Bethel Springs is a city in McNairy County, Tennessee. The population was 742 at the 2020 census.

Purdy, Tennessee is a rural unincorporated community 3.5 mi (5.6 km) northeast of Selmer in McNairy County, Tennessee. Until 1890, Purdy was the county seat of McNairy County. Failed development in the 1850s kept the community rural thereafter, without industries, major business ventures or tourism. During the Civil War the town was a crossroads, but during the war damage was done to the town which led to its decline.

The North Fork of the Forked Deer River is formed in Gibson County to the south of Chapel Hill Road near Medina and flows to the northwest before entering Dyer County. Here it accepts the flow from the Middle Fork and then joins with the South Fork to form the Forked Deer River.

Freed–Hardeman University is a private university associated with the Churches of Christ and located in Henderson, Tennessee, USA. It is primarily undergraduate and residential, enrolling full-time students of traditional college age. The university also serves some commuting, part-time and adult students on-campus and through distance-learning programs. The university offers a limited number of masters' and doctoral-level graduate programs including Bible, business, counseling and education. Arts, science and professional degrees are conferred. The university is governed by a board of trustees, all of whom are required to be members of Churches of Christ. Courses are offered by 12 academic departments organized into five colleges: Arts and Sciences, Biblical Studies, Business, Education and Behavioral Sciences and the Honors College.

Chester County High School is a high school (grades 9–12) in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee. It is the only high school operated by Chester County School District and is fed by Chester County Junior High School.

The Chester County Courthouse is an historic county courthouse building located at 133 East Main Street, Court Square in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee. Built in 1913 in the Classical Revival style of architecture. it is the third courthouse that Chester County has had, the previous ones having burned down. It is a two-story redbrick structure with a colonnaded front portico and a cupola in the center of its gabled roof. The original building has been added onto with an architecturally complementary extension on the rear. In 1973, it was featured in the movie Walking Tall, based on the life of McNairy County sheriff Buford Pusser. On March 26, 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The National Teachers' Normal and Business College Administration Building, at 158 E. Main St. in Henderson, Tennessee, was built in 1908. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.It was designed by Memphis architect Hubert T. McGee in Renaissance and/or Italianate style.It was a main building of the National Teachers' Normal and Business College, which was incorporated in 1907 as a successor of the West Tennessee Christian College, itself the successor of the Henderson Male and Female Institute. A. G. Freed served as president and N. B. Hardeman served as vice-president; the college was renamed for them in 1919 and eventually became the Freed-Hardeman University in 1990. The entire structure (aka, Old Main) underwent a thorough renovation which was completed in 2019.
