Kapolei High School, located in Kapolei community, in the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, on the Island of Oahu, is a public high school. It is a part of the Hawaii Department of Education. On July 24, 2000, Kapolei opened with first-year students. In the 2006–2007 school year, Kapolei High School had over 2,300 students in grades 9–12. Its mascot is the Hurricanes, and the school colors are teal, black and silver. The school's football field has been used as the practice field for the Pro Bowl.Due to the school's MCJROTC achievements, the school is recognized as a Naval Honor School for JROTC.

Marine Corps Air Station Ewa (MCAS Ewa) was a United States Marine Corps air station that was located 7 miles (11 km) west of Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The base was hit during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and later served as the hub for all Marine aviation units heading into combat in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The base was closed in 1952 because its runways were too short for jet aircraft, and expansion was impossible due to the proximity of Naval Air Station Barbers Point. Ewa has been abandoned since 1952; however, two of its runways are still visible from the air and many of the revetments still remain in good condition.

ʻEwa Villages is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the ʻEwa District and the City & County of Honolulu on the leeward side of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi approximately 20 miles (32 km) from downtown Honolulu. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 7,825. This area was previously known as ʻEwa (in Hawaiian, ʻewa means "crooked"). In the late 19th century to early 20th century, ʻEwa was one of the large population centers on the island of Oʻahu, with industry focused around sugar cane production. The ʻEwa Mill was a major employer that set up residential villages within ʻEwa (from which the modern name arose). Sugar cane is no longer grown on the ʻEwa Plain and ʻEwa is now one of Oʻahu's suburban growth centers—an area of substantial sprawl spreading unbroken to ʻEwa Gentry and ʻEwa Beach on the south, Kalaeloa on the southwest, and Kapolei on the west. This area is now referred to as Oʻahu's Second City, with a city center (downtown) located in Kapolei. Honouliuli is a former village and now a place name for the north end of ʻEwa, lying along Honouliuli Stream between ʻEwa Villages and Waipahu. The U.S. postal code for ʻEwa is 96706, the same as ʻEwa Beach.

Lanakila Baptist School is a college-preparatory K-12 private school located in Honolulu County, Hawaii. It serves grades sixth through twelve and has a current enrollment of about 70 students. The student population is ethnically diverse and includes Filipinos, Caucasians, part-Hawaiians, Japanese, Hispanics, Indo-Chinese, Chinese, Samoans, and African-Americans. It is an educational ministry of and subservient to Lanakila Baptist Church of Waipahu. Its administrative office and elementary school building is in Waipahu while its middle and high school campus is in Ewa Villages CDP (with an Ewa postal address), 16 miles (26 km) away from downtown Honolulu.

Kualakaʻi station (also known as East Kapolei station) is an elevated Skyline metro station in East Kapolei, Hawaiʻi. The station is located alongside Kualakaʻi Parkway above its intersection with Keahumoa Parkway. The station opened on June 30, 2023, and serves as the western terminus of the line. A 900-space park and ride lot will be added at the station site by 2023.In Hawaiian, "kualakaʻi" means "to show the way, stand and lead". The Hawaiian Station Name Working Group proposed Hawaiian names for the nine rail stations on the ʻEwa end of the rail system (stations west of and including Aloha Stadium) in November 2017, and HART adopted the proposed names on February 22, 2018.

As of the 2010 Census, the CDP had a total population of 22,690. This area is also known as just ʻEwa (in Hawaiian, ʻewa means "crooked"). In the late 19th century to early 20th century, ʻEwa was one of the large population centers on the Island of Oʻahu, with industry focused around sugar cane production. The ʻEwa Mill, in ʻEwa was a major employer that set up residential villages. As of the 2010 Census, the CDP had a total population of 8,361. This general area was previously known just as ʻEwa. In the late 19th century to early 20th century, ʻEwa was one of the large population centers on the Island of Oʻahu, with industry focused around sugar cane production. The ʻEwa Mill was a major employer that set up residential villages. Sugar cane is no longer grown on the ʻEwa Plain and Ocean Pointe is now part of Oʻahu's new suburban growth center—an area of substantial sprawl spreading unbroken to the south to ʻEwa Beach, north to Honouliuli, and west to Kalaeloa and Kapolei. This area is now referred to as Oʻahu's Second City, with a city center (downtown) located in Kapolei.

Hoakalei Resort is a residential development of 726 acres (2.94 km2) in West Oahu, Hawaii. The project being built on former sugar cane lands in 'Ewa Beach is expected to be completed by 2016. Its first component – the Ernie Els-designed golf course at Hoakalei Country Club – opened to members in January 2009.

The University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu (UHWO) is a public college in Kapolei, Hawaii. It is part of the University of Hawaiʻi system. It offers baccalaureate degrees in liberal arts and professional studies. UHWO opened in January 1976 and since 1981 has been accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission or its predecessor. In 2007, the school added first- and second-year subjects, becoming a four-year college.UHWO is the US' fastest-growing public baccalaureate college. It has one of the most diverse student populations among four-year public institutions, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education. It is the newest campus in the University of Hawaiʻi, It was established in part to provide access to higher education in Leeward Oʻahu.The college offers undergraduate education. It enrolled 3,182 students in fall 2018, many from Leeward Oʻahu. UHWO also reaches students around the state with its Distance Learning program. About 10 percent of University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu’s enrollment list another island as their permanent address.University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu has the highest percentage of distance and online courses and programs and the highest percentage of part-time students in University of Hawaiʻi. University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu supports the study of Hawaiian language, history and culture. The student:faculty ratio is 24:1. Tuition is among the lowest in the nation.

Keoneʻae station (also known as University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu station) is an elevated Skyline metro station in East Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, serving the nearby University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu campus. The station is located alongside Kualakaʻi Parkway above its intersection with Hoomohala Avenue. The station opened on June 30, 2023 and includes a 304 space park and ride lot, with plans to offer up to 1,000 spaces at the site eventually.In Hawaiian, "kaoneʻae" means "fine, soft, powdery sand". The Hawaiian Station Name Working Group proposed Hawaiian names for the nine rail stations on the ʻEwa end of the rail system (stations west of and including Aloha Stadium) in November 2017, and HART adopted the proposed names on February 22, 2018.

The Oahu Railway and Land Company, or OR&L, was a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge common carrier railway that served much of the Hawaiian island of Oahu, and was the largest narrow gauge class one common carrier in the U.S, until its dissolution in 1947.

Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) is an American two-year liberal arts college located in Kapolei, Hawaii. It was established in Honolulu on May 22, 1992, in the Mo‘ili‘ili community neighboring Waikiki. Initially called "Tokai International College," its first academic term began on October 8, 1992. In April 2015, HTIC relocated to its new campus in Kapolei, adjacent to the University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu campus. The only American campus of the Tokai University Educational System (TES) of Japan, HTIC reflects the combined educational philosophies of Tokai founder Shigeyoshi Matsumae and former University of Hawaii Vice President for Community Colleges Richard Kosaki.
