Lake Forest High School (Delaware)

Lake Forest School District, in Kent County, Delaware, was created when funding was not sufficient for three proximal districts (Harrington School District, Felton School District, and Frederica School District) so the three were merged to create a new combined district in 1969. Its headquarters are in an unincorporated area of Kent County with a Felton postal address.It includes Bowers, Felton, Harrington, Viola, most of Riverview, most of Frederica, and some of Woodside East.

It was built about 1796, and consists of a 2+1⁄2-story, stuccoed brick main house, with a 2+1⁄2-story braced frame wing. The house is in the late-Georgian style. It features a gable roof with an interesting modillioned box cornice and an exterior chimney with sloped weatherings and corbelled lip. It was the home of Delaware Governor George Truitt (1756-1818).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Thomas B. Coursey House is a historic home located north of Coursey Pond near Felton, Kent County, Delaware. It was built in 1867, and is a three-story, five-bay, low hip-roofed, center-hall passage, single-pile, rectangular-plan, large frame house. It has Italianate-style design details. Attached to the main house are a two-story, shed-roofed north wing and to the east there is a recently added one-story, shed-roofed wing. It was the home of Thomas B. Coursey, a prominent figure in 19th century Kent County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
