Rancho Ojai

The Ojai Valley Inn, or Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, is a 220-acre resort and golf course (89 ha) in Ojai, California. The golf course was developed in 1923, and the inn began in the 1930s. The property has undergone multiple renovations and expansions over the years, including the addition of the Spa Ojai in 1997.

The Ojai Music Festival is an annual classical music festival in the United States. Held in Ojai, California (75 miles northwest of Los Angeles), for four days every June, the festival presents music, symposia, and educational programs emphasizing adventurous, eclectic, and challenging music, principally by contemporary composers. A secondary focus of the Festival is the discovery or rediscovery of rare or little known works by past masters. The primary performance venue is the Libbey Bowl, an open-air setting not far from the center of Ojai.

Bart's Books is a bookstore in Ojai, California. It was founded by Richard Bartindale in 1964. In the outdoor section, shelves of books face the street, and patrons are asked to drop coins into the door's coin box to pay for any books they take whenever the store is closed. Bart's Books has been featured in the 2010 movie Easy A and novels.

Ojai ( OH-hy; Chumash: ’Awhaỳ) is a city in Ventura County, California. Located in the Ojai Valley, it is northwest of Los Angeles and east of Santa Barbara. The valley is part of the east–west trending Western Transverse Ranges and is about 10 miles (16 km) long by 3 miles (5 km) wide and divided into a lower and an upper valley, each of similar size, surrounded by hills and mountains. The population was 7,637 at the 2020 census, up from 7,461 at the 2010 census. Ojai is known for its boutique hotels, recreation opportunities, hiking, and farmers' market of local organic agriculture. It has small businesses specializing in local and ecologically friendly art, design, and home improvement. Chain stores are prohibited by city ordinance to encourage local small business development and retain the town's character. The name Ojai is derived from the Mexican-era Rancho Ojai, which in turn took its name from the Ventureño Chumash word 'Awha'y, meaning "Moon". The city's self-styled nickname is "Shangri-La" referencing the natural environment of this health and spirituality-focused region as well as the mystical sanctuary of the 1937 film adaptation of James Hilton's novel Lost Horizon.

The Moore House is a residential home in Ojai, California designed by Modernist architect Richard Neutra in 1952 .Neutra received the AIA First Honor Award for the building's design in 1954.

Villanova Preparatory School (commonly known as Villanova Prep) is an Augustinian Catholic co-ed day and boarding school in Ojai, California, United States. Sitting on more than 130 acres (53 ha), the campus contains two dormitories, a chapel, trails, and assorted academic and athletic facilities. Villanova Prep is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and is a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association. The school offers both day and resident programs and is the only co-ed Augustinian boarding school in the United States. In 2015-16, Villanova Prep's student enrollment was 265. Boarding students comprised 34% of the student body and represented 14 countries.

Casa Barranca, more commonly referred to as Charles M. Pratt House, near Ojai, California is a historic Arts and Crafts-style house that was built in 1909 as a winter home for industrialist Charles Millard Pratt. It is one of the "ultimate bungalows" designed by architects Charles and Henry Greene of Greene and Greene. It is a unique house, built for a client with "unlimited resources" in a rural location that allowed the architects to place the house "in a truly natural setting"; this "was the fulfillment of a lifelong interest of the architects." With the building site chosen within the original 14 acre parcel, an adjacent 38-acre parcel was purchased to preserve "the all important viewshed to which the house is directed." The combination of factors allowed the work to be created very consistently with intended principles of the Arts and Crafts movement. The structure and cladding of the building are almost completely honest and devoid of mannered veneers and false beams contained in the other "ultimate bungalows". It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. As of the listing, the house and views are perfectly preserved.The Pratts partially owned the nearby Foothills Hotel, which they could use for entertaining, so "they only needed the house to serve as “sleeping quarters” and family relaxation."
