Salem Crossroads Historic District is a national historic district located at Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses 64 contributing buildings in the historic core of Delmont, originally called Salem Crossroads. The district includes buildings largely constructed between 1830 and 1870. It includes four log houses, numerous Greek Revival style buildings, the Central Hotel, a Gothic Revival style church, feed mill, wagon shop, livery stable, brickyard, blacksmith shop, and an old Ford Garage, dated to the 1920s. Plans to restore the area as a living museum never materialized.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Historic Fairview Park, Assoc. is a historic African American spiritual retreat center and recreational destination located at Salem Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. It was developed during the Jim Crow era. Contributing resources include the landscape, ballfield, and a late-19th - early-20th century frame barn.Fairview Park, Assoc. was developed in 1945 by the Monongahela Valley Sunday School Association — a group of African-American churches from Westmoreland and Allegheny counties. At a time when segregation restricted access to other public amusement parks, Fairview Park was a place the African-American community could call its own. At one point, the park had a roller coaster, a merry-go-round, a skating rink, a swimming pool, softball fields, swings, see-saws, a sandbox, a petting zoo, and hot-air balloon rides. As of February 2011, Fairview Park received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places. Fairview Park is still a magnificent family-oriented locale for private and public gatherings and events. Each year the Fairview Park Association holds its Annual Picnic, an event open to all on the third Saturday of August. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Center Ice Arena is an ice rink located in Delmont, Pennsylvania. The venue, opened in 1997, houses three NHL ice sheets and is home to eight high school teams, one college team, and one amateur team. During the summer season, the Allegheny Arena (added in 2003) is transformed into a roller rink.Center Ice Arena has been home to many stars of Pennsylvania high school hockey, but perhaps the most notable is R. J. Umberger of Plum High School. Umberger has played for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. In the rafters of Center Ice Arena's East Rink hangs his retired Plum Mustangs jersey.

Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh and much of Allegheny County, as well as some of Westmoreland County. Since January 3, 2023, it has been represented by Summer Lee. Before 2018, the 12th district was located in southwestern Pennsylvania and included all of Beaver County, and parts of Allegheny, Cambria, Lawrence, Somerset, and Westmoreland Counties. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania redrew this and other state congressional districts in February 2018 after ruling the previous map unconstitutional due to partisan gerrymandering. The new 12th district covers much of the old 10th district. The old 12th district was redrawn to an area north and west of Pittsburgh and renamed the 17th district for the 2018 elections and representation after that.Before the 2011 round of redistricting, the 12th district was widely considered to be gerrymandered by the Republican-controlled state legislature as a heavily Democratic district. It consisted of all of Greene County, and parts of Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Fayette, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.
