CenterPoint Energy Tower (formerly Houston Industries Plaza) is a 741 feet (226 m) tall building in downtown Houston. The original building, finished in 1974, stood at 651 feet (198 m), but a 90-foot (27 m) extension was added as part of a 1996 renovation. Designed by Richard Keating, this renovation dramatically changed the building, the Houston Skyline and the downtown. Keating was also the designer of the nearby Wells Fargo Tower. It has the headquarters of CenterPoint Energy.Historically the building housed the headquarters of Houston Industries (HI) and subsidiary Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P). In 1999 Houston Industries changed its name to Reliant Energy. When Reliant Energy moved out of the building and moved into the new Reliant Energy Plaza in 2003, the company left over 400,000 square feet (37,000 m2) of space vacant.Around 1995 the building owners added a circle-shaped canopy that is five stories tall, due to a business competitor down the street having a building taller than theirs. Clifford Pugh of the Houston Chronicle wrote that "It was meant to resemble a lantern, but at night the lit open space looks more like a hovering spaceship."

Hyatt Regency Houston is a 30-story high-rise hotel located in downtown Houston, Texas, United States. The hotel, part of the Hyatt hotel chain, was designed by architectural firm JV III ( a joint venture between firms Caudill Rowlett Scott, Neuhaus & Taylor, and Koetter, Tharp & Cowell) and was opened to guests in 1972. At 401 ft (122 m), Hyatt Regency Houston is the city's tallest hotel The hotel is topped by a revolving restaurant known as "Spindletop". The hotel's 29-story atrium, one of the highest in Texas, was featured as a set in the 1976 film Logan's Run.Hyatt Regency Houston was a host hotel for the 1992 Republican National Convention, the 16th G7 Economic Summit in 1990, and the 1998 World Energy Congress. The hotel completed a $40 million renovation in 2008 that included all 947 guestrooms, a redesigned lobby bar, 64,000 square feet (5,900 m2) of meeting space, and the addition of the only Shula's Steakhouse in Texas.

Enterprise Plaza (also known as 1100 Louisiana) is a 55-story, 230 m (750 ft) skyscraper at 1100 Louisiana Street in downtown Houston, Texas The headquarters of Enterprise Products is located in the Enterprise Plaza. Enterprise Plaza was completed in 1980 by Hines. It was sold in 1985 to Capitol Guidance Corporation which sold it again to National Office Partners Limited Partnership (NOP), a joint venture between Hines Interests Limited Partnership and the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). Hines Real Estate bought the tower in January 2000.Enterprise Plaza is an office building located in the heart of Houston's energy and financial corridor. It stands at 756 ft (230 m) tall with 55 stories. It was the tallest building in Texas from 1980 until 1982 when it was surpassed by the JPMorgan Chase Tower.

The Edward A. Thomas Building, or 1200 Travis, is a 28-story building in Downtown Houston, Texas that is currently occupied by the Houston Police Department as its current headquarters. At one time it was known as the Houston Natural Gas Building. The building houses HPD's administrative and investigative offices.The building, with 575,000 square feet (53,400 m2) of rentable space, has a typical floor size of 16,500 square feet (1,530 m2). The police department's 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2), three-floor crime laboratory, a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) fitness center, a 5,000-square-foot (460 m2) voice/data room, a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) 24-hour emergency tactical command center, and a fingerprinting laboratory are located in the building.

The El Paso Energy Building (also known as the Kinder Morgan Building) is a 502-foot (153 m) high-rise office building located in Houston, Texas. It was completed in 1963 and has 33 floors. It was originally known as the Tenneco Building. It is the 28th tallest building in the city. Because of downtown Houston's diagonal street grid, all four sides of the building are exposed to the sun. The windows are recessed from the frame to control heat and glare from the sun. The footprint of the building is an exact square. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, the architects of the building, were recognized with an Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects in 1969. An elevator or an escalator were required to get to the main lobby of the building because it was raised above the street level. the first 5 floors of the building opened to make a huge glass-enclosed space. A number of drive-through bank kiosks along Louisiana Street were replaced with fountains in 1984.

