Hanson Place Central United Methodist Church

The Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower, also known as One Hanson Place, is a skyscraper in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City. Located at the northeast corner of Ashland Place and Hanson Place near Downtown Brooklyn, the tower is one of Brooklyn's architectural icons. The tower was designed by Halsey, McCormack and Helmer and constructed from 1927 to 1929 as the new headquarters for the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. Prior to 2009, One Hanson Place was the tallest building in Brooklyn at 41 stories and 512 feet (156 m) tall. The main entrance is through a large arch on Hanson Place. At ground level, the building is clad with limestone above a granite dado; three arched windows on Ashland Place overlook the banking room. Above the sixth story, the building is faced in brick with terracotta decoration. A series of setbacks taper to a clock tower with faces measuring 27 feet (8.2 m) across, while the roof is a dome evocative of the bank's previous headquarters at 175 Broadway. Inside is an entrance vestibule and lobby with ornately decorated marble and metalwork. The banking room, measuring 128 by 72 feet (39 by 22 m) with a ceiling 63 feet (19 m) high, is arranged similarly to the parts of a church, with a nave, aisles, and chancel. There is also a lobby in the basement, leading to Atlantic Terminal and the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station, and a mezzanine-level ladies' lounge, overlooking the banking room. The upper stories were originally rented out as offices. The Williamsburgh Savings Bank had occupied three headquarters in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in the 19th century. The bank's officers decided to construct a skyscraper near Downtown Brooklyn for its new headquarters in the mid-1920s. The bank occupied the lowest floors when the building opened on April 1, 1929. The remaining stories were rented as offices, and much of the building contained dentists' offices by the late 20th century. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the tower's exterior as a city landmark in 1977 and similarly designated the interiors of the lobby and banking spaces in 1996. The Williamsburgh Savings Bank became part of HSBC Bank USA through several mergers, and HSBC sold the building in 2004. The building's upper stories were converted to luxury condominium apartments from 2005 to 2007, while the banking hall became an event space.

Atlantic Terminal and Atlantic Center are two shopping malls located on Atlantic Avenue surrounded by Hanson Place, Fort Greene Place and Flatbush Avenue in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, New York City, near Downtown Brooklyn. Atlantic Terminal is located across the street from the Atlantic Center Mall (via a small enclosed bridge from Target), and both are under the same management of Madison International Realty. On December 22, 2017 Atlantic Terminal and Atlantic Center was acquired by Madison International Realty from Forest City Realty Trust. The real estate private equity firm had previously acquired a 49% stake in the Forest City portfolio in 2011 and purchased the remaining 51% in 2017 to make Madison International Realty one of the largest retail landlords in New York. Atlantic Terminal is also an office building and part of the ticket office of the Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Terminal. Parts of Atlantic Center Mall were also renovated to complement the new mall. The malls are both located directly across Atlantic Avenue from Barclays Center arena, in the neighborhood of Pacific Park, which is being developed by Forest City Ratner. In the 1950s, the land was to be the site of a domed baseball stadium proposed by then Brooklyn Dodgers owner Walter O'Malley. However, the plan fell through, and the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is a performing arts venue in Brooklyn, New York City, known as a center for progressive and avant-garde performance. It presented its first performance in 1861 and began operations in its present location in 1908. The Academy is incorporated as a New York State not-for-profit corporation. It has 501(c)(3) status.Katy Clark became president in 2015 and left the institution in 2021. David Binder became artistic director in 2019.

Atlantic Terminal (formerly Flatbush Avenue) is the westernmost stop on the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Atlantic Branch, located at Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. It is the primary terminal for the Far Rockaway, Hempstead, and West Hempstead Branches. The terminal is located in the City Terminal Zone, the LIRR's Zone 1, and thus part of the CityTicket program.

