All Saints’ Episcopal Church is an historic house of worship in San Diego, California. It is noted for its traditional Anglican services, its music program, and its art and architecture. All Saints’ has existed continuously and at the same location for a longer time than any other church in San Diego. Founded in 1896 as a mission of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, it moved to its current position on the corner of Sixth and Pennsylvania Avenues in 1899 and became a parish in 1906. The new neighborhood of Hillcrest grew up around it. The present church building was constructed in 1912. It was designed by two people of prominence in San Diego architectural history, William Sterling Hebbard (1863-1930) and Carleton Monroe Winslow, Sr. The church is a classic representative of the Mission style, on which Hebbard had done extensive research. The building’s structure has not been altered since 1912, and most of the original furnishings are still in place. Harmonious additions were made in 1924 (a parish hall) and 1948-1950 (a chapel, meeting room, and offices). These expansions were also designed by important architects: William Henry Wheeler (1872-1956) for the parish hall and Louis Gill (1885-1969) for the additions of the late 1940s. Between 1957 and 1967 the church was beautified by 32 works of stained glass, produced by the renowned Judson Studios of Los Angeles. These windows follow a unified program that includes sequences illustrating the history of the Christian church, the life of the Virgin, and the host of angels. The great west window is a representation of Christ the King surrounded by emblems of the sacraments and the four Gospel writers. The remarkable acoustics of the church have made it a preferred location for many musical events. Its choir and organ (M. P. Moller, 1973) provide classical and traditional Christian music for weekly services and special occasions. Since its beginning, All Saints’ has been a metropolitan church, attracting members from throughout the San Diego area. Its congregation is diverse in age, sex, ethnicity, and occupation. The church sponsors a popular preschool and provides facilities for a variety of social service organizations. It continues the traditional Anglican worship service known to Episcopalians as Rite I.

Marston Hills is a neighborhood within the Hillcrest community of San Diego, California. It is located above the northwestern corner of Balboa Park, and is generally bounded by Sixth Avenue to the west, Pennsylvania Avenue to the north, and Park Boulevard to the east, although some sources give California State Route 163 as the western boundary. The neighborhood is named after George Marston, an early San Diego businessman and philanthropist, whose house and grounds are located in the area. The Marston Hills area is one of the older neighborhoods in San Diego, and has many large homes amid mature landscaping. The neighborhood has been proposed as a recognized historic district within the city of San Diego. The neighborhood was also the scene of one of San Diego's most infamous crimes: the murder of Dan Broderick by his ex-wife Betty Broderick. Marston Hills directly abuts Balboa Park, and borders a camp of the San Diego-Imperial Council of Girl Scouts of the USA. The neighborhood also contains urban finger canyons with trails that connect to trails within Balboa Park.

Scripps Mercy Hospital is a private Catholic hospital located in San Diego, California. Founded in 1890, it is the oldest hospital in San Diego County and has campuses in Chula Vista and Hillcrest. The hospital has 700 acute-care-licensed beds and employs 1,300 physicians. The Hillcrest campus is home to one of only two regional Level I Trauma Centers and receives more than 2,100 trauma patients each year.

Buddha For You is an antique Buddhist statuary store and gift shop in San Diego, California. The store offers a collection of existing and custom Buddhist statuary items and has been operating free meditation classes since 2009. The gift shop is best known for its role in the development of the first Buddhist college fraternity in the United States, Delta Beta Tau, at San Diego State University (SDSU).

Dharma Bum Temple is an American Buddhist temple in San Diego, California. The temple focuses on being an introductory center for beginners to learn Buddhism and aims to provide a space for Americans to practice Buddhism in the comfort of their own culture. It has its roots in Taiwanese Buddhism but identifies with ecumenical Buddhism, or interdenominational Buddhism. Dharma Bum Temple was founded on New Year's Eve in 2006 by a group of three people. It was originally located in Downtown San Diego, where it became popular among locals and college students from the nearby San Diego State University (SDSU). The temple was involved in the founding of the first Buddhist college fraternity in the United States, Delta Beta Tau. Dharma Bum Temple made headlines in local newspapers in 2017 with its campaign to buy the 1927-built Swedenborgian Church in University Heights, San Diego, which the temple relocated to later that year. Dharma Bum Temple holds free meditation and Buddhism classes for the general public and organizes community service events in the area. The temple is known for directing its members to other Buddhist temples in the area based on the forms of Buddhism that interest the person. The temple routinely hosts guest speakers from various traditions of Buddhism and organizes field trips to other Buddhist temples in the area.

The George W. Marston House, or George Marston House and Gardens, also referred to as the George and Anna Marston House or the Marston House, is a museum and historic landmark located in San Diego and maintained by Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO).

The Georgia Street Bridge in San Diego, California was constructed in 1907 to carry traffic, after a streetcar line was cut through a ridge where Georgia Street stood. In 1914, a Romanesque Spandrel Arch with Mission Revival styling made of reinforced concrete and designed by J.R. Comly was built there. It was designed to complement the Panama-California Exposition at nearby Balboa Park. Between 1914 and 1948, the San Diego Electric Railway's East San Diego Trolley Line traveled under the bridge along University Avenue. Upon application by the University Heights Historical Society, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.The bridge was restored in 2016, uncovering several artefacts including old trolley tracks and an old spoon.

University Heights is a neighborhood in Central San Diego, California centered on Park Boulevard and Adams Avenue. University Heights is bounded on the west and north by the edge of the mesa, the southern boundary is Lincoln Avenue, and the eastern boundary is Boundary Street along the western edge of Interstate 805. Hillcrest is a neighborhood in San Diego, California lying northwest of the Balboa Park neighborhood and south of the Mission Valley neighborhood. Hillcrest is known for its "tolerance and acceptance," its gender diversity, and locally owned businesses, including restaurants, cafés, bars, clubs, trendy thrift-stores, and other independent specialty stores. Hillcrest has a high population density compared to many other neighborhoods in San Diego, and it has a large and active lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and polyamorous community.

The UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest (also referred to as the Hillcrest Medical Center or simply UC San Diego Medical Center) is one of two medical centers of UC San Diego Health and is a teaching hospital for the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. The 390-bed hospital offers a range of primary care and specialized services and houses several regional services, including the San Diego Regional Burn Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Its emergency department includes the first overall and sole academic Level I Trauma Center serving San Diego County and Imperial County. It and the UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center are the only two academic teaching hospitals in San Diego.

Park Place Methodist Episcopal Church South (also known as Balboa Park Place) is a historic Methodist church building at 508 Olive Street in San Diego, California. It is currently a special event facility known as The Abbey and managed by Hornblower Cruises It was built in 1910 in a Classical Revival style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It was designed by architect Norman Foote Marsh.
