Castle Stuart

Petty, or Pettie is a place and parish in Highland, Scotland. The village of Petty is about 7 miles (11 km) north east of Inverness. The parishes of Petty and Bracholy, were united prior to the Reformation. The original parish church was dedicated to Saint Columba. William, Earl of Ross sacked the churches of Petty and Bracholy in 1281. The present parish church was built in 1839.

Castle Stuart Platform was a railway station located near Castle Stuart, to the east of Inverness, now in Highland council area. Opened in 1855 to serve Castle Stuart, the ancestral home of the Earls of Moray, it wasn't listed in public timetables and closed 1938. The structure was still extant as late as 1951, but no trace of it now remains.

Fisherton is a small coastal hamlet, overlooking the Moray Firth, and situated 3 miles northeast of Inverness in Inverness-shire, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland.

Dalcross was a railway station located at Dalcross, to the east of Inverness, Scotland (now in the Highland Council Area). It opened in 1855 and closed in 1965. A new station in Dalcross was opened on 2 February 2023.

Balloch (; Scottish Gaelic: Baile an Locha, IPA:[ˈpaləˈanˈɫ̪ɔxə]) is a residential village four miles (6.4 km) east of the city of Inverness, Scotland.Many children living in the area attend Culloden Academy. Balloch also has a primary school, local shop, a village hall, a bowling club, a village trust and a community council. The Scottish School of Forestry also opened in Balloch in 2015, as part of Inverness College UHI. Like nearby Culloden, Balloch is a village of some antiquity.

Culloden Academy (Scottish Gaelic: Acadamaidh Cùil Lodair) is a non-denominational secondary school in Culloden, Highland, Scotland. The present enrollment is 1,117 pupils. The catchment area includes Balloch, Croy, Smithton, Cradlehall and Ardersier in the east of Inverness.

Highland Aviation Training Ltd is an Approved Training Organisation at Inverness Airport. Highland Aviation offers flight training and aircraft maintenance, including Piper and Cessna Aeroplanes and Autogyro/Rotorsport Gyrocopters. Highland Aviation provides training towards the UK Part-FCL PPL(A), the UK Part-FCL LAPL(A) and the UK Gyrocopter PPL(G). It also provides training for the UK CAA IMC rating IR(R) and the night rating.In addition to these ratings Highland Aviation also provides beach landing courses and mountain flying training.

Allanfearn (, Scottish Gaelic: An t-Àilean Feàrna) is a small settlement, it lies 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland, within the Scottish council area of Highland.

Chanonry Point (Scottish Gaelic: Gob na Cananaich) lies at the end of Chanonry Ness, a spit of land extending into the Moray Firth between Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle, Scotland.

Culloden ( ; from Scottish Gaelic Cùl Lodain, "back of the small pond"; modern Gaelic Cùil Lodair) is the name of a village three miles (five kilometres) east of Inverness, Scotland and the surrounding area. 3 mi (5 km) east of the village is Drumossie Moor, site of the Battle of Culloden.

Allanfearn was a railway station located near Culloden, outside Inverness, Highland, Scotland. It was initially named Culloden when opened, but was renamed to Allanfearn in November 1898, to avoid confusion with the station at Culloden Moor on the newly opened direct line from Inverness to Aviemore.

The Barn Church is a parish church of the Church of Scotland at Culloden, in the Presbytery of Inverness. Although the congregation is relatively young, and only received full status as a parish church in its own right in the late 1980s, the building is of considerable historical interest. It was originally built as a tithe barn for the estate of Culloden House, and in 1746 it was used by the Jacobite army as accommodation on the night before the Battle of Culloden. During the 19th century it was used as a blacksmith's workshop, before being taken over by the East Church of Inverness as a mission station in the early 20th century. When it was granted the status of a church extension charge in the 1970s, the congregation erected a new church called "the New Barn" (designed with architectural "barn metaphors") which is joined to the old building; the historic building (the "Old Barn") today serves as the church hall. Interesting architectural features of the Old Barn include the slit windows for defensive purposes and the parallel doors which can create a wind tunnel required for winnowing. The Church serves the Culloden, Balloch, Smithton, Westhill and Cradlehall areas on the outskirts of Inverness. On Friday, 14 November 2014, the new minister, the Rev. Mike Robertson, was ordained and inducted. The previous minister, the Rev. Jim Robertson, had served for about 20 years.
