Community Memorial Hospital of San Buenaventura is a 242-bed community-based teaching hospital located in Ventura, California. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission. In the most recent year with available data, 38,013 patients visited the emergency department, 13,314 patients were admitted to the hospital, and physicians performed 4,133 inpatient and 7,151 outpatient surgeries.Community Memorial Hospital started as a single hospital in 1901. Today it has grown into an expansive healthcare system with two hospitals and eleven family practice centers serving various communities in the Ventura County area.Community Memorial Hospital has begun building a new six-story, 325,000-square-foot (30,200 m2) hospital next to the current location. The new building was scheduled to open in 2015, but is now expected to open in December 2018, and will have 250 private rooms.

St. Bonaventure High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Ventura, California, United States. This college preparatory institution was founded on the spiritual ideals of St. Francis of Assisi and the academic fervor of its namesake, St. Bonaventure. The nearby Mission San Buenaventura was founded by the Franciscan order in 1782 and was also named after Saint Bonaventure. The school's mascot, the Seraph, was derived from one of the titles of Bonaventure, "Seraphic Doctor".

Baxter Art Gallery was an art exhibition space at the California Institute of Technology, founded by Professor of Literature David R. Smith in 1971, and David Smith became the first gallery director. The little gallery was nationally known for its daring exhibits of contemporary art. When it closed in 1985 for financial reasons, the Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution requested all its records. The board of governors considered to relocate the gallery, then in 1989, it in collaboration with the Pasadena Arts Workshop became the Armory Center for the Arts.In memory of the gallery, several original exhibition posters are hanging in Baxter Hall, Caltech.

Ventura County Medical Center is a hospital in the city of Ventura, California, United States. It is a Level II Trauma Center with 274 bed acute care hospital. The county also operates a 49-bed campus in Santa Paula. As a teaching hospital, affiliated with University of California, Los Angeles, it was recognized as the best family-medicine residency program in the United States in 2014.A 220,000 square-foot state-of-the-art replacement wing is currently under construction to meet California's updated seismic regulations, and is scheduled its completion mid 2017. replacing older facilities built in 1923 and 1953.

The Thomas Gould Jr. House is a historic house located at 402 Lynn Drive in Ventura, California. Architect Henry Mather Greene designed the American Craftsman style California bungalow, which was built in 1924. The house is considered one of the best examples of Henry Greene's independent work; most of his other designs were created alongside his brother Charles as Greene & Greene. The two-story house has a wood frame and redwood siding and window casings. The gable roof features truncated ends and a small gable on the front side which resembles a dormer. The house's interior decorations include ceiling moldings, a leaded glass china cabinet, and a carved mirror, the latter being the only piece of furniture designed by Greene himself.The historic residence was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Ventura County Christian School is a private, nondenominational Christian school in Ventura, California. VCCS began in 1994 as a high school only (Grades 9–12). In 2003 it began hosting all grades K-12, and moved to a separate building on MacMillan Avenue. It currently has approximately 90 high school students, and an average class size of 15 students.

San Buenaventura State Beach is a beach located in Ventura, California. The primary entrance is located at 901 Pedro Street, off the 101 Freeway. This beach consists of a 1,700-foot (520 m) pier that has a snack bar, restaurant, and bait shop. People often come to this beach to surf, swim, and picnic. This is the beginning of the Omer Rains Bike Trail system that leads to other nearby beaches.Several special events take place in this place, such as the Pirate Festival, triathlon, the "Seaside Invitational" cross country meet, the State Junior Lifeguards Program that is held each summer, and volleyball tournaments.The nesting of the Snowy plover is monitored here, and temporary informational/warning signs and fences (or ropes) are erected near nest sites during the breeding season. To help in the recovery of the bird, nonnative vegetation that threatens the beach habitat has been removed, and beach goers are educated as to the sensitive nature of the area to dunes and other sandy areas.

Operating from 1948 to 2021, KVEN last carried sports radio programming from the national CBS Sports Radio network, with no locally-originated programming. It was owned by Cumulus Media and broadcast with a power of 1,000 watts.

Dudley House in Ventura, California is a historic house museum built in 1891 in a Late Victorian-style. Designed and built by local architect and builder Selwyn Shaw, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. At the time of the NRHP listing, the farmhouse was occupied by the fifth generation of the Dudley family and the property included nine out of an original 200 acres (81 ha). The property was deemed significant for its architecture and for its association with this farming family; it was then the last surviving family farm in the city of Ventura.Owned by the city of Ventura, the house is managed by San Buenaventura Heritage, Inc. which opens the house for tours on a limited basis.
