The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) at the George Washington University is a school of political management and applied politics, strategic communications and civic engagement. Its graduates hold a variety of professional titles including campaign managers, pollsters, speechwriters, communications professionals, legislative aides and directors, candidates, lobbyists, and new media experts. It is the only school of applied politics in Washington, D.C. The faculty trains students of all political persuasions in how to win campaigns, advance legislative goals and impact public opinion ethically.

John J. Earley Office and Studio is a historic home at 2131 G Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.

Engine Company 23 is a fire station and a historic structure located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The two-story Italianate style building was a collaboration of the Washington, D.C. architectural firm of Hornblower & Marshall and District of Columbia Municipal Architect Snowden Ashford. It was built in 1910. The exterior of the structure features segmental-arched vehicle openings and quoined limestone frontispiece. It was listed on both the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 2005 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The building sits on the campus of the George Washington University near Kogan Plaza.

Hattie M. Strong Residence Hall is a women's dormitory on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. It was listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 1987 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Foggy Bottom is one of the oldest late 18th- and 19th-century neighborhoods in Washington, D.C., located west of the White House and downtown Washington, in the Northwest quadrant. It is bounded roughly by 17th Street NW to the east, Rock Creek Parkway to the west, Constitution Avenue NW to the south, and Pennsylvania Avenue NW to the north. Foggy Bottom is thought to have received its name due to an atmospheric quirk of its low lying, marshy riverside location, which made it susceptible to concentrations of fog, and later, industrial smoke. The United States Department of State gained the metonym "Foggy Bottom" when it moved its headquarters to the nearby Harry S Truman Building, originally planned and constructed to be the new United States Department of War headquarters building, from the State, War, and Navy Building (now known as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building) near the White House in 1947.Foggy Bottom includes the main campus of the George Washington University (GWU), and residents have convenient access to the nearby historic Georgetown area. In 1877 the moons of Mars (Phobos and Deimos) were discovered from the old Naval Observatory in Foggy Bottom, which was located here until 1893.

Anniversary Park is an urban park located at the south end of the George Washington University campus, on F St NW, between 21st and 22nd St NW, in Washington, D.C. The park commemorates George Washington University's 175th anniversary and contains benches, a garden and grills. As part of the GW Alumni Brick Program, bricks for the class of 1996 are located in Anniversary Park.

The Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library, more commonly known as Gelman Library, is the main library of The George Washington University, and is located on its Foggy Bottom campus. The Gelman Library, the Eckles Library on the Mount Vernon campus and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus Library in Ashburn comprise the trio known as the George Washington University Libraries. The Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library and the Jacob Burns Law Library also serve the university. The Gelman Library is a member of the Washington Research Library Consortium and the Association of Research Libraries.

The Lenthall Houses are historic houses on the George Washington University campus in Washington, D.C. The adjacent houses were built around 1800 and they were moved to their current location and restored between 1978 and 1979. It has been listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites since 1964 and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The National Churchill Leadership Center (NCLC) formerly known as the National Churchill Library and Center is a public library and museum at the George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., dedicated to the life and work of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. It is located on the ground level of the GWU's Gelman Library.The NCLC was officially opened on 29 October 2016 and is a collaboration between the George Washington University and the International Churchill Society. The concept of a Churchill research library in the United States was conceived in 2012 by International Churchill Society Chairman, Laurence Geller CBE, and the then President of the George Washington University, Steven Knapp. It was the first research facility in the U.S. capital dedicated to the study of Churchill.The NCLC contains hundreds of volumes by and about Churchill; a touchscreen exhibit based on the 2012 exhibition "Churchill: The Power of Words" at the Morgan Library in New York; online access to the Churchill Archive housed at Churchill College, Cambridge; and primary sources including the engagement diary cards that recorded Churchill's schedule during World War II.
