Expo 2010 pavilions

Expo 2010, officially the Expo 2010 Shanghai China, was held on both banks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, from 1 May to 31 October 2010. It was a major World Expo registered by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), in the tradition of international fairs and expositions, the first since 2005. The theme of the exposition was "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city". The Expo emblem features the Chinese character 世 ('world', Chinese "shì") modified to represent three people together with the 2010 date. It had the largest number of countries participating and was the most expensive Expo in the history of the world's fairs. The Shanghai World Expo was also the largest World's Fair site ever at 5.28 square km.By the end of the expo, over 73 million people had visited – a record attendance – and 246 countries and international organizations had participated. On 16 October 2010, the expo set a single-day record of over 1.03 million visitors.

The Mercedes-Benz Arena (simplified Chinese: 梅赛德斯-奔驰文化中心; traditional Chinese: 梅賽德斯-奔馳文化中心; pinyin: Méisàidésī-Bēnchí Wénhuà Zhōngxīn; Shanghainese: Meisedesy-bentzy Venho Tsonshin, literally "Mercedes-Benz Culture Center"), formerly known as the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center, is an indoor arena located on the former grounds of Expo 2010 in Pudong, Shanghai. It is owned and operated by the AEG-OPG joint venture. The facility seats 18,000 people and includes a smaller venue, The Mixing Room & Muse, which is a more intimate live-music venue.The arena hosted the opening ceremony for the Expo 2010, during which it was known as the Expo Cultural Center.

Shanghai Expo Park (simplified Chinese: 上海世博公园; traditional Chinese: 世博公園; pinyin: Shìbo Gōngyuán; Shanghainese: Sypoh Gonyu) is a park in the district of Pudong within Shanghai. It is situated in Pudong New Area. It is located near the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

South Xizang Road (Chinese: 西藏南路; pinyin: Xīzàng Nán Lù) is the name of an interchange station between Line 4 and Line 8 of the Shanghai Metro. It began operation on both lines on 29 December 2007. On 22 October 2010 the station handled about 100,000 entries and exits. It is the first station in Huangpu District when travelling northbound on Line 8.

The China Art Museum, also called the China Art Palace (simplified Chinese: 中华艺术宫; traditional Chinese: 中華藝術宮; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Yìshù Gōng; Shanghainese: Zongwu Nyizeh Ghon) or its original name, Shanghai Art Museum, is a museum of modern Chinese art located in Pudong, Shanghai. The museum is housed in the former China Pavilion of Expo 2010. It is one of the largest art museums in Asia.

The Expo Axis is one of the world's largest membrane roofs. It spanned the entrance and boulevard building of the World Exposition 2010 in Shanghai. The combination of the membrane structure, which has a surface of 65,000 m2 in total with a span of 100 m, and the six steelglass funnels of 45 m height, formed of a freeform double-curved framework, constitutes the landmark of the Expo Shanghai 2010.

The China pavilion at Expo 2010 (simplified Chinese: 中国国家馆; traditional Chinese: 中國國家館; pinyin: Zhōngguó guójiā guǎn) in Pudong, Shanghai, colloquially known as the Oriental Crown (东方之冠; 東方之冠; Dōngfāng zhī Guān), was the largest national pavilion at the Shanghai Expo and the largest display in the history of the World Expo. It was also the most expensive pavilion at the Shanghai Expo, having cost an estimated US$220 million. The pavilion showcased China's civilization and modern achievements by combining traditional and contemporary elements in its architecture, landscaping and exhibits. After the end of the Expo 2010, the building was converted to a museum. On October 1, 2012, it was reopened as the China Art Museum, the largest art museum in Asia.

China Art Museum (simplified Chinese: 中华艺术宫; traditional Chinese: 中華藝術宮; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Yìshù Gōng), formerly Zhoujiadu (周家渡; Zhōujiādù); is a station on Line 8 of the Shanghai Metro. The station opened on September 28, 2012, a few days before the opening of the China Art Museum, housed in the former China Pavilion at Expo 2010. It is the first station in Pudong when travelling southbound on Line 8.

World Expo Museum Station (simplified Chinese: 世博会博物馆; traditional Chinese: 世博會博物館; pinyin: Shìbóhuì Bówùguǎn) is the name of a station on Line 13 of the Shanghai Metro. It was previously known as Lupu Bridge Station (卢浦大桥; 盧浦大橋; Lúpǔ Dàqiáo). It opened on 19 December 2015.

The New Development Bank (NDB), formerly referred to as the BRICS Development Bank, is a multilateral development bank established by the BRICS states (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). According to the Agreement on the NDB, "the Bank shall support public or private projects through loans, guarantees, equity participation and other financial instruments." Moreover, the NDB "shall cooperate with international organizations and other financial entities, and provide technical assistance for projects to be supported by the Bank."The initial authorized capital of the bank is $100 billion divided into 1 million shares having a par value of $100,000 each. The initial subscribed capital of the NDB is $50 billion divided into paid-in shares ($10 billion) and callable shares ($40 billion). The initial subscribed capital of the bank was equally distributed among the founding members (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). The Agreement on the NDB specifies that every member will have one vote and that no member would have any veto powers .The bank is headquartered in Shanghai, China. The first regional office of the NDB is in Johannesburg, South Africa. The second regional office was established in 2019 in São Paulo, Brazil, followed by GIFT City, India and Moscow, Russia.

The Lupu Bridge (simplified Chinese: 卢浦大桥; traditional Chinese: 盧浦大橋; pinyin: Lúpǔ Dàqiáo), named after Luwan District, is a through arch bridge over the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, connecting the city's Huangpu and Pudong districts. It is the world's third longest steel arch bridge, after the Ping'nan Third Bridge in Guangxi and the Chaotianmen Bridge in Chongqing. The bridge has a total length including approach spans of 3,900 m (12,795 ft) and opened on June 28, 2003. The main bridge structure is 750m long including the two side spans of 100m each, and the main span of 550 metres (1,804 ft) over the Huangpu River is 32 metres (105 ft) longer than the previous record holder for the longest arch bridge, the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia. It cost 2.5 billion yuan (US$302 million), including US$78.04 for the main steel structure alone. It is located adjacent to the former Expo 2010 site and served as the centrepiece of the world exposition in Shanghai.

The Dapu Road Tunnel (Chinese: 打浦路隧道), formerly Huangpu River Tunnel or Project 651, is a road tunnel that runs under the Huangpu River in the city of Shanghai, China. It connects Huangpu District on the Puxi side of Shanghai with Pudong New Area. It consists of two tubes, the first of which was constructed between 1965 and 1970 and acted as the first vehicular tunnel underneath the Huangpu River in. The tunnel has two lanes and originally operated with one lane in each direction. Due to the need for greater capacity brought on by Shanghai's Expo 2010, a second tube was built between 2009 and 2010 just to the west of the first, opening on February 11, 2010. When the second tube opened, the first tube was converted for northbound traffic only while the new tube carried southbound traffic. The east, northbound tube is 2.739 km (1.702 mi) in length, while the west, southbound tube is 2.971 km (1.846 mi) long.
