Vestamager

Amager Vest (English:West Amager) is one of the ten administrative districts of Copenhagen Denmark. It located on in the north-western part of the island of Amager, the largest island in the Øresund. The district is bordered by Amager Øst to the east along Amagerbrogade, the main shopping street and thoroughfare of the part of Copenhagen. Amager Vest is the largest of the ten new official administrative districts of Copenhagen, but has at the same time the smallest population. Only the most northern part can be considered as "urban area". Amager Vest includes Islands Brygge, Ørestad, Sundbyvester and Eberts Villaby as well as the extensive meadow and wetlands of Kalvebod Fælled. The western part of Amager island is mainly an enlargement from shallow parts of the Øresund. The extension of western Amager began around 1930 and was finished around 1955. The main purpose was to give shelter to the southern parts of Copenhagen harbour. The enlargement is filled with rocks, sand from the sea, plaster and waste. Consequently the soil is too poor for agricultural matters. The overall condition of the soil makes it very expensive to set up buildings there. The exhibition centre Bella Center (which hosted the environment meeting COP15 in December 2009) is one of very few exceptions from this.

Sundby station is a rapid transit station on the Copenhagen Metro. It is served by the M1 line. The station is elevated from ground level and opened on 19 October 2002. It is located in fare zone 3. With an average of 1,000 passengers per weekday, it is the least-used station in the network.

Nokken is a self-built community located on the north-west coast of Amager, just south of Islands Brygge, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Gemini Residence is a residential building on the Islands Brygge waterfront in Copenhagen, Denmark. Built to the design of MVRDV, the building has been created by converting two former seed silos. It is located at the end of Bryggebroen, connecting Amager-side Islands Brygge to Zealand-side Vesterbro across the harbour, and close to the southern end of Havneparken. With a reference to the twin silos that have given the building its shape, Gemini Residence takes its name from the Astrological sign Gemini, the Latin name of the Zodiac sign The Twins.

Enghave Brygge station is an underground Copenhagen Metro station, located in the eponymous area of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is on the M4 Line, between Havneholmen and Sluseholmen.

Bella Center (abbreviated BC) is Scandinavia's second largest exhibition and conference center (after Messecenter Herning), and is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Located in Ørestad between the city centre and Copenhagen Airport, it offers an indoor area of 121,800 square metres (1,311,000 sq ft) and has a capacity of 20,000 people. Among the larger annual events is the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, the main event of Copenhagen Fashion Week held twice a year - in February and August, and CODE, the main event of Copenhagen Design Week.

Havneholmen station is an underground Copenhagen Metro station, located next to the eponymous street and development, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is on the M4 Line, between Copenhagen Central and Enghave Brygge.

Mogens Dahl Concert Hall is a chamber music venue in the Islands Brygge district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was opened at the private initiative of Mogens Dahl in 2005.

Bella Center station is a rapid transit station on the Copenhagen Metro. It is served by the M1 line. The station is elevated from ground level and opened on 19 October 2002. It is located in fare zone 3 and named after the Bella Center, a congress center located to the west of this station.

Hans Tausen's Church (Danish: Hans Tausens Kirke) is a Church of Denmark parish church in the Islands Brygge neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is named after Hans Tausen, the leading theologian of the Danish Reformation.

Amagerbro is an area in the northern part of the island Amager and a district in Copenhagen. The area is known as a working class area, and has approximately 20,000 inhabitants. The district has two metro stations, Amagerbro station and Lergravsparken station. Amagerbrogade, a main shopping street, runs through it. The district is bordered by the Amager Fælled nature reserve, the Christianhavn Ramparts and Kløvermarken, the industrial area near Amager Boulevard and Øresundsvej. The main shopping and business area is Amagerbrogade and its sidestreets. Establishments in Amagerbro include Kofoeds School offering assistance to people with social problems, the Sundholm Activity Centre accommodating the homeless for short periods, and The Royal School of Library and Information Science with some 800 students.

DR Byen station is a rapid transit station on the Copenhagen Metro. It is served by the M1 line. The station is elevated from ground level. It is located in fare zones 1 and 3, and opened in 2002. The station is situated in the northern part of Ørestad. The name of the station is related to Danmarks Radio's new headquarters DR Byen (DR town) that lies close to the station. Originally, the station was named Universitetet Station, because of new university buildings were intended to be constructed near the station, but the project was moved nearer Islands Brygge Station, next to the old buildings.
