Germantown (CDP), New York

The German Reformed Sanctity Church Parsonage, also known as the First Reformed Church Parsonage, is located on Maple Avenue in Germantown, New York, United States. It is a wood, brick and stone building dating to the mid-18th century, the oldest building in the town of Germantown. In 1976 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.At the time of its construction the area, known as East Camp, supported a thriving Palatine German population. The residents were either refugees who had fled to England during the War of the Spanish Succession and been resettled in the Hudson Valley as part of a failed scheme to produce naval stores in the Hudson Valley, or their descendants; many later generations in turn moved on to other areas. The church had been established shortly after the first Palatines arrived; the parsonage was built in the 1740s. Two decades later it was expanded to its current size. The church sold the house in the early 19th century; its pastors continued to live there for another quarter-century. Throughout most of the later 19th and 20th centuries it housed different local families, primarily African American. By the 1940s it required extensive renovations that added modern amenities. Today it is the property of the town of Germantown. It houses the town's history department. An archaeological dig in the vicinity by a professor at nearby Bard College has yielded many artifacts, some of which are on display inside. Barringer–Overbaugh–Lasher House is a historic home located at Germantown, Columbia County, New York. The original section was built about 1800, and expanded about 1865. It is a small 1+1⁄2-story, "L"-shaped vernacular frame dwelling with a lean-to addition. The front facade features a Late Victorian period porch.: 3, 7 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Germantown is a town in Columbia County, New York, United States. The population was 1,936 at the 2020 census, down slightly from 1,954 in 2010. Germantown is located in the south-western part of the county along the east side of the Hudson River.

Charles H. Coons Farm, also known as the Prospect Fruit Farm, is a historic home and farm and national historic district located at Germantown, Columbia County, New York. The main farmhouse was built about 1880, and is a two-story, rectangular frame dwelling with Italianate style design elements. It sits o s stone foundation and has an intersecting gable roof. The front facade features a full-width verandah. Also on the property are the contributing New World Dutch Barn and attached shed (c. 1810), Horse Barn (c. 1880), Small Shed (c. 1900), and Windmill and water pump (c. 1910).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Simeon Rockefeller House, also known as Rockefeller Tavern, is a historic house located in Germantown, New York. The beginnings of the noted family in American history can be traced to this historic home. As indicated on the historical marker placed by the State of New York, it was the home Simeon or Simon Rockefeller (1730–1795), son of the immigrant Diell Rockefeller. This family originated among the Palatine Germans who immigrated to Columbia County seeking religious freedom. Descendants include John D. Rockefeller who was known to have visited the site. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. While it is now undergoing restoration as a private residence, it was originally a stage stop, tavern, and restaurant. In addition, the early settlers engaged in farming. It is a plain structure with colonnades on a double porch. It is built with fieldstone and as was typical, had a basement kitchen. The house was in poor condition and had had many unsympathetic alterations when it was bought by Mary Black and Michael J. Blackstone. The two friends restored the building and used it as separate but conjoined residences; the central hall was agreed upon as the dividing line, and both agreed to give the other veto power over any exterior alterations.

The Greene County Nuclear Power Plant was proposed in 1974 by the Power Authority of the State of New York. A single 1,212 MWe Babcock & Wilcox pressurized water reactor was to be built approximately 5 miles south of Catskill, New York on the western shore of the Hudson River, but the plant proposal was canceled in 1979, largely due to concerns over social and economic disruptions to the local communities.

The Stone Jug is a historic house at the corner of NY 9G and Jug Road in Clermont, New York, United States. It dates to the mid-18th century and is largely intact, although it has been expanded somewhat since then. It was built by Konradt Lasher, a Palatine German immigrant to the area who first farmed as a tenant of Robert Livingston. Unusually in an area where brick was the favored material, he chose stone. In the mid-19th century his descendants bought the land and built a farmhouse, now across the street. It, the stone house and several other buildings from the Lasher family farm were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Later, in 1992, it became a contributing property to the Hudson River Historic District, a National Historic Landmark.

Cementon is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Catskill in Greene County, New York, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The community is in the southeastern corner of Greene County, bordered to the east by the Hudson River and to the south by the town of Saugerties in Ulster County. U.S. Route 9W forms the western edge of the community, leading north 7 miles (11 km) to Catskill village and south 4.5 miles (7.2 km) to Saugerties village.

Dick House is a historic home located at Germantown in Columbia County, New York. It was built about 1860 and is five bays wide and two bays deep with a gable roof. There is a flat roofed west wing. It has a center hall plan with Italianate style detailing on the interior.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Clarkson Chapel is located on New York State Route 9G (NY 9G) in Clermont, New York, United States, just across from the Coons House. It is a mid-19th century wooden building in the Carpenter Gothic style. Levinus Clarkson, a local landowner who had married into the Livingston family, constructed it in 1860 for a group of dissident Episcopalians that included himself. At the time it was on the grounds of his estate, Knollwood. In 1983, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nine years later, when the Hudson River Historic District was created and designated a National Historic Landmark, it also became a contributing property to that district. It has since passed from the Livingston descendants to Columbia County.

The Coons House is located along NY 9G in Clermont, New York, United States, across the road from the Clarkson Chapel. It was built in the mid-19th century in the Greek Revival architectural style. It is the only Greek Revival house in Clermont to have been built in the full temple style, with a front colonnade. In 1983 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, where it is also a contributing property to the Hudson River Historic District, a National Historic Landmark.

Clermont Estates Historic District is a national historic district located near Germantown in Columbia County, New York, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. When listed, it included 34 contributing buildings, including the Clermont Manor, which is also a New York State Historic Site. In 1990, the district was subsumed, along with the Sixteen Mile District, into the Hudson River Historic District.
