Walton (village), New York

Walton is a town in Delaware County, New York, United States. The population was 5,270 at the 2020 census. The town is in the west-central part of the county and contains the village of Walton. The town claims to be the "Scarecrow Capital of the World." Walton was formed in 1797 from the town of Franklin. The original settlement, near the site of the village of Walton, occurred in 1785.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church building located at Walton in Delaware County, New York. It was built in 1832 in the Federal Gothic style and received an overlay of Victorian period decoration in 1883. It is a wood-frame structure and characterized by a rectangular meeting house plan, including a vestibule, nave, chancel, and sacristy. It features a steep gable roof and a central projecting entrance tower surmounted by a wooden belfry. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Gardiner Place Historic District is a national historic district located at Walton in Delaware County, New York. The district contains three contributing buildings. They are the Village Hall, Ogden Free Library, and the separately listed U.S. Post Office.>It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

US Post Office-Walton is a historic post office building located at Walton in Delaware County, New York, United States. It was built in 1936–1937, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, Louis A. Simon. It is a one-story, five-bay, steel frame building on a raised limestone clad foundation in the Colonial Revival style. The front section is symmetrically massed and features a slightly recessed, three bay central entrance. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It is located in the Gardiner Place Historic District.

First Congregational Church of Walton is a historic Congregational church located at Walton, Delaware County, New York. The earliest section of the church was built in 1840, and was extended by 16 feet in 1862. It is of wood-frame construction with clapboard siding and a gable roof with an engaged, projecting three-stage bell tower. The church was remodeled in 1931. The front facade features a pedimented projecting portico supported by four Doric order columns added in 1931. Attached to the church is the Church House, consisting of a two-story connector wing with a gabled roof and a larger-scale, two-story pavilion with a hipped roof and gabled dormer. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Walton Grange No. 1454 is a historic Grange building located at 137 Stockton Avenue in Walton in Delaware County, New York, United States. Designed by architects Randall and Gilbert of Walton and built in 1886, it consists of a two-story administration building with an attached gable roofed drill shed. It was occupied from 1886-1896 by the 33rd Separate Company then vacated in 1896 and converted for use as a school and a Grange hall. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 as Walton Grange #1454-Former Armory. The Stockton Avenue Armory, a National Guard armory built in 1896, is located next to the Grange building. It was designed by Isaac Perry. It was occupied from 1896 to 1965 and converted to White Castle Department Store in 1966. It is now known as the Castle on the Delaware and is being restored to host events. It is also home to a cafe. In 2016 it was separately listed on the National Register as the Second Walton Armory (33rd Separate Company). The South Street Armory, located at 55 South Street, was constructed in 1965.
