Manantico Creek, spelled Menantico on federal maps, is an 11.1-mile-long (17.9 km) tributary of the Maurice River in Cumberland County, New Jersey in the United States.Menantico Creek begins in Cumberland County at the confluence of Cedar and Panther Branches, .75 miles (1.2 km) north of Hance Bridge. It flows south/southwest down the eastern forested side of Vineland, through Menantico Lake, then, several miles downstream, meanders through Menantico Ponds. It joins the tidal Maurice River a few miles downstream of Millville approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) below Route 47.

Landis Township was a township that existed in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States from 1864 to 1952. It was named after Charles K. Landis, the founder of Vineland. Landis Township was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 7, 1864, from portions of Millville, based on the results of a referendum held on March 22, 1864. Portions of the township were taken to form Vineland Borough (May 28, 1880). Other transfers of territory were made to Maurice River Township (1873), to Franklin Township (Gloucester County) (1892, returned in 1897) and from Millville (1934).Landis Township lasted until July 1, 1952, when it was combined with Vineland Borough to form Vineland City, based on the results of a referendum held on February 5, 1952.

Cumberland is a small unincorporated community located within Maurice River Township in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. For statistical purposes, Cumberland and neighboring Hesstown together comprise the Cumberland-Hesstown census-designated place. Cumberland contains only a few hundred households, concentrated primarily on Route 49 and Hesstown/Port Elizabeth-Cumberland Road. The community is bordered by Millville and Port Elizabeth in Cumberland County and Estell Manor in Atlantic County. Cumberland is almost exclusively a residential and rural community with only two retail storefronts and several cottage industries. Most residents commute to nearby Millville, Vineland, Bridgeton, or one of the county's three prisons for employment. The greater part of Cumberland is Peaslee Wildlife Management Area, New Jersey's second-largest game reserve. Cumberland is also the home to Cumberland United Methodist Church and graveyard, a station of the New Jersey Department of Roads and Highways, and the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Company.Like other small communities located within Maurice River Township, Cumberland's exact boundaries are unspecified. It does not possess its own ZIP code and is processes it mail through the 08332 Millville United States Post Office. As a result, it is frequently omitted from maps. For this reason, and due to its remote rural location and lack of retail businesses, many lifelong residents of Cumberland County are unaware of the existence of the community of Cumberland. The exact population of Cumberland is unknown because the United States Census Bureau does not delineate the populations of the various settlements within Maurice River Township. The MRT Assessor's office also confirmed the precise number of homes in Cumberland is unknown. Extensive research of historical deeds and other documents located at the Cumberland County Court House dating back several hundred years would be necessary in order to establish the exact boundaries of the town. The Assessor's office indicated that the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Company services district F-04, which includes Cumberland and portions of Milmay. Based on the number of houses located in that district, the assessor estimated the number of households in Cumberland is 200. The settlement of Cumberland built up around the Cumberland Iron Furnace in the 19th century. Cumberland is located in the within New Jersey's ecologically sensitive watershed along the Manumuskin River. In 1810, at the western border of Cumberland, the Manumuskin River was dammed to create what is now known as the Cumberland Pond. The pond was originally created to provide power for the Cumberland Iron Furnace, which no longer exists. It is now a popular location for fishing, canoeing and bird-watching.

Cumberland-Hesstown is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the northern part of Maurice River Township in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Consisting of the unincorporated communities of Cumberland and Hesstown, it is in the eastern part of the county. New Jersey Route 49 passes through the CDP, leading northwest 6 miles (10 km) to Millville and southeast 11 miles (18 km) to Tuckahoe. The area was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Vineland Senior High School North is a public high school located in Vineland, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Vineland Public Schools. The school opened in 1976. It holds classes for 9th and 10th grade students, as well a small number of students from other grades. It is considered to be a different school, but on the same campus of Vineland Senior High School South. As of the 2005–06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,314 students and 122.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8.

