Galleria Office Towers is an office complex located on the site of The Galleria in the Uptown district of Houston, Texas, United States. The buildings, consisting of the Galleria Tower I, Galleria Tower II, and the Galleria Financial Center, are managed by Colville Office Properties.The 25 floor Galleria Tower I, with 490,152 square feet (45,536.6 m2) of space, is at 2700 Post Oak Boulevard. The 21 floor Galleria Tower II, with 320,359 square feet (29,762.3 m2) of space, is at 5051 Westheimer Road. The 12 floor Galleria Financial Center, with 251,204 square feet (23,337.6 m2) of space, is at 5065 and 5075 Westheimer Road.

The Mercer West Tower is a 30-story, 401 ft (122 m) high-rise condominium building located on Sage Street in the uptown district of Houston, Texas, United States. The building is the first of two towers that are part of the Mercer Towers complex. The tower is the 45th tallest building in the city.

The Williams Tower (originally named the Transco Tower) is a 64-story, 1.4 million square feet (130,000 m2) class A postmodern office tower located in the Uptown District of Houston, Texas. The building was designed by New York–based John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson in association with Houston-based Morris-Aubry Architects (now known as Morris Architects). Construction began in August 1981, and the building was opened in 1983. The tower is among Houston's most visible buildings as the 4th-tallest in Texas, and the 44th-tallest in the United States. The Williams Tower is the tallest building in Houston outside of Downtown Houston, and is the tallest skyscraper in the United States outside of a city's central business district. It has been referred to as the "Empire State Building of the south".

Lakes on Post Oak is a commercial complex located in Uptown Houston, Texas, United States. The complex includes the 19-story 3000 Post Oak Boulevard, the 22-story 3040 Post Oak Boulevard, and the 17-story 3050 Post Oak Boulevard. Each building has a dedicated parking garage. Together the buildings, on a 23-acre (93,000 m2) site, have 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2) of Class A office space.

The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, formerly the Williams Waterwall and the Transco Waterwall, is a multi-story sculptural fountain that sits opposite the south face of Williams Tower in the Uptown District of Houston. The fountain and its surrounding park were built as an architectural amenity to the adjacent tower. Both the fountain and tower were designed by John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson. Originally privately owned in common with the office tower, the waterwall and the surrounding land were purchased by the Uptown Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, a non-profit local government corporation, in 2008 to ensure the long-term preservation of the waterwall and park. The fountain currently operates between 10 am and 9 pm.

Uptown (more commonly called The Galleria Area) is a business district in Houston, located 6.2 miles (10.0 km) west of Downtown and is centered along Post Oak Boulevard and Westheimer Road (Farm to Market Road 1093). The Uptown District is roughly bounded by Woodway Drive to the north, the I-610 (West Loop) to the east, Richmond Avenue to the south, and Yorktown Street to the west. It covers 1,010 acres (410 ha).At 23.6 million square feet (2.19 million square meters) of office space, the Uptown District is the 17th-largest business district in the United States, comparable in size to the downtowns of Denver and Pittsburgh. 2000 St. James Place is a 12-story, 335,000 square foot (31,100 m2) office building in Houston, Texas. It formerly housed the headquarters of Minute Maid. The building is located on a 6 acres (2.4 ha) site, and is in proximity to The Galleria.

Post Oak Central is a skyscraper complex in Uptown Houston, Texas, United States.The 17-acre (69,000 m2) Philip Johnson-designed complex includes three 24-story buildings, 1 Post Oak Central (2000 Post Oak Boulevard), 2 Post Oak Central (1980 Post Oak Boulevard), and 3 Post Oak Central (1990 Post Oak Boulevard), and a parking garage. The complex includes 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of Class A office space and retail. The complex includes a 90,000-square-foot (8,400 m2) retail center and parking for 4,200 cars.

The Consulate General of Sweden, Houston was the diplomatic mission of Sweden in Houston between 1963 and 1981. The consulate general originated from the consulate opened in 1950, which was converted into a consulate general in 1963. The consulate general tasks was to advance the interests of Sweden, and to serve and protect Swedes in Houston and different states in the Southern United States. Along with those in Chicago, Minneapolis, New York City, San Francisco, and Montreal, the consulate general belonged to the so-called "heritage consulates" due to the large number of inheritance cases it handled. The consulate general's district comprised not only the city of Houston but also the states of Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and the Florida panhandle. Between the years 1971 and 1977, there was no appointed consul general. In 1978, the consulate general was reopened but was shut down only three years later. Since 1983, a Swedish honorary consulate general has been operating in Houston.
