San Diego River

Pechanga Arena (historically known as the San Diego Sports Arena) is an indoor arena built in 1966 and located in the Midway area of San Diego, California. The arena seats 12,000 for indoor football, 12,920 for ice hockey, indoor soccer and box lacrosse, 14,500 for basketball and tennis, 5,450 for amphitheater concerts and stage shows, 8,900–14,800 for arena concerts, 13,000 for ice shows and the circus, and 16,100 for boxing and mixed martial arts.The arena is currently home to four professional sports teams: the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL), San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) 2013 and the San Diego Strike Force of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Historically, the arena has been home to numerous San Diego-based teams in several different sports. In 2013, U-T San Diego named the arena #3 on its list of the 50 most notable locations in San Diego sports history.

Peik Auxiliary Field also called Peik Field and Peik Airport was an airfield used during World War II to support the San Bernardino Army Air Field, Desert Training Center and San Diego Municipal Airport, called Lindbergh Field. The local Peik Airport was built in 1934 by Arnold Peik, is son Leander Peik (1927-2011) and his family, barnstormers from Wisconsin, that also ran a flight school at the airport. Leander Peik dad taught him to fly when he was 10 years old, he became the airport manager at a young age. With the start of World War II there was a demand for trained pilots and the Army took over the Airport. Auxiliary fields, like Peik, were used to support the training of US Army pilots during World War II. The runway was located in Mission Bay of San Diego, California. The runways as in the southeast corner of Mission Bay, near the current Interstate 5 and Interstate 8 interchange. The entrance to the Peik Auxiliary Field was at the end of Anna Avenue, which at the time extended into Mission Bay. When the I-5 was built Anna Avenue was removed west of the Santa Fe train tracks. For the war, many new trained pilots were needed. Peik Auxiliary Field provided a place for pilots to practice landing and take off without other air traffic. Peik Auxiliary Field site offered flight training without distractions. The United States Army Air Corps's Army Air Forces Basic Flying School, the Army Air Force Pilot School used Peik Auxiliary Field for fighter pilots training. The Army took the runway from 800-feet to 2,600-feet long and 150-feet wide made of turfgrass. To support the training of the many pilots, San Bernardino Army Air Field operated a number of auxiliary airfields. After the war, Peik Auxiliary Field was returned to the Peik family. The Peik family closed the airport in 1955 and no trace of the runway can be found today, the site is open land in Mission Bay with Sea World Drive cutting across the past runway..

SOMA is a concert venue in the Midway neighborhood of San Diego, California, adjacent to the San Diego Sports Arena. It has been described as San Diego's "leading all-ages venue for punk and alternative-rock concerts." It is located at 3350 Sports Arena Blvd.

Midway Arena is a proposed indoor arena to be constructed in San Diego, California. It will have a capacity of 16,000. Ownership, financing and opening are yet to be determined.

Emperor is a Bolliger & Mabillard Dive Coaster at SeaWorld San Diego. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, plans for opening the coaster were pushed back to 2021, before a final opening date of March 12, 2022 was announced.

Tecolote Road station is a San Diego Trolley station in San Diego, California. The station is located adjacent to the 5 Freeway/Tecolote Road interchange. It was developed as a station for the Mid-Coast Trolley extension project, which is an extension for the Blue Line. The station has 279 parking spaces.

Electric Eel is a steel launched coaster at SeaWorld San Diego in San Diego, California. The coaster opened in 2018 and became the park's tallest and fastest roller coaster, and is themed around the Electric eel. An educational centre and exhibit can also be found by the attraction.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is a registered national historic landmark, built in the early 19th century by Juan Bandini and later purchased by Albert Seeley to serve as a stagecoach hotel. In 2010, restorations and added fine dining restaurant revived the hotel to its 1870s charm, making it again a focal point of the original downtown area.

