WYYY (94.5 FM "Y94") is a commercial radio station licensed to Syracuse and serving Central New York. It broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format, switching to all Christmas music for much of November and December. It is owned by iHeartMedia and has its radio studios and offices on Plum Street in Syracuse along with sister stations WBBS, WHEN, WSYR, WSYR-FM and WWHT. Evenings, WYYY carries Delilah, a call-in and dedications show, syndicated from co-owned Premiere Networks. The station also carries the weekly syndicated Ellen K show on Saturday mornings. While most area FM stations are limited to 50,000 watts or less, WYYY is grandfathered at an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is on Sentinel Heights Road in Lafayette, New York, near Interstate 81. WYYY broadcasts using HD Radio technology. Its HD-2 digital subchannel runs an all-80s format known as "iHeart80s". The HD-3 subchannel runs "The Breeze," iHeart's soft adult contemporary music service.

The Southwood Two-Teacher Schoolhouse is a historic school building located on Barker Hill Road just south of East Seneca Turnpike, in the Southwood neighborhood of the town of Onondaga, New York. Further east along the turnpike is the hamlet of Jamesville, New York. The two-teacher school was built in 1937–1938, and is a one-story, yellow brick Art Deco style building, but the ivy hides any architectural details that would show that. The rectangular building has a full concrete block basement and is topped by a flat roof. It remained in use as a school until 1966.: 5, 8 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.It now serves as a restaurant called "School and Vine."

Jamesville Beach Park is an Onondaga County park in LaFayette, New York, just south of the hamlet of Jamesville. A lifeguard oversees the 100 yards of waterfront that includes both shallow and deep areas.

Nedrow is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the town of Onondaga in Onondaga County, New York, United States. The population was 2,244 at the 2010 census. It is a suburb of Syracuse, whose southern border it adjoins. The name "Nedrow" is the founder's name Worden, spelled backwards.

LaFayette is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 Census, its population was 4,910. The town is named after the Marquis de Lafayette, a key figure in the French and American revolutions, and widely considered a national hero of France and the United States. LaFayette is in the southern part of Onondaga County, south of Syracuse.

Clark Reservation State Park is a state park in Onondaga County, New York. The park is in Jamesville, NY, in the Town of DeWitt, south of Syracuse. It was the site of a large waterfall formed by melting glacial ice at the end of the last Ice Age; the plunge basin at the base of the old falls is now a small lake. James Macfarlane described the area in 1879, "On approaching the lake from the turnpike on the south side, the tourist is startled at finding himself, without any notice, on the brink of a yawning gulf, precisely like that of the Niagara River below the Falls, and nearly as deep." Clark Reservation is also noted for its many ferns; it harbors the largest population in the U.S. of American hart's tongue, which is so rare that it was declared endangered in the U.S. in 1989.The park is 377 acres (153 ha) in size, and logs over 160,000 visitors per year. It encompasses the cliff, plunge basin and gorge of the ancient waterfall, and a number of secondary ravines and basins. Glacier Lake, which occupies the plunge basin of the former waterfall, is 6.2 acres (2.5 ha) in size and 52 feet (16 m) deep; it is a rare meromictic lake in which the deep waters don't mix annually with the surface waters. The surrounding limestone cliffs are 180 feet (55 m) high. Hiking trails skirt a half-ring of cliffs surrounding the lake, as well as traversing the rugged limestone over which the old river flowed. A Nature Center is operated by the Friends of Clark Reservation, a nonprofit organization staffed completely by volunteers. The Center has exhibits about the park's geology and natural history, and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In addition to staffing the Center, the Friends group also organizes events and retains a naturalist each summer to guide hikes and create nature programming for the public in the park. The park also offers fishing, hiking trails, picnic tables and pavilions, and a playground.

Jamesville Reservoir is a lake located by Jamesville, New York. Fish species present in the lake include bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, black bullhead, tiger muskie, rock bass, smallmouth bass, pickerel, walleye, and pumpkinseed sunfish. There is carry down access located at the Jamesville Beach Park with the purchase of a day use fee.

The 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship (WILC) was the fourth international box lacrosse championship organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse every four years. The 2015 WILC was hosted by the Onondaga Nation in the United States, south of Syracuse, New York, and took place between September 18 and 27. Canada defeated the host Iroquois Nationals 12–8 in the gold medal game, the same finals match-up featured in the first three indoor championships. Since the WILC started in 2003, Team Canada is undefeated with an overall record of 23–0.In the bronze medal game, the United States beat first-time participant Israel 15–4. Canadian Shawn Evans was the tournament MVP, scoring 10 goals and 25 assists in 5 games.Thirteen countries participated, 5 more than in 2011, including first-time competitors Finland, Germany, Israel, Serbia, Switzerland, and Turkey. Most games were held on the Onondaga Nation at the Onondaga Nation Arena and the newly built $6.5 million Onondaga Nation Fieldhouse, although the Iroquois' games versus Canada and the United States were held at War Memorial Arena in Syracuse. Over 10,000 fans attended the gold and bronze medal games in the Carrier Dome.The opening ceremonies in the sold-out War Memorial Arena featured a light show about the Haudenosaunee creation story and traditional dancing. After the Iroquois Nationals were not allowed to use their Haudenosaunee passports to travel to England in 2010 due to new security requirements, many international players were interested in getting their passports stamped by the Onondaga Nation. The documentary Spirit Game: Pride of a Nation explains the meaning of lacrosse to the Iroquois people and covers the Iroquois Nationals in the 2015 WILC, featuring brothers Lyle and Miles Thompson.

The population was 2,244 at the 2010 census. The Onondaga Reservation is a politically independent entity, as the nation is federally recognized by the United States government. The Onondaga Nation has reached some accommodations with New York State on jurisdictional issues.

The Saint Mark's Church in Jamesville, New York is a Gothic Revival-style church built in 1878. It no longer functions as a church, and instead houses the Jamesville Community Museum. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.The church occupies a prominent position in the center of the hamlet of Jamesville, at the corner of E. Seneca Turnpike and Apulia Road. The Seneca Turnpike was the first highway in the region.
