The Museum of the American Gangster is a two-room museum located at 80 St. Mark's Place in the East Village, Manhattan New York City. Opened in 2010, it is located upstairs from a former speakeasy in a neighborhood once frequented by Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, and John Gotti. Its Exhibition of the American Gangster was "founded to preserve newspapers, photographs and other original documents from the Prohibition Era". The museum's collection of memorabilia of organized crime in America includes John Dillinger's death masks, bullets from the Saint Valentine's Day massacre investigation, and a bullet from the shooting of Pretty Boy Floyd. The former speakeasy has a history of its own; the building is the former residence of Walter Scheib. It is also possible to tour the old speakeasy.July 24, 2010 marked the twentieth anniversary of the release of Goodfellas. This milestone was celebrated with a private screening hosted by Henry Hill for a select group of invitees at the Museum of the American Gangster.Temporarily closed due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the museum announced in December 2021 that it was in danger of closing permanently if it lost the space it shared with Theatre 80.

Theatre 80 is an Off-Broadway theater located at 80 St. Mark's Place in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. It is owned and operated by Lorcan Otway, who restored and renovated the building with his father and opened it as a theater in the 1960s. The theater was home to a number of productions, including the 1967 premiere of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown whose revenue helped the Otways keep the theater. By 1971 it became a movie theater.Prior to its current status as a cabaret-style theater, the building, which also houses the Museum of the American Gangster, was a nightclub during Prohibition.The Otways filed for bankruptcy on December 30, 2021, to prevent the sale of the building amid controversy with their mortgage lender.

Club 57 was a nightclub located at 57 St. Mark's Place in the East Village, New York City during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was originally founded by Stanley Zbigniew Strychacki and enhanced by nightclub performer Ann Magnuson, Susan Hannaford, and poet Tom Scully. It was a hangout and venue for performance and visual artists and musicians, including The Cramps, Madonna, Keith Haring, Cyndi Lauper, Charles Busch, Klaus Nomi, The B-52s, RuPaul, Futura 2000, Tron von Hollywood, Kenny Scharf, Frank Holliday, John Sex, Wendy Wild, The Fall, April Palmieri, Robert Carrithers, The Fleshtones, The Fuzztones, Joey Arias, Lypsinka, Michael Musto, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Fab Five Freddy, Jacek Tylicki, and to a lesser extent, Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The Slovenian Church of St. Cyril in New York is a historic religious institution located in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan and Slovenia's cultural center in New York City. It holds historical significance for Slovenia and its people, having played a pivotal role for over a century, including during Slovenia's independence. It is currently the only place in New York where Slovenians meet. Since no Slovenian businesses have offices in New York, apart from the country's delegation to the United Nations, it stands as the city's sole Slovenian location.This church has served as a focal point for the Slovenian immigrant community in New York City for many years, offering a place of worship and cultural connection.

8BC was a nightclub, performance space, and art gallery located at 337 East 8th Street in the East Village neighborhood of New York, New York. Founded in 1983, the space closed in late 1985.

Eighth Street was a local station on the demolished IRT Second Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City, located at the intersection of Eighth Street and First Avenue. It had two levels. The lower level had two tracks and two side platforms and the upper level had one track that served express trains. The next stop to the north was 14th Street. The next stop to the south was First Street. The station closed on June 13, 1942.

Hebrew National Orphan Home (HNOH) was an orphanage in Manhattan in New York City. It was founded on December 5, 1912, when a group raised $64 toward establishing a Jewish orthodox home for the care of orphaned and destitute Jewish boys. On October 14, 1913, a committee of the Bessarabian Verband, a group of Romanian Jews, paid the first installment of $400 for the premises at 57 East 7th Street between First and Second Avenues – in what was then the Lower East Side and is now the East Village. On June 7, 1914 HNOH House officially opened with accommodations for 50 boys. Later, the home bought a second tenement that backed onto the original building, creating an enclosed courtyard, and doubling the home's capacity to 100.On July 15, 1919 a facility on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers, New York was purchased for $300,000, and the home moved there on July 26, 1920. In 1947, it changed its name to Homecrest then it merged with the Gustave Hartman home for children in 1956 under the name of Hartman-Homecrest and in early 1962 Hartman-Homecrest was merged into the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA) of New York and the name HNOH after 60 years, was no longer used.

Barbara Feinman Millinery is a custom hattery in New York City's East Village. Feinman hats are made by two other milliners using a 100-year-old sewing machine and various materials.

Theater for the New City, founded in 1971 and known familiarly as "TNC", is one of New York City's leading off-off-Broadway theaters, known for radical political plays and community commitment. Productions at TNC have won 43 Obie Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. TNC currently exists as a 4-theater complex in a 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m2) space at 155 First Avenue, in the East Village of Manhattan.

Kyo Ya was a Japanese restaurant in New York City. The restaurant had received a Michelin star.

Performance Space New York, formerly known as Performance Space 122 or P.S. 122, is a non-profitable arts organization founded in 1980 in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan in an abandoned public school building.

The Ukrainian National Home, is located at 140-142 Second Avenue (between Ninth St. and St. Mark's Place) in Manhattan's East Village. The building, which currently operates as a restaurant known as the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant, dates back as far as 1830, and has served as a private home, YMCA location, and the Stuyvesant Casino. UK rock band New Order played one of their first shows there on November 18, 1981.