Old Town Transit Center, also known as San Diego–Old Town station or Old Town San Diego station, is an intermodal transportation station located in the Old Town neighborhood of San Diego, California. It is served by Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, the COASTER commuter rail service, and the San Diego Trolley, as well as numerous San Diego Metropolitan Transit System bus lines. The station is located at the intersection of Rosecrans Street/Taylor Street and Pacific Highway, adjacent to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and the freeway intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 8. It is also located about two miles southeast of SeaWorld San Diego and Mission Bay, providing access to the northernmost beaches in the city of San Diego. Free parking (Park & Ride) for up to 24-hours is available in the Transit Center lots.

SeaWorld is an American theme park chain with headquarters in Orlando, Florida. It is a proprietor of marine mammal parks, oceanariums, animal theme parks, and rehabilitation centers owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment (one park will be owned and operated by Miral under a license). The parks feature orcas, sea lion, and dolphin shows and zoological displays featuring various other marine animals. There are operations located within the United States in Orlando, Florida; San Diego, California; San Antonio, Texas; later outside the United States such as Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and previously Aurora, Ohio. On March 5, 2007, SeaWorld Orlando announced addition of the Aquatica water park to its adventure park, which already includes SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. SeaWorld parks also feature thrill rides, including roller coasters like Kraken, Mako and Manta at SeaWorld Orlando, and Steel Eel and The Great White at SeaWorld San Antonio. Journey to Atlantis, a combination roller coaster and splashdown ride, can be found at all three parks. The parks were owned by Busch Entertainment Corp., the family entertainment division of Anheuser-Busch, which is best known for brewing beer. In 2009, Busch Entertainment was sold to the Blackstone Group and subsequently renamed SeaWorld Entertainment. In 2013, Blackstone sold 37% of SeaWorld Entertainment in an initial public offering and sold its remaining 21% holding to Zhonghong Zhuoye in 2017. It is a major theme park competitor to Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products and Universal Parks & Resorts. The parks' marine mammal collections have been the subject of public debate and criticism over the years, with critics saying that the park's practices entail animal abuse. The 2013 documentary film Blackfish, produced after a SeaWorld Orlando trainer was killed by one of the park's orcas, led to initial decreases in attendance, profits and the company's share price. In 2018, SeaWorld's attendance and revenue began to recover with the addition of new rides, shows, and animal exhibits at its parks, as well as increased marketing about the parks' conservation and rescue efforts.In 2016, SeaWorld announced that they would end their in-park orca breeding program and eventually phase out their theatrical orca shows altogether (due to state legislation in California that banned shows using orcas) starting in San Diego. It was announced later in the same year, that SeaWorld would build their first park without killer whales and outside of the United States in Abu Dhabi. However, in 2020, SeaWorld reversed course and started introducing new orca live shows to guests.

Congress Hall was a historical wooden building in San Diego, California built in 1867. The Congress Hall site is a California Historical Landmark No. 66, listed on December 6, 1932, at 4016 Wallace Street, now Fandango Restaurant. Congress Hall building was a Pony Express Station from 1860 to 1861. Congress Hall was for a time a Robertson's saloon and billiard parlor. Congress Hall was built by George Dewitt Clinton and Washington, and Robinson. A historical marker is at the site of the former building a 2734 Calhoun Street, Old Town San Diego. Vincent Llucia purchased the building in 1870. Congress Hall was moved a to a nearby site across the plaza in 1870, by Vincent Llucia, to 4016 Wallace, Old Town San Diego, now Bara Bara saloon, at the southwest Corner of Calhoun Street and Wallace Street. At 4016 Wallace was the ruins of a 1830 house that had been owned by Rosario Aguilar and then Luis Serrano. The crumbling ruins were removed and Congress Hall moved to this lot. In 1884 Llucia changed the building in to a US Post Office. Vincent Llucia and his son, Vincent P. D. Llucia, became the Postmasters. The Congress Hall building was demolished in 1939.

SeaWorld San Diego is an animal theme park, oceanarium, outside aquarium and marine mammal park, in San Diego, California, United States, inside Mission Bay Park. It is owned and operated by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. SeaWorld San Diego is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Adjacent to the property is the Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, which conducts research on marine biology and provides education and outreach on marine issues to the general public, including information in park exhibits.
