Hässleholm (older Danish: Hasselholm) is a locality and the seat of Hässleholm Municipality, Scania County, Sweden with 18,500 inhabitants in 2010.

Hässleholm Municipality (Hässleholms kommun) is a municipality in Scania County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Hässleholm. The present municipality was created in 1974 when the former City of Hässleholm, itself incorporated in 1914, was amalgamated with seven surrounding municipalities. In 1863, there were 29 local government units, all rural, in the area. The municipal coat of arms was granted in 1920 and registered for the new municipality in 1974. The cross symbolizes the railway junction, which is the origin of the town Hässleholm. The hazelnuts allude to the name Hässleholm, which roughly translates as "Hazel-isle".

Hässleholm railway station is located in the city of Hässleholm, Sweden, along the Southern Main Line. Railway traffic started in 1860. The station building in brick was built in 1921. The first proper station building was opened in 1863, although it during the years got too small. City buses and regional buses stop nearby. Hässleholm is a railway town and the present midtown was a pure rural area before the railway construction. The station is located around 100 metres (330 ft) from the traditional midpoint of the city.

The Vätteryd grave field (Swedish: Vätteryds gravfält), also known as Vätterydshed, is an Iron Age grave field in Hässleholm Municipality in Scania, Sweden. The site is located in a heathfield between the localities of Tjörnarp and Sösdala. The grave field consists of 183 menhirs, 15 stone ships — the largest 25 m long and 8 m wide — and 2 stone circles. Many of the stone ships are so damaged that all that remains are parts smaller than half the original size. Vätteryd, with about 600 menhirs, has been considered one of the largest grave fields in Scandinavia. Between 1955 and 1957, an archaeological survey was made of part of the burial ground. Research indicated the solitary stones constituted fire pits that were built between about the years 400 and 900 AD. The grave goods found — including bronze jewelry, glass and bronze pearls, and bronze wire — were taken to various museums in Stockholm.

In 1999, a documentary film portraying some of the town's inhabitants was produced. The documentary was called Plötsligt i Vinslöv (All of a sudden in Vinslöv).
