The Laird, Norton Company Building is a historic commercial building in Winona, Minnesota, United States. From its completion in 1918 to 1958 it was the headquarters of the Laird, Norton Company, the largest and most successful logging firm based in Winona. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014 for its local significance in the theme of commerce. It was nominated for its association with the Minnesota lumber industry. The Laird, Norton Company was founded in the 1850s in Winona, a strategic river and rail hub, and pioneered the use of line yards, lumber yards established along railroad lines to sell raw building material to inland settlers.

The Winona Public Library is the public library serving Winona, Minnesota, United States. It is a member of Southeastern Libraries Cooperating, a Minnesota library region. Housed in an 1899 Neoclassical building, the Winona Public Library was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 for having local significance in architecture and education. It is Minnesota's oldest library to continuously operate in a purpose-built facility.

The Winona Savings Bank Building, now the Winona National Bank Historic Downtown Building, is an Egyptian Revival bank building in Winona, Minnesota, United States. It was designed by Chicago-based architect George W. Maher and constructed from 1914 to 1916. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 for having state-level significance in the themes of architecture and commerce. It was nominated for being the largest and best preserved of Minnesota's few early-20th-century Egyptian Revival buildings, and one of Maher's master works in the state.The bank contains on the third floor of it a taxidermy gallery of African wildlife and guns by bank president EL King.

It operated from 1892 to 1921 as one of many such establishments commissioned around the Upper Midwest by the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company of Milwaukee. It was nominated for being a well-preserved example of this once-common business venture by breweries. In 1998 the Schlitz Hotel was also included as a contributing property of the Winona Commercial Historic District.

The Winona Hotel is also a contributing property to the Winona Commercial Historic District. Now known as The Kensington, the building has been converted to senior apartments.

An auditorium was added to the rear of the east building in 1928. In 1988 the complex became the Winona Middle School. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Winona High School and Winona Junior High School in 2004 for its local significance in the theme of education. It was nominated for representing local efforts to implement progressive educational trends in updated facilities, while offering cultural experiences to the wider community through professional music performances in the auditorium.An adaptive reuse project completed in 2004 converted the former school into the Washington Crossing apartments.

It was designed in Renaissance Revival style by the architectural firm of Kees & Colburn and built in 1900. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 for its local significance in the theme of architecture. It was nominated for being among Winona's most architecturally distinctive office buildings from the turn of the 20th century. It is also notable for being designed to the specifications of its first tenants even though they were primarily renters rather than owners.

It was nominated for its associations with Choate, who pioneered fixed price retail and in-store merchandise displays in the region, and boosted his bottom line by wholesaling to other merchants.In 1998 the store was also included as a contributing property of the Winona Commercial Historic District.

It was built with federal funding from the Public Works Administration in 1939.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 for having local significance in the themes of architecture and politics/government. It was nominated as a local example of the massive federal relief efforts of the New Deal and for its exceptional Classical Moderne architecture.The building was designed by the local firm of Boyum, Schubert and Sorensen in 1938. It is partially faced in local travertine stone. Winona City Hall originally included a police station with police garage and jail cells, which were removed when the interior of the building was remodeled in the early 1980s.
