Rego Center is a shopping mall bordered by the Long Island Expressway, Junction Boulevard, Queens Boulevard, 63rd Drive, and 99th Street in the Rego Park neighborhood of Queens in New York City.

LeFrak City (originally spelled Lefrak and pronounced le-FRAK) is a 4,605-apartment development in the southernmost region of Corona and the easternmost part of Elmhurst, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. It is located between Junction Boulevard to the west, 57th Avenue to the north, 99th Street to the east, and the Long Island Expressway to the south.

Elmhurst Sculpture Garden is an outdoor community garden where artists can exhibit sculptures, multimedia installations, musical and dance performances. The garden is located one block away from the Queens Center Mall and near the Long Island Expressway in the neighborhood of Elmhurst, Queens, New York City. In addition to providing an arts exhibition space, the garden offers a community art program in collaborative sculpting.

Queens Center Mall is an urban shopping mall in Elmhurst, Queens, New York City, on Queens Boulevard between 57th Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard. Queens Center Mall is the largest mall in Queens. It is currently owned and managed by The Macerich Company, who purchased the mall in the 1990s. The mall has a gross leasable area of 966,499 square feet (89,790.7 m2) and 198 stores. It has one of the highest returns in sales per square foot in the United States, with 2002 sales of $953 per square foot, almost triple the national average.The mall is adjacent to the Woodhaven Boulevard station (M and ​R trains) on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. It is across the street from the former St. Johns Hospital and the Rock Church. It is also off Exit 19 on the Long Island Expressway.

Cathedral Preparatory School and Seminary is a Roman Catholic high school and seminary in Elmhurst, Queens in New York City. It is operated by the Diocese of Brooklyn. It is the last full-time high school seminary day school in operation in the United States.

The Woodhaven Boulevard station is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway, consisting of four tracks. Located in Elmhurst, Queens, it is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train at all times except nights, and the E train at night. The station serves the adjacent Queens Center Mall, as well as numerous bus lines. Woodhaven Boulevard was opened on December 31, 1936, as Woodhaven Boulevard–Slattery Plaza. At the time, the station was part of the Independent Subway System. The plaza was demolished in the 1950s, but the name tablets displaying the station's original name were kept. In the 1980s, the Woodhaven Boulevard station was renamed after Queens Center, an adjacent shopping mall. The station was renovated in the 1990s.

The Rego Park Jewish Center (1948) is an Art Deco Streamline Moderne synagogue in the Rego Park neighborhood of Queens, New York City. The architectural firm of Frank Grad & Sons designed the building. The facade features a mosaic by Hungarian-born artist A. Raymond Katz.It is listed on both the New York State and National Register of Historic Places.

Horse Brook is a buried stream located in the neighborhood of Elmhurst in the New York City borough of Queens. Its historic course flows beneath Queens Center Mall, Rego Center Mall, LeFrak City, and the Long Island Expressway, before emptying into Flushing Creek in present-day Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Flushing Creek is a tributary of the East River. Horse Brook's headwaters were near Kneeland Avenue and Codwise Place. Horse Brook was first mentioned at an annual town meeting in 1662, where it was voted that “whosoever has cats or dogs or hogs lying dead in any place to offend their neighbors they must bury them or throw them into the creek.”The only remaining traces of Horse Brook today are the mega-blocks on the map that avoided development in the early 20th century. These blocks, which include the sites of Queens Center Mall and LeFrak City, remained vacant until the 1960s. A small park called Horsebrook Triangle, at 56th/Justice Avenues and 90th Street in Elmhurst, is located atop the approximate location of the buried stream. Libra Triangle, another small park at Justice Avenue and Broadway, is also located atop the stream.

Queens Place is an urban shopping mall in Elmhurst, Queens, New York City. Just northwest of the larger Queens Center, it is located on Queens Boulevard between 55th and 56th Avenues. The building was constructed in 1965 as Macy's and was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was later converted to Stern's, due to Macy's of Elmhurst moving into Queens Center, as part of Macy's dissolving of Abraham & Straus, in 1994, and then, as a result of Macy's dissolving Stern's in 2001, closed by Federated Department Stores. Today its flagship stores are Best Buy, DSW, Inc., and Target, and it contains many smaller stores such as Red Lobster, Dunkin Donuts, and Mrs. Fields' Cookies.

Rego Park is a former Long Island Rail Road station. It was made of wood, unlike most other stations that were concrete. The station opened in May 1928 with two side platforms outside the two Rockaway Beach Branch tracks that bracketed the four-track Main Line, so only Rockaway trains stopped there. After the Rockaway Trestle fire in 1950, the line was closed station by station. The station closed on June 8, 1962, one day before the Rockaway Beach Branch was abandoned. Nothing remains at the site today.

Newtown High School is a high school in Elmhurst, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. The school occupies an entire city block bound by 48th and 50th Avenues, and 90th and 91st Streets. Its student body consists of approximately 1,878 students. The school offers college courses, advanced placement classes in English Language and Literature, Biology, Spanish Language and Literature, Chinese Language, Calculus BC, and Human Geography, among others; a business/technology program; a pre-engineering/technology preparation; and an art program. Newtown High School has teams in a variety of sports, both co-ed and broken down by gender. The sports offered include wrestling, soccer, baseball, cross-country, indoor track, outdoor track, softball, bowling, handball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, among others. Newtown High School dates from 1897, having been constructed on the site of a small wooden schoolhouse built in 1866. The present building was designed by C. B. J. Snyder in a Flemish Renaissance Revival style between 1917 and 1921, with later additions in 1930–1931 and 1956–1958. The building is a New York City designated landmark.
