Haizhu Bridge

Renmin Subdistrict (Chinese: 人民街道; pinyin: Rénmín Jiēdào; Jyutping: Jan4-man4 gaai1-dou6) is a subdistrict of the Yuexiu District in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, southern China. As of 2020, it administers the following 15 residential neighborhoods: Anyeli Community (安业里社区) Xingxianli Community (兴贤里社区) Haizhushi Community (海珠石社区) Guocaixi Community (果菜西社区) Qinglanli Community (青兰里社区) Jinghaimen Community (靖海门社区) Taipingtongjin Community (太平通津社区) Mupaitou Community (木排头社区) Shijiangjun Community (石将军社区) Dadezhong Community (大德中社区) Daxinzhong Community (大新中社区) Yudaihao Community (玉带濠社区) Sanfuqian Community (三府前社区) Zhuangyuanfang Community (状元坊社区) Yidexi Community (一德西社区)Shijiangjun, Dadezhong, Daxinzhong, Yudaihao, Sanfuqian, Zhuangyuanfang and Yidexi were administered by Daxin Subdistrict (大新街道) before it was abolished in 2013.

Haizhu Square (Chinese: 海珠广场; pinyin: Hǎizhū Guǎngchǎng) is a public square located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China. It is located on the riverfront. Its centrepiece is the Guangzhou Liberation Statue, erected in 1959. In 1963 the square and its environs were named as one of the Eight Sights of Guangzhou.Haizhu Square Station of the Guangzhou Metro is located in the square.

The Hotel Landmark Canton (Chinese: 華廈大酒店) is a 4 star hotel in downtown Guangzhou, China. It is located on the banks of the Pearl River, beside the Haizhu Plaza.

Jiefang Bridge (Chinese: 解放大桥, literally “Liberation Bridge”) is a bridge in Guangzhou, China. The bridge connects the Haizhu District with the Yuexiu District, and is one of nine bridges connecting Haizhu with downtown Guangzhou and the business districts. On its north side is Jiefang South Rd (解放南路) and on its south side is Tongqing Rd (同庆路). Guangzhou's annual Dragon Boat Race takes place between Jiefang Bridge and Renmin Bridge.

Haizhu Square Station (simplified Chinese: 海珠广场站; traditional Chinese: 海珠廣場站; Jyutping: hoi2 zyu1 gwong2 coeng4 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Hóijyū Gwóngchèuhng Jaahm) is an interchange station of Line 2 and Line 6 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 29 December 2002. It is situated underneath Guangzhou Qiyi Road, Yide Road and Taikang Road in Yuexiu District. It is near Haizhu Square, Guangzhou Hotel (广州酒店) and Hotel Canton Landmark (华夏大酒店).

Guangzhou Hotel (Chinese: 广州宾馆) is a hotel in Guangzhou, China. It was constructed in 1968 amid the Cultural Revolution. With 27 floors, on opening it surpassed Park Hotel in Shanghai as the tallest building in China.

The Battle of Canton was fought between British and Chinese forces at the city of Canton (Guangzhou), Guangdong province, China on 23 October to 5 November 1856 during the Second Opium War.

Tianzi Wharf (traditionally Gov. Wharf, Jyutping: Tin1 zi6 maa5 tau4), also known as 'The First Wharf of Canton', is the oldest wharf on the Pearl River in Guangzhou, China. The wharf is at the intersection of Beijing Road and Yanjiang Road Middle. It's currently a wharf of the Guangzhou Water Bus, and serves the ferries between Fangzhi Wharf and several water bus routes. It's also a terminal wharf of Pearl River Night Cruise.

Yide Lu Station (Chinese: 一德路站; pinyin: Yīdé Lù Zhàn; Jyutping: jat1dak1 lou6 zaam6) is a station on Line 6 of the Guangzhou Metro located in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou. It began operation on 28 January 2015.

The Guangzhou Metro (simplified Chinese: 广州地铁; traditional Chinese: 廣州地鐵; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Dìtiě; Jyutping: Gwong²zau¹ Dei⁶tit³) ([kwàŋ.ʈʂóʊ.tî.tʰjè] and [kʷɔːŋ˧˥.tsɐu˥.tei˨.tʰiːt̚˧]) is the rapid transit system of the city of Guangzhou in the Guangdong Province of China. It is operated by the state-owned Guangzhou Metro Corporation and was the fourth metro system to be built in mainland China, after those of Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. The earliest efforts to build an underground rapid transit system in Guangzhou date back to 1960. In the two decades that followed, the project was brought into the agenda five times but ended up abandoned each time due to financial and technical difficulties. Preparation of what would lead to today's Guangzhou Metro did not start until the 1980s, and it was not until 1993 that construction of the first line, Line 1, officially began. Line 1 opened four years later in 1997 with five stations in operation.As of 1 May 2022, Guangzhou Metro has 16 lines in operation, namely: Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 5, Line 6, Line 7, Line 8, Line 9, Line 13, Line 14, Line 18, Line 21, Line 22, Guangfo Line, and Zhujiang New Town APM reaching both the urban core and surrounding suburbs. Guangfo Line connects Guangzhou and Foshan and is the first metro line between two cities in the country. Daily service hours start at 6:00 am and end at midnight and daily ridership averages over 7 million. Having delivered 3.029 billion rides in 2018, Guangzhou Metro is the third busiest metro system in the world and the 3rd largest in terms of length, after the metro systems of Beijing and Shanghai. Guangzhou Metro operates 320 stations and 652.81 km (405.6 mi) of lines. Extensive development of the metro network has been planned for the next decade, with construction started on Line 10, Line 11, and Line 12, and extensions of Line 3, Line 5, Line 8, Line 13, and Line 14, Line 18, Line 22, as well as the extension of Line 7 into Shunde District of Foshan. Some of the system's lines were designed to operate much faster than traditional metro lines, with stations far apart and faster trainsets regularly running at 160 kilometres per hour (99 mph). Lines 18 and 22 are the fastest metro lines in China, a title previously held by Line 11 of the Shenzhen Metro.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, properly the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and also known as the Stone Chamber or Stone House by locals, is a Gothic Revival Roman Catholic cathedral in Guangzhou, China. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Guangzhou. The cathedral is located at 56 Yide Road (in Chinese: 一德路56号), on the north bank of the Pearl River at the heart of the old town. It is one of the few cathedrals in the world to be entirely built of granite, including all the walls, pillars, and the twin towers.
