Ambrose is an unincorporated community in Grayson County, Texas, United States.

Carpenter's Bluff is a community in northeastern Grayson County, Texas, United States, located on the Red River and Farm to Market Road 120, twelve miles northeast of Sherman, connecting Grayson County and Bryan County, Oklahoma. Settled circa 1860, it derived its name from that of an early settler, E. E. Carpenter, who operated a ferry across the Red River. In the early twentieth century, the Missouri, Oklahoma and Gulf Railway constructed a bridge across the Red River at Carpenter's Bluff. By 1936, Carpenter's Bluff had a population of seventy-five and four businesses. Ten years later, the population had increased to 120, and the town still had four businesses.

Hendrix is a town in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 79 at both the 2010 and the 2000 censuses. According to the Bryan County Genealogy Society, Hendrix was originally known as Kemp City. This led to it often being confused with the neighboring town that is simply named Kemp. Hendrix was largely destroyed by a 1916 tornado.

The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site is located at 609 S. Lamar Avenue in Denison, Grayson County, in the U.S. state of Texas. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in the house on October 14, 1890, making him the first president of the United States to be born in Texas.

Denison High School is a public high school in Denison, Texas, United States and classified as a 5A school by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). It is part of the Denison Independent School District located in north central Grayson County. For the 2018-2019 school year, the school was given a "B" accountability rating by the Texas Education Agency.

Kemp is a town in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 133 at the 2010 census, a decrease of 7.8 percent from the total of 144 recorded in 2000.

Bloomfield Academy was a Chickasaw school for girls founded in 1852 by the Reverend John Harpole Carr, located in the Chickasaw Nation in Indian Territory, about 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of the present town of Achille, Oklahoma. A boarding school funded by both the Missouri Conference of the Methodist Church and the government of the Chickasaw Nation, it operated there until 1914, which a major fire destroyed most buildings. Now privately owned, the site of the former academy near Achille was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The academy relocated to a new facility in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In 1934 it was renamed as Carter Seminary. In 2004, Carter Seminary moved to a new campus on Lake Texoma, where it continues to operate. It is part of the Chickasaw Children's Village, which offers a variety of programs for youth. The Academy and all other boarding schools in Indian Territory had closed during the Civil War. The property was taken over by the Chickasaw Battalion, a Confederate Army unit. After the war, Carr was appointed to a new position by the Methodist Church South. (The church had split into regional organizations before the Civil War, largely over the issue of slavery.) Carr's second wife died and, after he married for a third time in 1865, the couple moved to Texas. The Chickasaw Nation government took control of Bloomfield Academy and reopened it in 1867, establishing it as coeducational. A series of superintendents directed the school. In 1876 a school for boys was authorized by the Chickasaw council, and Bloomfield returned to serving girls only. Perhaps the most notable superintendent was Douglas H. Johnston, a Chickasaw alumnus who served in the post from 1880 until 1895. In 1897, Johnston was elected as governor of the Chickasaw Nation, a position he held until the Chickasaw government was abolished in 1907 by Oklahoma Statehood.

KYFB (91.5 FM) is a radio station serving the Sherman-Denison area with a conservative religious format. It is a Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN) owned-and-operated station.

Denison is a city in Grayson County, Texas, United States, 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the Texas–Oklahoma border. Its population was 24,479 at the 2020 census, up from 22,682 at the 2010 census. Denison is part of the Texoma region and is one of two principal cities in the Sherman–Denison metropolitan statistical area. Denison is the birthplace of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

In the early 1870s Red River City was a settlement in North Texas, just south of the Red River, which forms the border with the state of Oklahoma. With a population of about 50, it was served by a post office in 1873 and 1874.In 1873 the Houston and Texas Central Railway line reached Red River City, where it connected with the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad. This junction formed an all-railroad route from the main cities of Texas to St. Louis, Missouri and the Eastern United States. The railway crossed the Red River nearby over the Colbert Bridge, which was also completed in 1873, but destroyed by flooding that same year. The line reopened with the second Colbert Bridge in 1892, but it too was destroyed by flooding in 1908. The route was changed for the third bridge at Carpenters Bluff, which opened in 1910.Red River City subsequently became part of Denison, Texas in Grayson County.

The Midway Mall is the only shopping mall in the areas of far North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. The mall is also the only mall outside of the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area and central Oklahoma. The mall sits about one mile east of US Highway 75. The Sherman and Denison, Texas area have a population of about 150,000.
