Bergen (village), New York

The Lake Street Historic District is located along the west side of that street, state highway NY 19, in downtown Bergen, New York, United States. It contains several of Romanesque Revival style buildings from the last decades of the 19th century and the first two of the early 20th. Most were built after the village banned wooden buildings following two devastating fires in the area. One is currently used as Bergen's municipal building. Several of the buildings have intact cast iron storefronts. It was designated a historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

It is situated near the New York I-490. Locally, the town's name is pronounced RYE-ga, instead of REE-ga like the capital of Latvia.

Riga Academy is a historic building located at Riga in Monroe County, New York. It was constructed in 1811 and is a two-story, five bay Federal style building. Built originally as a tavern and inn, it was converted for use as an academy in 1846. It was used as a school from 1847 to 1861, at which time it became a private residence.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Churchville is a village in Monroe County, New York, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population was 1,961. The village is named after Samuel Church, an early settler.The village is west of the City of Rochester in the north part of the Town of Riga. It is at the intersection of Routes 33 and 36, north of Interstate 490. Churchville Park and golf course are north of the village near Hutton Circle and Kendall Road.

The Bergen-Byron Swamp is a protected 2,000-acre (810 ha) swamp and nature preserve located in the towns of Byron and Bergen, New York. It is over 10,000 years old. The Bergen Swamp Preservation Society was formed in 1935 to protect and preserve this delicate ecological environment. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1964, the first such site to be designated.

North Bergen is a hamlet in the town of Bergen in Genesee County, New York, United States.

The Gifford–Walker Farm, also known as the Alice Walker Farm, is located on North Bergen Road (Genesee County Route 14) in North Bergen, New York, United States. Its farmhouse is a two-story Carpenter Gothic style structure built in 1870.It has remained largely intact since it was construction, and has only been owned by three families. In 1980 it and an accompanying barn and shed were listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the northernmost property in the county listed.

Fossil Coral Reef, also known locally as Bradbury Quarry, is a 100-acre (0.40 km2) abandoned limestone quarry in Le Roy, New York. It contains a well-preserved Middle Devonian coral reef along with rare tabulate and rugose corals, crinoids, gastropods, and trilobites. The site was declared a National Natural Landmark in November 1967. It is often used by local paleontology classes.

The Marion Steam Shovel, also known as the Le Roy Steam Shovel, is a historic Model 91 steam shovel manufactured by the Marion Steam Shovel and Dredge Company of Marion, Ohio. It is located on Gulf Road in the Town of Le Roy, New York, United States. Representative of the type of technology developed in the late 19th century and early 20th century to provide large, inexpensive supplies of crushed stone for the vast American railroad network and later for the road construction, it is believed to be the largest intact steam shovel remaining in the world, and may have been used in the excavation of the Panama Canal. No longer operational, it was moved to its current site in the mid-20th century. It is currently owned by the town. In 2008 it became the first steam shovel listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the only listing in the Town of Le Roy and the easternmost in Genesee County.

The 1970 Lehigh Valley Railroad derailment was a train derailment in the town of Le Roy, New York which resulted in a spill of toxic chemicals.

Le Roy Airport is a public use airport in Genesee County, New York, United States. It is located two nautical miles (3.7 km) east of the central business district of the Le Roy, a village in the Town of Le Roy. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2007–2011, it is categorized as a reliever airport.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned 5G0 by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.On Sunday, October 27, 2019, at approximately 3PM, four people were injured when a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza crashed on takeoff from the airport.
