Petsoe End is a hamlet in Emberton civil parish, in the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The name Petsoe is used frequently in the local area, with other local hamlets being called Petsoe Manor and Petsoe Lodge. Petsoe was formerly a separate parish from Emberton, but was annexed to the latter parish in 1650 for ecclesiastical purposes. There was another parish nearby, called Ekeney which was also annexed at the same time, though nothing remains of Ekeney today. Today nothing remains of Petsoe church, though the landmarkings showing where it once stood are still discernible.

The village is near the borders with Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, just to the south of Olney, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Newport Pagnell, and 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Central Milton Keynes. The parish of Emberton was formed from three villages that were annexed together for ecclesiastical purposes in 1650: Petsoe, Ekeney and Emberton. Today nothing remains of Ekeney and Petsoe only exists as a hamlet called Petsoe End.The village name is an Old English word and means Eanbeorht's Farm. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was called Ambretone; in manorial records of 1227 it was Emberdestone, and by the fourteenth century it was Embirtone.In the twelfth century, the manor was owned by the Paynel (sic) family of Newport Pagnell. The parish church is dedicated to All Saints.Although there are no shops in the village, there is a village pub called the Bell and Bear on the site of the old Bell Inn. The former Bear Inn was previously situated near Petsoe where the A509 now runs.

The Battle of Olney Bridge was a skirmish that occurred on 4 November 1643 during the First English Civil War just outside the town of Olney, Buckinghamshire. In the engagement, Royalist forces attacked Parliamentarian forces holding the Olney bridge, but were driven off by a counter-attack.

Clifton Reynes is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority area of the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. It is about a mile east of Olney. It shares a joint parish council with Newton Blossomville. It is situated roughly 8 miles (13 km) north of Central Milton Keynes and 9 miles (14 km) west of Bedford.

The Cowper and Newton Museum is a museum in Olney, north Buckinghamshire, England, around 8 miles (13 km) north-east of Central Milton Keynes. Celebrating the work and lives of two famous local residents: William Cowper (1731–1800), a celebrated 18th-century poet; and John Newton (1725–1807), a slave trader and subsequently a prominent abolitionist, who was curate in the local church. Together, Cowper and Newton wrote the Olney Hymns, including one of the world's most popular hymns, "Amazing Grace". The museum is housed in a large red-brick Georgian house, called Orchard Side, on the corner of Market Place in Olney.

Chicheley is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority area of the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The village is about 2.5 miles (4 km) north-east of Newport Pagnell, and 5 miles (8.0 km) north-east of Central Milton Keynes. The village name is Anglo-Saxon in origin, and means Cicca's clearing. In the Domesday Book of 1086, the village was recorded as Cicelai.The manor of Chicheley (which some suggest may have once been called Thickthorn) anciently belonged to the Pagnell family of Newport Pagnell, but was given by them to the church. Through this connection the village also at one time belonged to Cardinal Wolsey, though only until his forced resignation by King Henry VIII who took all his possessions from him at that time. During the English Civil War, the manor, belonging to the Chester family, received some considerable damage, associated as it was with the garrison at Newport Pagnell. Following the civil war, the manor was demolished, and the present Chicheley Hall built on the site. All that remains of the old manor today is one Jacobean over-mantel with termini caryatids, and some panelling in the 'new' Chicheley Hall. The parish church is dedicated to St Lawrence and has a perpendicular style central tower with large windows. The chancel, which contains a fine plaster depicting floral wreaths in relief, and a stone reredos, was rebuilt c. 1708; however, the church dates from the 14th century. In the nave are raised box pews, giving a theatrical air. The church contains monuments to Anthony Cave. Cave's sarcophagus is a cadaver tomb. Other monuments dating from 1635 are to the Chester family of Chicheley Hall.

The village name 'Weston' is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'western estate', possibly referring to the situation of the village in relation to Olney. The affix 'Underwood' refers to the village's location to a nearby forest, probably the Yardley Chase and Whittlewood Forest.

Chicheley Hall, Chicheley, Buckinghamshire, England is a country house built in the first quarter of the 18th century. The client was Sir John Chester, the main architect was Francis Smith of Warwick and the architectural style is Baroque. Later owners included David Beatty, 2nd Earl Beatty and the Royal Society. Chicheley Hall is a Grade I listed building.

Chicheley War Memorial is located in Hall Lane, Chicheley, Buckinghamshire, England. It is a grade II listed building with Historic England. It was designed by Sir Herbert Baker and unveiled on 22 October 1920 by Lady Farrar of Chicheley Hall.
