New Hartford Township is a township in Winona County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 890 at the 2010 census. Its town hall is located in the unincorporated community of Nodine.

WXOW (channel 19) is a television station in La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States, affiliated with ABC and owned by Allen Media Group. The station's studios and transmitter are located on County Highway 25 in La Crescent, Minnesota. WQOW (channel 18) in Eau Claire operates as a semi-satellite of WXOW, extending the ABC signal into the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin. As such, it simulcasts all network and syndicated programming as provided through WXOW but airs separate commercial inserts, legal identifications, local newscasts and Sunday morning religious programs, and has its own website. WXOW serves the southern half of the La Crosse–Eau Claire market while WQOW serves the northern portion. The two stations are counted as a single unit for ratings purposes. Although WQOW maintains its own studios on Friedeck Road in Eau Claire, master control and some internal operations are based at WXOW's facilities. DirecTV and Dish Network offer both WXOW and WQOW as of September 2010.

The station is part of Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR), and airs WPR's "NPR News & Music Network", consisting of classical music,news, and talk programming. WLSU also broadcasts local news and programming from studios in the Whitney Center at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The community is located on the west side of the Mississippi River along Interstate 90 between Winona and La Crosse. U.S. Highways 61 and 14 are briefly co-signed with Interstate 90 at this point. Dresbach is located along the Mississippi River. Nearby places include Winona, Dakota, Nodine, La Crescent, La Crosse, Onalaska, and Great River Bluffs State Park. Local businesses include the Dresbach travel information center, and Lock and Dam No. 7 on the Mississippi River.

New Hartford is an unincorporated community in New Hartford Township, Winona County, Minnesota, United States. The Pine Creek (Mississippi River tributary) flows through New Hartford.

Lock and Dam No. 7 is a lock and dam located on the Upper Mississippi River at river mile 702.5 near the cities of La Crescent, Minnesota and Onalaska, Wisconsin. It forms pool 7 and Lake Onalaska. The facility was constructed in the mid-1930s and placed in operation on April, 1937. It underwent major rehabilitation from 1989 through 2002. The lock and dam are owned and operated by the St. Paul District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers-Mississippi Valley Division. The lock and dam system consists of a concrete structure 940 feet (286.5 m) long with five roller gates and 11 tainter gates, a segment of earth embankment 8,100 feet (2,468.9 m) long from the dam to French Island separated by a concrete spillway 1,000 feet (304.8 m) long, and another embankment 2,400 feet (731.5 m) long from French Island to Onalaska which has a concrete spillway 670 feet (204.2 m) long. The lock is 110 feet (33.5 m) wide by 600 feet (182.9 m) long. The lock and dam is one of the most visited because of its proximity to Interstate 90, and is clearly visible to travelers crossing the I-90 Mississippi River Bridge.

Lake Onalaska is a reservoir located on the Black River and Mississippi River between Wisconsin, and Minnesota. It is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) across, and is the widest point on the Mississippi River. Located in La Crosse County in the state of Wisconsin, its latitude and longitude are 43°52′01″N 091°18′26″W. The lake is 7,688 acres (31.11 km2) and is shored by the city from which its name came from: Onalaska, Wisconsin. It sits at an altitude of 633 feet (193 m) and is 43 feet (13 m) deep at its deepest.