Pacific Park is a mixed-use commercial and residential development project by Forest City Ratner that will consist of 17 high-rise buildings, under construction in Prospect Heights, adjacent to Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, and Fort Greene in Brooklyn, New York City. The project overlaps part of the Atlantic Terminal Urban Renewal Area, but also extends toward the adjacent brownstone neighborhood. Of the 22-acre (8.9 ha) project, 8.4 acres (3.4 ha) is located over a Long Island Rail Road train yard. A major component of the project is the Barclays Center sports arena, which opened on September 21, 2012. Formerly named Atlantic Yards, the project was renamed by the developer in August 2014 as part of a rebranding. The development of Pacific Park is overseen by the Empire State Development Corporation. As of 2018, four of fifteen planned buildings had opened, but the deadline was delayed by about 10 years from 2025 to 2035. The residential component includes the world's tallest modular apartment building, 461 Dean, opened in November 2016.

The Brooklyn Music School is a community school for the performing arts in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York offering in person and online programming. Founded in 1909 as the Brooklyn Music School Settlement, it owns and operates a four-story building located at 126 St. Felix Street that contains twenty-four classrooms, three dance studios, and a 266-seat Spanish Style theatre. The school is a long-standing member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.The Brooklyn Music School Playhouse was also the home of the Little Theatre Opera company in the 1920s. From 2011 until 2018, it was the home of Science, Language & Arts International School (SLA), a French and Mandarin immersion science- and arts-based elementary school. Muse Academy at the Brooklyn Music School was founded in 2018.

The Fulton Street station is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway, located on Lafayette Avenue between South Portland Avenue and Fulton Street in Brooklyn. It is served by the G train at all times.

The Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station (formerly Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street station) is a New York City Subway station complex shared by the BMT Fourth Avenue Line, the BMT Brighton Line and the IRT Eastern Parkway Line, located at Atlantic, Fourth, and Flatbush Avenues and Pacific Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The complex is served by the 2, 4, D, N, Q and R trains at all times; the 3 train at all times except late nights; the 5 and B trains during weekdays; and a few rush-hour W trains. As of 2019, it is the busiest subway station in Brooklyn, with 13,939,794 passengers, and is ranked 20th overall. The control house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980, while the station complex as a whole has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004, and is ADA-compliant.

The Mark Morris Dance Center is located in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, at 3 Lafayette Avenue, on the corner of Flatbush Avenue. It is the permanent home of the international touring modern dance company, the Mark Morris Dance Group. Open since 2001, the Center also houses rehearsal space for the dance community, outreach programs for local children and area residents, as well as a school offering dance classes to students of all ages. In 1996, the Mark Morris Dance Group launched a $7.4 million capital campaign to build what would be its first permanent headquarters in the United States. The Company purchased a derelict building on the corner of Flatbush and Lafayette Avenues in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and broke ground in 1999. The architectural firm, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners, designed the building, which today consists of 5 stories, seven column-free studios with wood-sprung floors, spacious locker rooms with showers, a wellness center, a 140-seat performance space, and offices for the Company's administrative staff. Seven studios are available to rent at discounted rates to non-profit dance companies, and range in size from 430 square feet (40 m2) to 3,600 square feet (330 m2).

The Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) is a non-profit theater in New York City focused on producing Shakespeare and other classic dramas. Its off-Broadway productions have toured in the U.S. and internationally.

The Alloy Block is an under-construction mixed-use development with two buildings in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, New York City, near Downtown Brooklyn. The two buildings, at 80 and 100 Flatbush Avenue, will incorporate residential units, two schools, office space, and a retail base. One of the schools will be an expanded facility for Khalil Gibran International Academy, while the other will be a new 350-seat elementary school. Alloy, the developer, is also partnering with BRIC to turn a building on the site that will not be razed into new spaces for the organization.

The Brooklyn Sports Center, in retrospect known as the Dodger Dome, was a proposed domed stadium for the Brooklyn Dodgers, designed by Buckminster Fuller, that was to replace Ebbets Field for the Brooklyn Dodgers to allow them to stay in New York City. The Dodgers instead moved to Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles. First announced in the early 1950s, the envisioned structure would have seated 52,000 people and been the first domed stadium in the world, opening roughly a decade before Houston's Astrodome. The stadium, in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, would have been located at the northeast corner of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, on the site of the Atlantic Terminal. It would have cost $6 million to build and been privately financed. It was never built. The general area eventually did become a sports venue, because Barclays Center was built across the street to the south from the Atlantic Terminal, in neighboring Pacific Park.
