Aiken's Tavern Historic District is a historic district in New Castle County, Delaware, comprising the historic center of the village of Glasgow. The district includes the site of Aiken's Tavern, an important landmark at the time of the American Revolutionary War. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

New Castle and Frenchtown Railroad Right-of-Way is a railroad right of way connecting Frenchtown, Cecil County, Maryland, and Porter, New Castle County, Delaware. The New Castle and Frenchtown Railroad originally crossed the Delmarva Peninsula from a wharf in New Castle to a wharf at Frenchtown on the Elk River in Maryland. This part of the right-of-way is abandoned for railroad purposes, although parts of it serve as county roads.On the Cecil County side of this segment of the line, the track bed had been abandoned by 1858. The County Commissioners turned it into "a common neighborhood road," the Cecil Whig reported.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Iron Hill School No. 112C, also known as the Iron Hill Museum, is a historic one-room school building located near Newark in New Castle County, Delaware. It was designed by architect James Oscar Betelle and built in 1923, and is 1+1⁄2-story, rectangular frame, wood-shingled building on a concrete foundation with a medium-pitched gable roof. The building measures 24 feet by 48 feet, and features a pedimented portico centered on the gable end in the Colonial Revival style. The school was funded by Pierre S. du Pont as part of a reform and rebuilding of African-American schools in Delaware, between 1919 and 1928. The school was used until school segregation was abolished, which occurred at Iron Hill in 1965.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.The Iron Hill Museum's exhibits include area iron ore mining, Lenni Lenape history and culture, rocks and minerals from around Delaware and around the world, mounted area wildlife, and a display of fossils found in the state.

Iron Hill is a prominent geographical feature in the vicinity of Newark, Delaware, in the United States. With a topographic prominence of 200 feet (61 m), it is the most prominent hill in Delaware. However, its peak elevation of 328 feet (100 m) means that it is not the state's highest point, which is located in the Piedmont plateau region near Centreville where a peak elevation of 448 feet (137 m) is attained at Ebright Azimuth. The hill is named for its iron deposits, which were mined over a 200-year period during the 18th and 19th centuries. It is part of a New Castle County park known as Iron Hill Park.

James Stewart House, also known as Holly Farm, is a historic home and farm located near Glasgow, New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The oldest section dates to the second half of the 18th century, with additions dating to the 18th and 19th centuries. It consists of three distinct two-story, gable-roofed, brick sections joined at the endwalls, plus a one-story, brick lean-to. The oldest section is the first floor of the central section. Also on the property are contributing outbuildings including a brick smokehouse, shop, a corn crib/granary, two sheds, a privy, a bank barn, a milkhouse, and a machine shed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Cooch's Bridge is a historic district located at Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, Delaware, and is the site of the 1777 Battle of Cooch's Bridge. While there are several modern bridges near the site of the battle, the original bridge was in poor shape in 1777, and did not survive the American Revolution.

The Battle of Cooch's Bridge, also known as the Battle of Iron Hill, was a battle fought on September 3, 1777, between the Continental Army and American militia and primarily German soldiers serving alongside the British Army during the American Revolutionary War. It was the only significant military action during the war on the soil of Delaware (though there were also naval engagements off the state's coast), and it took place about a week before the major Battle of Brandywine. Some traditions claim this as the first battle which saw the U.S. flag.After landing in Maryland on August 25 as part of a campaign to capture Philadelphia, the seat of the Continental Congress, British and German forces under the overall command of General William Howe began to move north. Their advance was monitored by a light infantry corps of Continental Army and militia forces that had based itself at Cooch's Bridge, near Newark, Delaware. On September 3, German troops leading the British advance were met by musket fire from the U.S. light infantry in the woods on either side of the road leading toward Cooch's Bridge. Calling up reinforcements, they flushed the Americans out and drove them across the bridge.
