Hässleholm railway station is located in the city of Hässleholm, Sweden, along the Southern Main Line. Railway traffic started in 1860. The station building in brick was built in 1921. The first proper station building was opened in 1863, although it during the years got too small. City buses and regional buses stop nearby. Hässleholm is a railway town and the present midtown was a pure rural area before the railway construction. The station is located around 100 metres (330 ft) from the traditional midpoint of the city.

The cross symbolizes the railway junction, which is the origin of the town Hässleholm. The hazelnuts allude to the name Hässleholm, which roughly translates as "Hazel-isle".

The Vätteryd grave field (Swedish: Vätteryds gravfält), also known as Vätterydshed, is an Iron Age grave field in Hässleholm Municipality in Scania, Sweden. The site is located in a heathfield between the localities of Tjörnarp and Sösdala. The grave field consists of 183 menhirs, 15 stone ships — the largest 25 m long and 8 m wide — and 2 stone circles. Many of the stone ships are so damaged that all that remains are parts smaller than half the original size. Vätteryd, with about 600 menhirs, has been considered one of the largest grave fields in Scandinavia. Between 1955 and 1957, an archaeological survey was made of part of the burial ground. Research indicated the solitary stones constituted fire pits that were built between about the years 400 and 900 AD. The grave goods found — including bronze jewelry, glass and bronze pearls, and bronze wire — were taken to various museums in Stockholm.

The Höör Sandstone is a geologic formation in Skåne County, southern Sweden. It is Early Jurassic (Hettangian-Pliensbachian) in age. This unit outcrops in central Skane on a few isolated exposures, being traditionally subdivided into the lower “millstone” (“kvarnstenen”) and the upper “buildingstone”. The lowermost layers where also claimed to host Rhaetian strata, however latter works suggested that the layers devolved as red beds, were part of the new Hörby Formation, thus delimitating the Höör sandstone to the lower Jurassic. It has been assumed to be limited to Hettangian-Sinemurian layers, yet recent palynological analysis suggest the uppermost section is of Pliensbachian age, underlying and maybe interacting with the younger volcanic deposits. The Höör sandstone represents a mostly fluvial unit with a rich collection of fossil plants, yet also includes brackish bivalves in some layers, pointing to marine ingressions locally.
