Masonic Temple Building (Kalamazoo, Michigan)

The Lawrence and Chapin Building', also known as the Vermeulen Furniture Building, is a commercial building located at 201 North Rose Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Rickman House is an apartment building located at 345 North Burdick in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was formerly a hotel known as the Rickman Hotel. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The Park Trades Center is an arts center located at 326 W. Kalamazoo Ave in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States. Originally a manufacturing faculty, the building was repurposed and began to attract artists in the 1970s, and now houses artist studios and arts organizations. Occupants have included Glass Arts Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center, as well as studios dedicated to blacksmithing, cabinetmaking, glassblowing, ceramics, photography and other mediums. The center is a popular location to visit during Kalamazoo's Art Hop, a regular event sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo Transportation Center is an intermodal complex in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. Amtrak and Greyhound provide regular service there. The center is also the major downtown transfer hub for Kalamazoo's Metro Transit bus system. It is served by Amtrak's Blue Water and Wolverine trains and was formerly a stop for the International, which had started in 1982 as joint operation by Via Rail and Amtrak between Chicago and Toronto, was discontinued in 2004. Amtrak does not allow passengers to check luggage at Kalamazoo, but does permit carry-on of up to two suitcases plus "personal items" such as briefcases, purses, laptop bags, and infant gear.

The Kalamazoo Mall, the first outdoor pedestrian shopping mall in the United States, is a section of Burdick Street in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. Built for $60,000 and opened in 1959, the pedestrian mall became the first of several hundred built in the United States. The bold effort to make a downtown street car-free as a spur to urban vitality and a defense against suburbanization drew national attention to Kalamazoo, which was dubbed "Mall City".Initially, two blocks of Burdick Street were closed; a third block was added the following year and a fourth in 1975. In 1998, the southern two blocks were reopened to auto traffic, albeit a single southbound lane only. The two blocks of Burdick from Eleanor Street to W. Michigan Avenue are designated North Kalamazoo Mall; the two blocks south of W. Michigan to W. Lovell Street, South Kalamazoo Mall.

The Kalamazoo Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse is a federal building and former post office located at 410 W. Michigan Avenue in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

The Fountain of the Pioneers was a decorative fountain formerly located in Bronson Park (between bounded by Academy, Rose, South & Park Streets) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. It is significant as an outstanding example of work by architect and designer Alfonso Iannelli, combining elements of Prairie School, Modernist, Art Deco and Cultural Nationalism movements; it is also significant as one of the few public artworks referencing the Indian removal actions by the United States government in the 1800s. Because of the controversial nature of the sculpture, interpreted by some as depicting white supremacy, and because of the deteriorating condition of the fountain, it was removed from the park in 2018 and placed in storage. The statue was subsequently removed from the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

Old Fire House No. 4 is a former fire station located at 526 North Burdick Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Michigan Festival of Sacred Music (MFSM) is a biennial music festival in southwest Michigan that shares the music of diverse religious traditions. The festival occurs during the second weekend in November in odd-numbered years. Events include public concerts and presentations, lectures, and related workshops.

Kalamazoo ( KAL-ə-mə-ZOO) is a city in the southwest region of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the county seat of Kalamazoo County. At the 2020 census, Kalamazoo had a population of 73,598. Kalamazoo is the major city of the Kalamazoo-Portage Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 261,670 in 2020. One of Kalamazoo's most notable features is the Kalamazoo Mall, an outdoor pedestrian shopping mall. The city created the mall in 1959 by closing part of Burdick Street to auto traffic, although two of the mall's four blocks have been reopened to auto traffic since 1999. Kalamazoo is home to Western Michigan University, a large public university, Kalamazoo College, a private liberal arts college, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College, a two-year community college.

Bronson Park Historic District is a historic district in Kalamazoo, Michigan, consisting of Bronson Park and the surrounding government, religious, and civic buildings. It is roughly bounded by South Rose, South Park, West Lovell, and West Michigan Avenues. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Kalamazoo Public Library is an independent district library in Kalamazoo, Michigan, that serves about 120,000 people, has a salaried staff of 90, and spends about $10 million annually. The library consists of the central branch downtown, and four branch libraries.
