Stonecrop Gardens is a public garden in Cold Spring, New York, U.S. Formerly the home of Anne and Frank Cabot, the founder of The Garden Conservancy, the ground became a public garden in 1992, directed by Caroline Burgess. A variety of gardens include woodland and water gardens, a bamboo grove, stone beds with alpine flowers, systematic flower beds and an enclosed English flower garden.

Eden Village Camp is a co-ed Jewish sleep-away organic farm camp in Putnam Valley, New York. It is a non-profit sustainable-living "farm-to-table" camp founded by Yoni Stadlin and Vivian Lehrer, located on 248 acres (100 ha) touching the Appalachian Trail, 50 miles north of New York City.

The Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation is a Scout camp owned by the Greater Hudson Valley Council. It is 1,400 acres (5.7 km2) of mostly deciduous forest containing five lakes, bordered by Clarence Fahnestock State Park to the northeast. It has about forty campsites and nine cabins.In the summer months, it is used as one of three Greater Hudson Valley Council Cub Scout camps.

Lake Oscawana is a lake at the heart of Putnam Valley, New York State, United States. The 386-acre (1.6 km2) lake has a depth that ranges from 25 feet (7.6 m) to 30 feet (9.1 m) at its deepest. The lake is fed by a stream from its north end and it drains out into Oscawana Creek at the middle of its southeastern shore. It is located between two hill ranges. Oscawana Creek merges into Peekskill Hollow Creek near the intersection of Peekskill Hollow Road and Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley the hamlet of Lake Peekskill. The lake has a number of houses around its edges, and a peculiar rock formation (Goose rocks) in the center of the lake, accessible most safely by kayak or canoe. Lake Oscawana provides summer recreation, and some local residents use the lake for boating, swimming, and fishing - from one of the lake's several private beaches. It features a variety of wildlife including fish, Canada geese, water snakes, turtles, and an occasional stork. In the summer it is cleaned regularly by a floating weed harvester. In the winter, the lake freezes over and allows for ice skating and ice fishing. Legend has it there are several cars at the bottom of lake from when the ice was not thick enough.Babe Ruth is known to have spent some time on the lake which housed many hotels and resorts in the 1930s. His favorite was called the Casino. Another former resident was Roy Scheider. Scheider's house, which is still owned by his former wife, was filmed in the Adirondack Lake house scene in The Sopranos episode, "Soprano Home Movies".

Canopus Lake is a small lake within Clarence Fahnestock State Park in northern Putnam County, New York, United States. The lake is about 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) long and 120 metres (390 ft) wide at its widest point and 66 acres (27 ha) in area. Immediately to its east is Pelton Pond. The lake is on NY 301 just west of the Taconic State Parkway. The beach at the lake is used for swimming, boating, and fishing. In the winter, some cross-country skiers use the flat surface as a trail. The Appalachian Trail parallels the west side of the lake.

Pelton Pond is an 8 acres (3.2 ha) pond within Clarence Fahnestock State Park in northern Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York.According to an 1849 source it is named after a local miner.

Tinker Hill is a summit in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York. It has an elevation of 935 feet (285 m).The hill was named for the fact that a jack of all trades, or a "tinkering" man, settled there ca. 1800.

Magazzino Italian Art is a museum and research center dedicated to exhibiting postwar and contemporary Italian art and supporting scholarship on the subject. The museum was founded by Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu with the mission to share works of the group of Italian artists who exhibited together in the late 1960s and early 1970s, affiliated with the art movement of Arte Povera, with American audiences. Magazzino opened to the public on June 28, 2017, with an exhibition dedicated to the influence and legacy of Margherita Stein, a late Italian dealer associated with artists active in Arte Povera circles and beyond. The museum is free and open to the public.Magazzino Italian Art is located in Cold Spring, New York, within the Town of Philipstown on U.S. Route 9, on the former Cyberchron site. Magazzino, which means "warehouse" in Italian, consists of an old farmers’ warehouse (later turned into a dairy distribution center and then a computer factory) and a new building by Spanish architect Miguel Quismondo. The building is 20,000 square feet, which includes nearly 18,000 square feet of exhibition space and a 5,000-volume library, housing the Research Center that opened in 2018.In 2018, Magazzino Italian Art became a non-for-profit museum that is operated by Magazzino Italian Art Foundation.

The Indian Brook Road Historic District is located on both sides of that street's intersection with US 9 east of Garrison, New York, United States. Its 30 acres (12 ha) contain 15 buildings, all but two of which are considered contributing properties to its historic character. From the late 18th to mid-20th century, the area was a rural hamlet known first as Warrens and later as Nelson's Corner. Unlike most other such small country settlements, it has survived industrialization and the automobile era with its basic plan, and most of its buildings, relatively intact. In 1993, the area was designated a historic district and added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Peekskill Hollow Creek is a creek in central western Putnam County, New York, mainly in the town of Putnam Valley. Approximately 17 miles (27 km) in length, it originate as the outflow of Lake Tibet in the southwestern part of the town of Kent and flows southwest towards the town of Peekskill in farthest northwest Westchester County. For several miles after leaving Kent it serves as the border between the towns of Carmel and Putnam Valley. Upon leaving Putnam Valley it enters the town of Cortlandt in Westchester County. Approaching the Hudson River it joins the confluence of two much smaller streams, the Sprout Brook and Annsville Creek, named after the latter, by which name all three enter the river after less than a mile. The creek's drainage area, which includes manmade Lake Peekskill in Putnam Valley, is slightly more than 47 square miles (120 km2). There is a small dam 0.8 miles (1.3 km) upstream of its mouth at Van Cortlandtville. In Colonial times and beyond, before Putnam County's topography was well understood and its features given names, it was thought by some that Peekskill Hollow Creek's headwaters drained from what is today's Boyds Corner Reservoir in the town of Kent one mile to Lake Tibet's east. Instead, it drains eastward into the Croton River watershed, part of the New York City water supply system.

Tompkins Corners is a hamlet in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York.

Old Albany Post Road is a 6.6-mile (10.6 km) dirt road in Philipstown, New York, one of the oldest unpaved roads still in use in the United States. It runs mostly north-south through the southeastern corner of the town, near the Putnam Valley town line. Starting from an intersection with Sprout Brook Road at Continental Village just north of the Putnam-Westchester county line, it ends at an oblique junction with US 9 east of Garrison. As the least improved section of the original Albany Post Road, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982. Its history as a formal road dates to the mid-17th century, when it was built on established Native American trails. Later it would see military use, particularly by the Continental Army during the Revolution, and commercial use as part of a stagecoach route. Some of the milestones placed during the early years of American independence to more accurately calculate postal rates are still present and have been preserved and restored. It is still in public use and maintained by the town. The town has recently angered some of the residents by proposing to pave the road.
