The Camptown Historic District, also known as the La Mott Historic District and Camp William Penn, is a national historic district located in La Mott, Pennsylvania. It is well known for the residence of famous abolitionist and suffragette Lucretia Mott. It was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It played a crucial role in the Civil War; from 1863 to 1865, it housed Camp William Penn, a military training post for African-American soldiers. Following the war, many of the soldiers bought homes in the area. The area was said to be named "Camptown," but, since there was already another community in Pennsylvania that used that name, the name "La Mott" was chosen when the post office was established in 1885. The district covers 26 acres, and includes 35 contributing buildings.The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

It is a part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1927–1928. It is a three-story, 15 bay, yellow brick building in a Classical Revival-style. It features a projecting center entrance bay with portico and Ionic order columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.Students continue to King High School.

Ogontz Hall is a historic combined residential and commercial building complex in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built in 1929, it consists of six buildings, the primary one being the four-story Ogontz Hall; the others are three stories. The buildings share a commercial front. They have Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with a limestone and buff brick exterior and terra cotta tile roofing.The Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

John L. Kinsey School is a former K-8 school located in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a part of the School District of Philadelphia. As of 2017, the school building is now home to Building 21, a public high school in the innovative school district network. It was designed by Henry deCoursey Richards and built by Cramp & Co. in 1915–1916. It is a four-story, seven bay reinforced concrete and brick building on a raised basement in Late Gothic Revival-style. It features a projecting entrance bay and limestone and terra cotta decorative details.

Old York Road (originally York Road) is a roadway that was built in the 18th century to connect Philadelphia with New York City. Through New Jersey it was built along the Raritan (Unami tribe) "Naraticong Trail", also known as the Tuckaraming Trail. A memorial plaque to the friendship of the Naraticong Indians, who permitted the road to be built over their trail, sits at the intersection of Old York Road and Canal in Raritan, NJ. The Swift Sure Stage Coach Line completed the journey between the two cities in two days and cost only a few dollars. A ferry left Elizabethtown Point for New York City, or passengers could continue onto Newark and ultimately Powles Hook Ferry (present day Exchange Place in Jersey City) via Bergen Point Plank Road/Newark Plank Road.

La Mott is an unincorporated residential community in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It borders Philadelphia along Cheltenham Avenue. The name honors Lucretia Mott, who lived here from the 1850s to her death in 1880. Her house, Roadside, was a major stop on the Underground Railroad. Formerly known as Camp Town, La Mott was the site of Camp William Penn, the first federal training site for black soldiers during the Civil War.

Philadelphia National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1862 as nine leased lots in seven private cemeteries in the Philadelphia region. In 1881, the current location was established and the graves of soldiers were reinterred from the various leased lots. It is administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and managed from offices at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. It is 13 acres in size and contains 13,202 burials. The cemetery contains monuments recognizing the reinterment of soldiers from the Battle of Germantown and the Mexican–American War. A Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument was dedicated in 1912 to honor the reinterment of 184 Confederate prisoners of war who died in Philadelphia area hospitals and camps during the American Civil War. The cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
