Public Establishment of Television (Arabic: المؤسّسة العمومية للتلفزيون, French: Établissement public de télévision French pronunciation), abbreviated as EPTV, is a state-owned company that manages the activity of television in Algeria, going from production to broadcasting. It is the oldest broadcasting service in the country. It currently operates an eponymous television network Télévision Algérienne, seven television channels – Canal Algérie, A3, Channel 4, Coran TV, TV6, TV7, TV8. EPTV is an active member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU). It is also a shareholder in Euronews SA.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Arabic: وزارة الشؤون الخارجية, French: Ministère des Affaires étrangères) is the Algerian government ministry which oversees the foreign relations of Algeria. Its head office is in El Mouradia, Algiers Province.Ramtane Lamamra has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs since July 2021.

The Hotel El-Djazaïr, formerly Hôtel Saint-George, is a historic hotel in Algiers. From November 1942 to December 1943, it served as the location for Allied Force Headquarters, led by Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The Provisional Consultative Assembly (French: Assemblée consultative provisoire) was a governmental organ of Free France that operated under the aegis of the French Committee of National Liberation (CFLN) and that represented the resistance movements, political parties, and territories that were engaged against Germany in the Second World War alongside the Allies. Established by ordinance on 17 September 1943 by the CFLN, it held its first meetings in Algiers, at the Palais Carnot (the former headquarters of the Financial Delegations), between 3 November 1943 and 25 July 1944. On 3 June 1944, it was placed under the authority of the Provisional Government of the French Republic (GPRF), which succeeded the CFLN. Restructured and expanded after the liberation of France, it held sessions in Paris at the Palais du Luxembourg between 7 November 1944 and 3 August 1945.

The Supreme Court of Algeria is the highest court of appeal in Algeria. It can only review lower court decisions on questions of procedure. When overruled the case will be returned to the lower courts for retrial.The court is located in Algiers, and was created by Law 218/63. Its judicial authority is defined by Law 22/89. Its president is Sulayman Budi, and the attorney general is Ben 'Ubayd al-Wardi.

Algiers ( al-JEERZ; Arabic: الجزائر, romanized: al-Jazāʾir; Berber languages: Dzayer; French: Alger, [alʒe]) is the capital and largest city of Algeria. The city's population at the 2008 Census was 2,988,145 and in 2020 was estimated to be around 4,500,000. An estimate puts the population of the larger metropolitan city to be around 8,000,000. Algiers is located on the Mediterranean Sea and in the north-central portion of Algeria.Algiers is situated on the west side of a bay of the Mediterranean Sea. The modern part of the city is built on the level ground by the seashore; the old part, the ancient city of the deys, climbs the steep hill behind the modern town and is crowned by the Casbah or citadel, 122 metres (400 ft) above the sea. The casbah and the two quays form a triangle.

The 1965 Algerian coup d'état brought Colonel Houari Boumédiène to power as Chairman of the Revolutionary Council in Algeria. The bloodless coup d'état saw Algeria's first President, Ahmed Ben Bella, arrested and his closest supporters imprisoned by Boumédiène and his allies, principally in the Algerian Land Forces. The arrest of Ben Bella occurred on 19 June 1965.

The action of 26 May 1789 was a minor naval engagement fought off Algiers, Mediterranean Sea, in which a small Portuguese division, commanded by coronel do mar José de Melo Breyner, spotted an Algerian xebec accompanied by a captured French ship, the Le Désir, of which he was forced to abandon and flee, pursued by the Portuguese brigantine Lebre.

Hydra is a municipality in Algiers province, Algeria. It is located in Bir Mourad Raïs district, in the plateau of western Algiers, the wealthier part of the national capital. It was heavily affected during the 11 December 2007 Algiers bombings. The head office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs is in Hydra.

Sidi M'Hamed is a district in Algiers Province, Algeria. It was named after its capital, Sidi M'Hamed.

The Bardo National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography (Arabic: المتحف الوطني باردو, El-mathaf El-ouatani Bardo, French: Musée National de Préhistoire et d'Ethnographie du Bardo) is a national museum located in Algiers, Algeria. The edifice is a former Moorish villa. It was opened as a museum in 1927.Nothing specific is known about this residence, formerly in the countryside and now encompassed in the modern city. H. Klein tells us that the palace was built in the eighteenth century and that it would have been the property of Prince Omar before the French conquest. A document, in the form of a drawing signed by Captain Longuemare, specifies that it was Mustapha ben Omar who was a very rich Tunisian. In 1926, the Bardo Palace was ceded to the Domains by Mrs Frémont, sister and heiress of Pierre Joret.
