Waddington (village), New York

Waddington is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 2,266 at the 2010 census. The town was named after its principal village. The Town of Waddington has a village, also called Waddington. Both town and village are on the northern edge of the county, north of Canton.

Waddington Historic District is a national historic district located at Waddington in St. Lawrence County, New York. The district includes 11 contributing buildings. Among them are the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1816), Town Hall (1884), Hepburn Library (1919), and homes dating back to the 1820s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

South Dundas is a municipality in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. It is located approximately 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of Ottawa and is midway between Kingston and Montreal, Quebec.

Dundas County is a former county in the province of Ontario, Canada. It was named after Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, who was the British Home Secretary (1791–1794), with responsibility for the colonies. Dundas was first settled by individuals of European background in 1784, when German Loyalists who had fought with Sir John Johnson in the American Revolutionary War re-settled in Canada. The settlers were descendants of the Palatine immigrants to America in 1710.

United Presbyterian Church is an historic Presbyterian church located at Lisbon in St. Lawrence County, New York. It was built in 1857 and is a rectangular gable roofed frame building, three bays wide and four bays deep. It was modified and enlarged in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Attached to the main block is a two-story Sunday school wing.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Lisbon Railroad Depot is a historic railway station located at Lisbon in St. Lawrence County, New York. Lisbon was first served with a station in the 1850s by the Ogdensburg and Lake Champlain Railroad. The current building was built in 1930 as the second reconstruction of a railway depot at Lisbon by the Rutland Railway. It is a one-story, frame building, measuring 23 feet by 68 feet with a hipped roof and wide overhanging eaves. It closed as a depot in 1961 and is now the town museum.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Lisbon Town Hall is a historic town hall building located in the Town of Lisbon in St. Lawrence County, New York. It was built in 1889 and is a large frame barn like structure with Queen Anne style decoration. It is a 2+1⁄2-story building with an exposed basement of local stone and a gambrel roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Lisbon is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 4,102 at the 2010 census. By some accounts, the town is named after Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. However, the 1810 US Census for the town shows the town's name as Lisburn, which is a city located in Northern Ireland adjacent to the capital of Belfast. Belfast was the birthplace of Alexander Macomb, the prosperous New York City merchant of Loyalist sympathies. Earlier in 1791, he purchased much of Northern New York along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario, which the state had released for public sale after cession of the land by the Iroquois. With partners, Macomb sold the land for development. The Town of Lisbon is in the northern part of the county and is northwest of Canton.

Conestoga was an iron-clad wooden steam freighter constructed in 1878. In 1922, Conestoga caught fire at Cardinal, Ontario and sank.

Winchester Airport (TC LID: CNA8) was located 3 NM (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) south of Winchester, Ontario, Canada, south of Ottawa. The airport had two runways, one paved and one grass. The aerodrome was permanently closed as of May 15, 2012. The NOTAM entry published by NAV Canada reads: CNA8 WEF 2012 MAY 15 0401 AMEND PUB: AD PERM CLSD The paved runway appears to have been removed, but hangar and other buildings remain on site after the closure.
