Gangnam station

Gangnam District (Korean: 강남구; Hanja: 江南區; RR: Gangnam-gu; IPA: [ka̠ŋna̠m.gu]) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul, South Korea. The term Gangnam translates to "South of the [Han] River". Gangnam District is the third largest district in Seoul, with an area of 39.5 km2 (15.3 sq mi). As of the 2017 census, Gangnam District had a population of 561,052. There is a high concentration of wealth in the district, with prices for an apartment as of 2020 nearly double those in the rest of Seoul. Gangnam District is part of Gangnam School District Eight, along with the Seocho District. This district shares half of Gangnam-daero Gangnam Station area with Seocho District, which is one of the most crowded places in South Korea.

The Samsung Town (Korean: 삼성타운) is a major office park in Seocho-gu in Seoul, South Korea. It serves as the IT and electronics hub for the multinational corporation Samsung. The building has a floor area of 110,800 m² with 20,000 resident employees, and President Lee Kun-hee's office was located on the 42nd floor of Building C.Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, and Samsung Life Insurance have built three buildings which are 44, 34 and 32 stories respectively. Samsung Town was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. Samsung Electronics and Samsung C&T have already begun to move into the houses while Samsung Life Insurance is leasing its property to Samsung Electronics and other affiliates.

The Seocho Garak Tower East is a remarkable skyscraper located in Seoul, South Korea. Construction of the 130.1 m (427 ft), 24-storey building began in 2008 and it was finished in 2011. The building was designed by ArchitectenConsort.

Boutique Monaco is a 117-metre, 27-storey residential skyscraper in the ward of Seocho-gu in Seoul. The working title of this building was "Missing Matrix"; it was designed by architect Minsuk Cho, and has 172 units. It was the recipient of the 2008 Silver Emporis Skyscraper Award, beating the much taller 101-storey Shanghai World Financial Center.

Kukkiwon (Korean: 국기원; Hanja: 國技院), also known as World Taekwondo Headquarters, and home of the World Taekwondo Academy, is where the official taekwondo governing organization was established by the South Korean government. It is supervised by the International Sports Division of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

Sinnonhyeon Station is a railway station on Line 9 of the Seoul Subway located by the Kyobo Tower sageori in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It was the southern terminus of Line 9 from 2009 to March 2015, when the line was extended to Sports Complex station. Gangnam Station and Nonhyeon Station are near here. It will become a transfer station to the Shinbundang Line in 2022. The section of Gangnam Boulevard from exit No.5 of this station to exit No.2 of Gangnam Station of Line 2 is designated as a smoke-free zone by the Gangnam District office.

Gangnam Finance Center, formerly known as Star Tower or I-Tower, is a 204 metres (669 ft) skycraper in Seoul, South Korea.It was constructed in the period 1995–2001. It is the 33rd tallest building in South Korea and 9th or 10th tallest (sources vary) building in Seoul. It has 45 surface floors, and 8 underground ones.

Yeoksam Station is a station on Line 2 of the Seoul Subway. It is located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

GS Tower, also called GS Gangnam Tower (formerly LG Kangnam Tower), is a 38-story (173 meters) modern skyscraper located in the Gangnam-gu area of Seoul, South Korea. It was completed in 1997 and is a mixed-use facility consisting of an art hall, performing arts theatre, corporate exhibition hall, offices, retail, restaurants, health club and parking. Given the LG Arts Center's location within the building and urban neighborhood, close to the Seoul subway lines and major roads it was designed to provide a soundproof space.

Eonju Station is a Seoul Metropolitan Subway station on Line 9. It opened in March 2015.

The Nonhyeon-dong massacre was a mass murder that occurred in the Gangnam-gu ward of Seoul, South Korea on October 20, 2008, when 30-year-old Jeong Sang-jin (정상진) set fire in a goshiwon and slashed several women with a sashimi knife. A total of six people died in the incident and seven more were injured. Jeong was sentenced to death on May 12, 2009.

The Seoul National University of Education (SNUE) is a public university in Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea, which provides specialized training for future public elementary school teachers in South Korea. Founded in May 1946 under the name of Kyunggi Public Normal School, the university is the first national university that specializes in elementary school teacher training. The university offers graduate and undergraduate programs, and has an attached elementary school.
