It is part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its postal ZIP Code is 08214. Dennisville is on the south side of Dennis Creek and is the most important community within Dennis Township. The main transportation artery is New Jersey Route 47 (Delsea Drive).

William S. Townsend House is located in the Dennisville section of Dennis Township, Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1811 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 5, 1984. According to the National Register Application: "The house was the home of William S. Townsend, a prominent merchant, farmer, and community leader in Dennisville. Architecturally, the house is an interesting example of the Vernacular Neoclassicial style. Dennis Township is a township in Cape May County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The township, and all of Cape May County, is part of the South Jersey region of the state and of the Ocean City metropolitan statistical area, and is part of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Camden, PA-NJ-DE-MD combined statistical area, also known as the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 6,285, a decrease of 182 (−2.8%) from the 2010 census count of 6,467, which in turn reflected a decline of 25 (−0.4%) from the 6,492 counted in the 2000 census.Dennis Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 1, 1827, from portions of Upper Township. South Dennis is an unincorporated community located within Dennis Township in Cape May County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its postal ZIP Code is 08245. The post office was established in 1873, with Robert Hutchinson as the first postmaster.

Dennis Creek is an 8.8-mile-long (14.2 km) tributary of Delaware Bay in Cape May County, New Jersey in the United States.It originates in the Great Cedar Swamp to the southeast of Dennisville, New Jersey. Passing between Dennisville and South Dennis, it descends into the tidal marshes and joins Sluice Creek and thereafter forms the boundary between Dennis and Middle Townships. Further below, the channel of Roaring Ditch directs much of the flow of East Creek into Dennis Creek before reaching the bay.

The Dennis Township School District, or Dennis Township Public Schools, are a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Dennis Township, in Cape May County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of two schools, had an enrollment of 615 students and 62.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.9:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend Middle Township High School in Cape May Court House, together with students from Avalon, Stone Harbor and Woodbine, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Middle Township Public Schools. The Cape May National Wildlife Refuge is a protected area on the Cape May Peninsula in Cape May County, New Jersey. It is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System and managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Established in January 1989 with 90 acres (0.36 km2) acquired from the Nature Conservancy, it has since grown to more than 11,000 acres (45 km2) in size, and plans call for its further expansion to more than 21,200 acres (86 km2). It comprises three distinct and non-contiguous units: the Delaware Bay Division (in Middle Township), the Great Cedar Swamp Division (in Dennis Township and Upper Township) and the Two Mile Beach Unit (in Lower Township). Located in the Middle Atlantic coastal forests ecoregion, the cape provides habitat for large numbers of migratory birds.

Woodbine Municipal Airport (ICAO: KOBI, FAA LID: OBI, formerly 1N4) is a public use airport located two nautical miles (4 km) southeast of the central business district of Woodbine, in Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. The airport is owned by the Woodbine Port Authority. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned OBI by the FAA, but has no designation from the IATA (which assigned OBI to an airport in Óbidos, Pará, Brazil).
