Kishorilal Jubilee High School & College (Bengali: কে. এল. জুবিলী স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজ) is a private school in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The school offers education for students ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Zamindar Kishorilal Roy Chowdhury founded the school in 1866. He named the school after himself.

Ruplal House (formerly known as Aratoon House) is a 19th-century mansion in Farashganj area in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was built on the northern bank of the Buriganga River, beside the Buckland Dam. The house was built in 1825 by an Armenian businessman Stephen Aratoon. It was later bought by two merchants, Ruplal Das and his brother Raghunath Das, in 1840. Later, an architect firm of Calcutta, Martin Company, re-constructed this building.

Beauty Boarding (Bengali: বিউটি বোর্ডিং) is a hotel and restaurant located in old Dhaka. It is a historical center of the intellectual gathering of Bengali authors, poets, cultural activists, and politicians. The place has been widely commemorated in their arts and writings. Currently, the place is popular for serving Bengali food, though it also serves other Indian food.

Old Dhaka (Bengali: পুরান ঢাকা, romanized: Puran Dhaka) is a term used to refer to the historic old city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It was founded in 1608 as Jahangirabad or Jahangirnagar (Bengali: জাহাঙ্গীরনগর, romanized: Jahangirnogor, lit. 'City of Jahangir'), the capital of Mughal Province of Bengal and named after the Mughal emperor Jahangir. It is located on the banks of the Buriganga River. It was one of the largest and most prosperous cities of South Asia and the center of the worldwide muslin trade. The then Nawab of Bengal Murshid Quli Khan shifted the capital from Dhaka to Murshidabad in the early-18th century. With the rise of Calcutta (now Kolkata) during the British rule, Dhaka began to decline and came to be known as the "City of Magnificent Ruins". The British however began to develop the modern city from the mid-19th century. Old Dhaka is famous for its variety of foods and amicable living of people of all religions in harmony. The main Muslim festivals celebrated with funfair here are Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha and Ashura, Hindu festivals like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, and Saraswati Puja are also celebrated with enthusiasm. The festivals which are celebrated by all religious communities with much splendor include Shakrain (পৌষ সংক্রান্তি), Pohela Falgun, and Halkhata (হালখাতা). Religion-wise, the old Dhaka is predominantly Muslim, while a significant number of Hindus also reside here. Christians and Buddhists are also inhabitants here in small numbers. Its inhabitants are known as Dhakaiya and converse in the Dhakaiya Kutti and Dhakaiya Urdu languages.

St. Gregory's High School & College, Bangladesh, is a Catholic High School founded in Dhaka, British India, in 1882 by Gregory De Groote, a Belgian Benedictine priest. The school, located on Municipal office street of Luxmibazar neighborhood of old Dhaka, was named after Pope Gregory I (540–604).Brother Leo J. Pereira, CSC is the current principal of the institution.

Dhaka Government Muslim High School (Bengali: ঢাকা গভঃ মুসলিম হাই স্কুল) is a secondary school in Lakshmi Bazaar in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the oldest schools in Dhaka.

St. Francis Xavier's Girls' High School is a Bengali-medium Catholic secondary school in the Old Dhaka area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is operated by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, a Roman Catholic religious order.

The Port of Dhaka is a major river port on the Buriganga River in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. The port is located in the southern part of the city. It is Bangladesh's busiest port in terms of passenger traffic. The port has services to most of the districts of Bangladesh. In 2013, a container terminal opened 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the city to handle ocean-going ships. Along with Barisal, Chandpur and Narayanganj; the Dhaka port handled 53 million tonnes of cargo and 22 million passengers in 2013–14.

Kabi Nazrul Government College (KNGC) is a governmental college located in Laxmi Bazar, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It was formerly known as Govt. Kabi Nazrul College. It offers higher secondary education (HSC). It has bachelor's degree and master's degree programmes as well; these divisions are affiliated with the University of Dhaka.

Pogose Laboratory School and College, IER, Jagannath University (Bengali: পোগোজ ল্যাবরেটরি স্কুল এন্ড কলেজ ,আ.ই.আর,জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) was established in Dhaka on June 12, 1848, as the first private school of the country by Armenian merchant Nicholas Pogose, who was an ex-student of Dhaka Collegiate School. It is located at Chittaranjan Avenue. The school was managed as a proprietary institution and in 1871, about a year after the death of Pogose, it was taken over by Mohini Mohan Das, a banker and zamindar. After the death of Das in 1896 his estate kept the school open.

St Thomas Church is an Anglican Church which is also known as the Church of Bangladesh . The church premise was in an area of lush greeneries with the famous Bahadur Shah Park at a stone's throw distance on the south. The north–south axial Nawabpur Road/Johnson Road, the most important commercial street connecting the old part of the city with the new, is on the west and separated the area from the court, Bank, DC's office and Jagannath University buildings across it. In fact the church overlooking the greens is a major focal of the city centre in the nineteenth century.

Jagannath University (JnU) (Bengali: জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় Jagannātha biśbabidyālaẏa, University Acrostic : জবি or JnU) is a state-funded public university at 9–10, Chittaranjan Avenue in Sadarghat, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Even though it is one of the most famous and academically one of the best universities in Bangladesh, JnU is the only non-residential University in this country Jagannath University is in the southern part of Dhaka city near the River Buriganga and a new super modern campus of approximately 200 acres is being built at Keraniganj. Total campus area is more than 210 acres with three campus and a girls residence hall.
