Shane's Castle

Cookstown Junction railway station served the townland of Drumsough outside Randalstown in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was a single island platform at the junction of the Cookstown extension to Magherafelt, Cookstown, Draperstown and Macfin.

Randalstown (Irish: Baile Raghnaill) is a townland and small town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, between Antrim and Toome. It has a very prominent disused railway viaduct and lies beside Lough Neagh and the Shane's Castle estate. The town is bypassed by the M22 motorway with junctions at both the eastern and western ends of the town. It had a population of 5,151 people in the 2021 Census.

The Battle of Antrim was fought on 7 June 1798, in County Antrim, Ireland during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 between British troops and Irish insurgents led by Henry Joy McCracken. The British won the battle, beating off a rebel attack on Antrim town following the arrival of reinforcements but the county governor, John O'Neill, 1st Viscount O'Neill, was fatally wounded.

Antrim Castle or Massereene Castle was a fortified mansion in Antrim, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on the banks of the Sixmilewater River. It was built in stages between 1613 and 1662. It was destroyed by fire in 1922 and finally demolished in the 1970s. All that remains are a slightly raised grassed platform as well as a freestanding Italian stair tower built in 1887, and a gatehouse built around 1818 with twin neo-Tudor towers, with older connecting walls. The gardens are a popular tourist attraction on Randalstown Road, Antrim.

The Ramble Inn attack was a mass shooting at a rural pub on 2 July 1976 near Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is believed to have been carried out by the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF), a loyalist paramilitary organisation. Six civilians were killed in the attack—five Protestants and one Catholic—and three others were wounded.

The Massereene Barracks shooting took place at Massereene Barracks in Antrim, Northern Ireland. On 7 March 2009, two off-duty British soldiers of 38 Engineer Regiment were shot dead outside the barracks. Two other soldiers and two civilian delivery men were also shot and wounded during the attack. A dissident Irish republican paramilitary group, the Real IRA, claimed responsibility. The shootings were the first British military fatalities in Northern Ireland since 1997. Two days later, the Continuity IRA shot dead Stephen Carroll a Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) officer; the first Northern Ireland police officer to be killed by paramilitaries since 1998.

Massereene Barracks is a former military installation in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The Six Mile Water is a river in southern County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is an indirect tributary of the River Bann, via Lough Neagh.

St Benedict's College is a secondary school in Randalstown, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is an 11-16 Catholic, all ability, co-educational college which mainly serves families from the parishes of Randalstown and Antrim.

St Olcan's High School (Irish: Ardscoil Naomh Olcán) was a Roman Catholic secondary school in Randalstown, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The school opened in 1958 within the North Eastern Education and Library Board area. It was one of two schools which were combined in 2006 to become St Benedict's College. The proposal to amalgamate St Malachy's High School, Antrim and St Olcan's was approved by Angela Smith, the Education Minister for Northern Ireland in March 2006. The combined school was renamed as St Benedict's College. St Malachy's was demolished and a rebuilding programme began on the St Olcan's site around the same time to accommodate new playing courts for tennis, basketball, and soccer, along with new portacabins for additional classrooms.

Randalstown railway station was on the Belfast and Ballymena Railway which ran from Cookstown Junction to Cookstown in Northern Ireland.