The school was ranked 194th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.A proposed dress code, slated to take effect for the 2006-07 school year, had given way to controversy and debate among students and parents.

Vineland High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Vineland, in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Vineland Public Schools. The now reunified school operates from a south campus that had been Vineland Senior High School South (which opened in 1963) and a north campus that was formerly Vineland Senior High School North (opened in 1976). The original high school in Vineland dates back to 1870, and the 1927 Vineland High School structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 3, 1995, and is now used as district offices. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1936; The school's accreditation status was extended for seven years in Fall 2018.As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,780 students and 178.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.6:1. There were 3 students (0.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none listed as eligible for reduced-cost lunch. Millville Senior High School is a comprehensive community public high school located in Millville, in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth thru twelfth grades as part of Millville Public Schools. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1943.Maurice River Township sends 180 students who attend the district's high schools, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Maurice River Township School District. Commercial Township and Lawrence Township also send students to the district's high schools; The sending districts filed suit in 2009, challenging the way in which the Millville district charges for students from outside the district to attend the school. Students from Woodbine had attended the district's high schools as part of a sending/receiving relationship, before the Woodbine district switched to have students attend Middle Township High School starting with freshmen starting school in the 2013–14 school year.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,112 students and 68.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.4:1. There were 549 students (49.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 94 (8.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Vineland is a city and the most populous municipality in Cumberland County, within the U.S. state of New Jersey. Bridgeton and Vineland are the two principal cities of the Vineland-Bridgeton metropolitan statistical area, which encompasses those cities and all of Cumberland County for statistical purposes and which constitutes a part of the Delaware Valley (the Philadelphia metropolitan area). The Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program calculated that the city's population was 60,491 in 2022, ranking the city the 639th-most-populous in the country.Vineland was formed on July 1, 1952, through the merger of Landis Township and Vineland Borough, based on the results of a referendum held on February 5, 1952. Festivities on July 1, 1952, when the merger took effect, included a parade and speeches from such notables as Senator Estes Kefauver. The name is derived from the plans of its founder to use the land to grow grapes.Geographically, the city is part of South Jersey. It has large Italian-American and Hispanic-American populations.

The Manumuskin River is a 16.3-mile-long (26.2 km) tributary of the Maurice River in Cumberland County, New Jersey in the United States. The Manumuskin River flows through a relatively pristine forested area in the southern Pine Barrens of Cumberland County, as well as Atlantic white cedar bogs and salt marshes in its lower reaches. The name is of Lenape origin. It rises approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of Vineland and flows south-southwest, joining the navigable estuary of the Maurice from the northeast approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-southeast of Millville and approximately 7 miles (11 km) upstream from the mouth of the Maurice on Delaware Bay. Approximately 3,500 acres (1,400 ha) of the watershed of the river are included in the Manumuskin River Preserve, established in 1983, the largest conservancy of its kind in New Jersey. Parts of the river are also designed as part of the Maurice Wild and Scenic River. A local nonprofit organization, Citizens United to Protect the Maurice River and Its Tributaries, Inc., is a regional watershed organization that focuses its work on the Maurice River watershed, which includes the Manumuskin.

The Vineland Training School is a non-profit organization in Vineland, New Jersey with the mission of educating people with developmental disabilities so they can live independently. It has been a leader in research and testing. The Training School changed its name several times. According to the website of the Vineland Training School, the original official name was "The New Jersey Home for the Education and Care of Feebleminded Children" (1888). This was changed to "The New Jersey Training School" in 1893. In 1911, the name was changed again to "The Training School at Vineland". In 1965 its name was changed to American Institute for Mental Studies- The Training School Unit, or the "AIMS". Finally in 1988 the name "The Training School at Vineland" was restored. However, the literature also makes reference to the "Vineland Training School for Backward and Feeble-minded Children" and "Vineland Training School for Feeble-Minded Girls and Boys" and other variations. The Psychological Research Laboratory at the Training School was founded in 1906, and was the first research facility devoted to studying mental deficiencies in the US.
