundation.Nine-Mile Prairie is now administered by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The university uses it for a variety of research and recreational purposes, especially for studies of prairie ecology. Research on this prairie began in the 1920s when Professor John Ernest Weaver and his students started using it for their studies of prairie plant ecology. In addition to prairie grasses, some of which including big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii) can grow as tall as six feet, the site supports a range of prairie trees, including cottonwoods and honey locust. Invasive sumac plants and (in the absence of fire) eastern juniper trees require control to preserve the original prairie ecology. A total of 392 species of vascular plants and 80 species of birds have been observed at Nine Mile Prairie. Notable species include the federally threatened prairie white fringed orchid (Platanthera praeclara) and the rare regal fritillary butterfly (Speyeria idalia), and it is home to bluebirds and white-tailed deer; herds of bison would have also passed through the site when it was open prairie until the mid-19th century.

Bowlin Stadium is a softball stadium in the Haymarket District of Lincoln, Nebraska. It is less than a mile west of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is the home venue of the school's softball team. Bowlin Stadium is adjacent to the larger Hawks Field, which hosts Nebraska's baseball team. Bowlin Stadium is paty of the Haymarket Park complex, which was constructed in 2001 for $29.5 million.It has a listed capacity of 2,500, which includes 750 chairback seats and all-grass berms down both foul lines. A two-level press box provides seating for up to twenty-five members of the media. The press box includes a media work room and three booths capable of accommodating radio and television representatives.The highest attendance at the stadium was 2,302, a 4–1 Michigan win over Nebraska on April 9, 2016. Nebraska has ranked in the top ten nationally in attendance four times since moving to Bowlin Stadium. Bowlin Stadium hosted NCAA Tournament Regionals in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2013. It was named the SportsTurf Managers Association Field of the Year in 2004.

Hawks Field at Haymarket Park is a baseball stadium in the Haymarket District of Lincoln, Nebraska. It is less than a mile west of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is the home venue of the school's baseball team and the American Association's Lincoln Saltdogs. Hawks Field is adjacent to the smaller Bowlin Stadium, which hosts Nebraska's softball team.

The Mt. Carmel Cemetery is located near North 14th and Elba Streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1886, Samuel and Rachel Polowsky bought property in Lincoln's Belmont section. They later sold it to the Chevra B'nai Jehuda Cemetery Association. The cemetery serves Lincoln's Orthodox and Conservative Jews.

Pinnacle Bank Arena is a 15,500-seat indoor arena in the West Haymarket District of Lincoln, Nebraska. It was completed in 2013 and replaced the Bob Devaney Sports Center as the home of the University of Nebraska's men's and women's basketball teams. A turn back tax to support a $25 million bond was approved by Lincoln voters on May 11, 2010.On December 6, 2011, it was announced that Pinnacle Bank purchased the naming rights to the arena, at a cost of $11.25 million for 25 years. The first event at the new arena was NU's summer commencement ceremony on August 16, 2013, and the first concert was held a month later when Michael Bublé performed to a sold-out crowd on September 13. P!nk, Jason Aldean, Eagles, Elton John, Jay-Z, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Miranda Lambert also performed at PBA in the fall of 2013. Nebraska's basketball teams both played their first game in the arena on November 8, 2013. The women blew out No. 25 UCLA in the afternoon and the men defeated FGCU later that evening.Additionally, the arena is the main venue for Nebraska's state high school basketball tournaments.

Lincoln station (also known as Haymarket station to distinguish it from the previous Lincoln station) is an Amtrak intercity train station in Lincoln, Nebraska, served daily by the California Zephyr. The station opened on June 26, 2012, replacing a station originally built in 1926 by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. The new station is 2,750 square feet (255 m2), with an 800-foot (240 m) platform, and cost $1.3 million.The previous station was abandoned because the construction of the Pinnacle Bank Arena required the re-routing of railway lines away from it. Designed by Sinclair Hille Architects, the building is composed of brick pavilions linked by a central waiting room. A large, curved skylight in the waiting room is meant to evoke the great vaulted spaces of many historic stations. One pavilion houses the restrooms while the other holds the ticket office, baggage room, and a space for train crews. Across from the ticket office is a large photo mural depicting steam and streamlined locomotives against an antique map of Nebraska. A tall, lighted pylon with “Lincoln” spelled vertically down its front serves as a beacon for approaching travelers.

The Nebraska Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (D&E) is a maximum custody, reception, diagnostic, evaluation, assessment, classification and assignment facility for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, D&E was established by the Nebraska State Legislature in 1976 as part of Legislative Bill 984. Construction was completed in June 1979 and the new institution was opened in August 1979 as a 176-bed facility.

Chicago Burlington & Quincy 710 is a preserved 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler" type steam locomotive on display at the former Lincoln station in Lincoln, Nebraska. Built in 1901, No. 710 was built for high speed passenger service. After a rebuild in 1928, the locomotive provided branch line passenger and freight service until its retirement in 1954.The locomotive was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 20, 1997.

Barbara Hibner Soccer Stadium (commonly referred to as Hibner Stadium) is a college soccer stadium on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska. The 2,500-seat stadium opened in 2015 and serves as the primary home venue for Nebraska's soccer program. The complex is named for Barbara Hibner, who served as an athletic administrator at the university from 1976 to 2005.
