Hanover Wayside is a historic wayside and national historic district located near Hanover Courthouse, Hanover County, Virginia. The district includes five contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing structure. It was built about 1937–1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as a Recreation Demonstration Areas project. The buildings are in the rustic style and include the picnic shelter, wayside caretaker's house and public restroom, and garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Montpelier Historic District is a national historic district located at Montpelier, Hanover County, Virginia. The district includes 43 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the village of Montpelier. It includes residences, agricultural buildings, stores, businesses, a church, schools and libraries that illustrate the wide range of building types. Notable buildings include the old school (1876), Church of Our Savior (1882), Grange Hall (1899), Hobart Hardware (c. 1900), Montpelier School (1929), "Norway" House (1936), and "The Oaks" (1936). Located in the district and listed separately is the Sycamore Tavern, the only 18th-century building remaining in the district.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Sycamore Tavern, also known as Shelburn's Tavern and Florence L. Page Memorial Library, is a historic inn and tavern located near Montpelier, Hanover County, Virginia. It was built before 1804, and is a 1 1/2-story, three bay by two bay, frame structure, with a rear shed extension. It is sheathed in weatherboard and has two exterior brick chimneys. An ordinary occupied the building through the 19th century. During the first quarter of the 20th century, Thomas Nelson Page, the noted Virginia author, founded a library in the structure in memory of his wife, Florence Lathrop Field Page.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is located in the Montpelier Historic District.

Oakland is a historic home located near Montpelier, Hanover County, Virginia. It was built in 1898–1846, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, frame farmhouse, with a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay by five bay, rambling wing. It was built on the foundations of a house built in 1812 that was destroyed by fire. Also on the property are a contributing smokehouse and office. Oakland was the home and birthplace of the Virginia novelist, Thomas Nelson Page.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Springfield is a historic home located at Coatesville, Hanover County, Virginia. It was built about 1820, and is a two-story, Federal-style brick residence with a central passage-single pile plan. It measures 48 feet by 20 feet, and is situated on an English basement with two interior end chimneys, a gable roof, and a frame gable-roofed porch. Also on the property are contributing kitchen and meat house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Negro Foot is an unincorporated community in Hanover County, Virginia. The community's unusual name has attracted the attention of media commentators.The origin of the name is obscure. Some say the community was named from an incident when a slave's foot was amputated to prevent another escape, while others believe an act of cannibalism caused the name to be selected. The name "Nigger Foot" appears in older publications. A variant name is "Negro".

Rockville is an unincorporated community in Hanover County in the Central Region of the U.S. state of Virginia. Rockville was named after early 19th century postmaster, William Rock. Prior to the name "Rockville," the community was named "Dentonsville," after postmaster Allen Denton, the descendant of colonial settler Thomas Denton, whose tavern ("Denton's Tavern") exists today as a private residence. When Allen Denton sold the tavern to William Rock, the name of the community also changed to reflect the new postmaster. The community formerly consisted primarily of farmland. Today many Rockville residents commute to jobs in Richmond. While most of the land in the area is still farmland, some of the land has been developed into subdivisions. One example of this is Carrington Glen, a rural conservation development (meaning 70% of the land remains undeveloped and undisturbed by development) of new homes on an old farm tract. Other large neighborhoods in the area include Shop Creek and Willoughby. The local library has recently been renovated, and has nearly doubled in size, thanks to area resident J. Harwood Cochrane, retired founder of Overnight Transportation. The library has changed its name in his honor from the Rockville Library to the Cochrane Rockville Library. The library is in the Pamunkey Library SystemRockville has a variety of recreational sports for children. There is a soccer and baseball field area at the Rockville School Park. There is also a gym and an outdoor pool at the Rockville Center(a private club). Rockville has its own soccer, baseball and swim teams. Some of their baseball teams have achieved excellence, including the 2017 Rockville 8U team that won their division, placed second in the state, and third in the region. That same group of players took their division once again in 2018 as 9 year olds, won the Virginia State Title, finished in second place in the southeast region, and became the first baseball team from Rockville to play in the World Series. In 2019, as 10 year olds, the All-Stars defended the district and state titles, and won the southeast regional tournament, which qualified them to advance to the 2019 World Series. Rockville has several civic associations (i.e.: the Rockville Ruritans and the West Hanover Garden Club, Friends of the Rockville Library) and is home to the Monastery of the Visitation of Holy Mary and the Southern Baptist Convention's International Learning Center (formerly known as the Missionary Learning Center [1]). Rockville is located in the Hanover County Public Schools school district and the children attend South Anna Elementary School Liberty Middle School and Patrick Henry High School.

Scotchtown is a plantation located in Hanover County, Virginia, that from 1771 to 1778 was owned and used as a residence by U.S. Founding Father Patrick Henry, his wife Sarah and their children. He was a revolutionary and elected in 1778 as the first Governor of Virginia. The house is located in Beaverdam, Virginia, 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Ashland, Virginia on VA 685. The house, at 93 feet (28 m) by 35 feet (11 m), is one of the largest 18th-century homes to survive in the Americas. In its present configuration, it has eight substantial rooms on the first floor surrounding a central passage, with a full attic above and English basement with windows below. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965.The house is owned and managed by Preservation Virginia, which operates a number of other historic properties across the Commonwealth, including the John Marshall House, the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse, Bacon's Castle, and Historic Jamestowne.

Wyndham is a census-designated place (CDP) in Henrico County, Virginia, United States, in the West End area outside of Richmond. The population was 9,785 at the 2010 census. The CDP is named for Wyndham, a planned community there. It is an affluent suburb of Richmond, Virginia.
