San Tin (Chinese: 新田; Jyutping: san1 tin4) is a proposed station on the Northern Link of the MTR in Hong Kong. The station will be situated at San Tin, an undeveloped area located in Yuen Long District, New Territories. There were originally no stations planned on the main section of the Northern Link, between Kam Sheung Road and Kwu Tung/Lok Ma Chau, but three stations, including San Tin, will be built on this section provided that significant development can be seen in the surrounding area. As of 2012, there are still no construction plans for the station, although the Yuen Long District Council has pressed the government to construct the station "as soon as possible". In 2025, the Hong Kong government authorised the Northern Link development plans, which will see the line and the accompanying stations, including San Tin station be built by 2034.

San Tin

San Tin (Chinese: 新田; lit. 'new fields') is a loosely defined area in Yuen Long District in New Territories, Hong Kong that is part of the San Tin constituency. Unlike Hong Kong's highly urbanised areas, San Tin is sparsely populated due to its marshlands. San Tin is located near Lok Ma Chau. The San Tin Public Transport Interchange services the Lok Ma Chau Control Point–Huanggang Port border crossing, the only 24 hour border crossing between Hong Kong and mainland China.

Lok Ma Chau Control Point

Lok Ma Chau Control Point (Chinese: 落馬洲管制站) is an immigration control point in Lok Ma Chau, Yuen Long District, New Territories, Hong Kong, which is on the border between Hong Kong and mainland China. It opened in 1989 as the third road crossing between the then British dependent territory and China. It started providing 24-hour passenger clearance in January 2003, and is still the only Hong Kong control point with Shenzhen in mainland China to do so. Its counterpart is the Huanggang Port in mainland China, across Sham Chun River and interconnected by the Lok Ma Chau Bridge. Before reaching this point, vehicles must pass through police checkpoints along San Sham Road to Lok Ma Chau Control Point. Permits must be carried in order to pass these points and to travel to the control points.

Lok Ma Chau

Lok Ma Chau or Lokmachau is an area in Hong Kong's New Territories. It is the site of a major pedestrian (linked directly to the Hong Kong rapid transit network) and road border crossing point between Hong Kong and mainland China. Administratively, most of the Lok Ma Chau area is located within the Yuen Long District of Hong Kong.
