Les Mines

Port Williams is a Canadian village in Kings County, Nova Scotia. It is located on the north bank of the Cornwallis River, named after Edward Cornwallis, first governor of Nova Scotia. As of 2021, the population was 1,110.

Greenwich is a rural community located in eastern Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was previously known as Noggins Corner, as travellers could procure a noggin of rum at a local public house. The community is bordered to the south by the Wolfville Ridge, immediately west of the town of Wolfville and east of the village of New Minas. It is also bordered on the north by the south bank of the Cornwallis River (also known as Chijekwtook), opposite the village of Port Williams.

Prescott House Museum is a historic house and gardens located in Starr's Point, Nova Scotia which is part of the Nova Scotia Museum. Built between 1812 and 1816 by Charles Ramage Prescott as the centrepiece of his country estate called Acacia Grove, it is one of the best preserved Georgian houses in Canada.

Landmark East is a non-profit independent boarding and day school located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada for students from around the world with language and learning disabilities including dyslexia, ADHD, and non-verbal learning. Since 1979, Landmark East has helped thousands of domestic and international students reach their full potential. Students benefit from a low student:teacher ratio and class sizes of 6–8. Landmark East School provides an intensive, highly structured academic program for its students in a caring, highly supportive environment.

The Wellington Dyke is an agricultural dyke in Kings County, Nova Scotia protecting over 3,000 acres (12 km2) of farmland along the Canard River between the communities of Starr's Point and Canard in Nova Scotia, Canada. Built by local farmers, it was begun in 1817 and completed in 1825. Today the dyke is owned by the Department of Agriculture of Nova Scotia in partnership with the farmers of the Wellington Marsh Body.

Horton High School is a public high school located in Wolfville Ridge, Nova Scotia, Canada. It succeeded Horton District High School (1959-1998). As of 2024, the school principal is Jodye Routledge. The athletic teams are the 'Griffins'. In 2015, there were approximately 867 students enrolled in grades 9–12 at the school. The school is fully networked and offers a less than 1.9:1 student-to-computer ratio. The school was a part of Canada's SchoolNet Network of Innovative Schools program which is no longer active.

Andrew H. McCain Arena (formerly Acadia Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. It can seat 1,800 spectators for ice events and an extra 1,000 on the ice surface for other events. It was built in 1988, and features an Olympic sized ice surface. It is home to the Acadia Axemen ice hockey team. Has also hosted exhibition games featuring Team Canada, NHL old-timers and the American Hockey League. Curling Canada has held trials for its winter Olympic teams at the arena. The Soviets were based at the site for the 1990 World Figure Skating Championships, which were held in Halifax. The arena has also hosted many concerts, and the eclipse scene from Dolores Claiborne was filmed here.

Raymond Field is a multi-purpose stadium in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. It is the home of the Acadia University Axemen football and soccer teams as well as the Acadia Axewomen soccer and rugby teams. It can seat 3,000 (5,000 with standing room), and was built in 1966. In 2007, the natural grass was replaced with FieldTurf and the running track was replaced with an 8-lane all-weather surface.

The Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens (HIBG) is a botanical garden located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada, on the campus of Acadia University. The HIBG is considered a tourist destination in the Annapolis Valley. Within the HIBG are nine native habitats of the Acadian Forest Region, a Medicinal and Food Garden, Conservatory, Formal Walled Garden, and Experimental Garden. The HIBG also serves as a trailhead for 1.5 km of woodland trails. The Harriet Irving Botanical Garden is connected to the K.C. Irving Environmental Centre (KCIC), with laboratories, greenhouses, and controlled environmental facilities. The HIBG and KCIC run educational and recreational programs for the public. The staff of the HIBG act as coordinators for PlantWatch, a national program tracking climate change and other ecological activities by its volunteers.

The Cornwallis River is in Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It has a meander length of approximately 48 kilometres (30 mi) through eastern Kings County, from its source on the North Mountain at Grafton to its mouth near Wolfville on the Minas Basin. The lower portion of the river beginning at Kentville is tidal and there are extensive tidal marshes in the lower reaches. In its upper watershed at Berwick, the river draws on the Caribou Bog while a longer branch continues to the official source, a stream on the North Mountain at Grafton.

Starrs Point is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Kings County two miles (3 km) northeast of Port Williams. Starrs Point faces the Minas Basin to the east and separates the mouths of the Cornwallis River and the Canard River. It is an agricultural area noted for apple orchards, farming and more recently vineyards.

Acadia University is a public, predominantly undergraduate university located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada, with some graduate programs at the master's level and one at the doctoral level. The enabling legislation consists of the Acadia University Act and the Amended Acadia University Act 2000. The Wolfville Campus houses Acadia University Archives and the Acadia University Art Gallery. Acadia offers over 200 degree combinations in the faculties of arts, pure and applied science, professional studies, and theology. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1 and the average class size is 28. Open Acadia offers correspondence and distance education courses. Acadia does have Botanical Gardens known as the Harriet Irving Gardens. These gardens feature plants and trees native to the Acadian forest region.