The Wells Fargo Plaza, formerly the Allied Bank Plaza and First Interstate Bank Plaza, is a skyscraper located at 1000 Louisiana Street in Downtown Houston, Texas in the United States. This building is currently the 20th-tallest Building in the United States, the second tallest building in Texas and Houston, after Houston's JPMorgan Chase Tower, and the tallest all-glass building in the Western Hemisphere. It is the tallest building named for Wells Fargo.From street level, the building is 302.4 meters (992 ft) tall and contains 71 floors. It extends four more stories below street level. Only the Wells Fargo Plaza offers direct access from the street to the Houston tunnel system (a series of underground walkways connecting many of downtown Houston's office towers); otherwise, entry points are from street-level stairs, escalators, and elevators located inside buildings that are connected to the tunnel.Wells Fargo Plaza features a wide variety of fine amenities for its tenants including The Houstonian Lite Health Club located on the 14th floor. Sky lobbies on the 34/35th and 58/59th floors are publicly accessible and offer views of Downtown Houston. These sky lobbies are served by double-decker elevators and primarily serve as transfer floors to local elevators. The entrance of the skyscraper appears in the final scene of 1989 American thriller film Cohen and Tate (also known as "Cohen & Tate")

The Great Southwest Building, formerly the Petroleum Building, is a skyscraper located at 1314 Texas Avenue in Downtown Houston, Texas in the United States.

The Humble Oil Building, is a historic office building, designed in the Italian Renaissance architecture style, located at 1212 Main Street in Houston, Texas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed by Humble Oil and Refining Company in 1921. The tower section was added on to the building in 1936. The building complex served as the company headquarters for Humble Oil and Refining Company from 1921 until 1963, when the company moved into what is now the ExxonMobil Building at 800 Bell Street. In 2003, the building complex was renovated for use as a combination hotel and apartments, the apartment section was converted to additional hotel rooms in 2015.

Wedge International Tower, usually capitalized as WEDGE International Tower, is a skyscraper in Houston, Texas. The building was formerly known as the Southwest Bank of Texas Building, Unitedbank Plaza, and 1415 Louisiana. The building rises 551 feet (168 m) in height. It contains 43 floors, and was completed in 1983. Wedge International Tower currently stands as the 21st-tallest building in the city. The architectural firms who jointly designed the building were 3D/International and Nasr/Penton & Associates. The building is currently named after its primary tenant, WEDGE Commercial Properties; the firm purchased the building in October 1994 at a price between US$25 million and $45 million, and the structure serves as its corporate headquarters. In 1989 Exxon had office space in the Wedge International Tower. Wedge International Tower is noted for having four setbacks in its shape, and for its distinctive lighting scheme, which has been in place since November 1995. The tower was once outlined by neon green-colored lights, inspired by similar lighting on the Bank of America Plaza, the tallest building in Dallas.The 43rd story of Wedge International Tower is home to a restaurant and bar, named The 43rd Restaurant and Lounge; the feature is one of the highest lounges in Houston.Wedge International Tower was the site of a fire in August 1993, which was caused by an electrical fault and damaged the upper floors of the building. There were no fatalities in the incident.

Two Allen Center is a 521 ft (159 m) tall skyscraper in Houston, Texas. It was completed in 1978 and has 36 floors. It is the 24th tallest building in the city. The building has travertine flooring and is Energy Star labelled. It is owned by Brookfield Properties.Two Allen Center hosts the headquarters of Houston-based national tax and business law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka. Chamberlain Hrdlicka is located on the 13th and 14th floors.It was known as the Citicorp Building in 1989. During that year Exxon had office space there.Devon Energy had its Houston office in Two Allen Center. In October 2012 Devon Energy announced that it was closing its office there, affecting 500 jobs.Previously Trizec Properties had its Houston offices in Suite 1100.

The Julia Ideson Building is a Houston Public Library facility in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States. It is named for Julia Bedford Ideson, who served as the system's first head librarian for 40 years.The Spanish Renaissance-style building is part of the Central Library, and houses its archives, manuscripts, and Texas and Local History departments. It is also the site of the Houston Metropolitan Research Center.From 1926 to 1976 it was Houston's sole main library building.
