Talinranta

Tali (Swedish: Tali) is a neighbourhood located in Pitäjänmäki district of Western Helsinki, Finland. As of 2008, Tali has 1,078 inhabitants living in an area of 1.01 km2.The race track hosted the steeplechase eventing equestrian competition for the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Talinhuippu (‘The Tali hilltop’) is a former dumping ground known as the Iso-Huopalahti dumping ground, and was one of the “big three” dumping grounds in Helsinki at the time it was in operation. The site is located at the boundary between Helsinki and Espoo and was in use from 1963 to 1979. It is located between Talinranta, the Tali Golf Course and the Vermo harness racing track, on the northern shore of the Laajalahti Bay, north of Tarvo Island and Finnish national road 1.

Pajamäki (Swedish: Smedjebacka) is a neighborhood of Helsinki, Finland. It is located in Pitäjänmäki district. As of 2008, Pajamäki has 1,802 inhabitants living in an area of 0.27 km2.

The Pajamäki Solar System Scale Model is a scale model of the Solar System built in Helsinki and partly in Espoo, Finland in 1992. Its scale is 1:1 000 000 000, i.e. one to one billion, so that 1 millimeter in the model corresponds to 1 000 kilometers in the actual Solar System. The coordinates given for the model are those for the Sun in Patterinmäki. The model was designed by the amateur astronomer Leo Sulamaa, who has had his own observatory in Pajamäki.

Lycée franco-finladais d'Helsinki (Finnish: Helsingin ranskalais-suomalainen koulu HRSK) is a Franco-Finnish school in Helsinki, Finland founded by French Catherine Servé in 1947. It is run by the Finnish state since 1977 with a Finnish school system, the Republic of France paying wages of 7-10 teachers. Students graduating there receive the Finnish matriculation examination and French government give to students the diplomas of equal value of French baccalauréat.The school's architecture was worked on by Finnish architect Aino Kallio-Ericsson in 1956.

Finnvox Studios is a recording studio located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland. It was founded by Erkki Ertesuo, Kurt Juuranto and Lejos Inc. in 1965 and is the longest running studio recording facility in Finland. The original multi-track recording equipment and continuous technical updates of the studio machines and acoustics soon made Finnvox the most sought after studio in the country. Finnish artists which recorded at Finnvox in the 1970s include Rauli Somerjoki, M. A. Numminen and their bands, Wigwam, Agit-prop and many others. Up until the 1990s, Finnvox also operated a vinyl record mastering and pressing facility, which was later converted in new studio rooms and in a mixing and recording room for film and TV productions. Currently, Finnvox occupy 2000 square feet and has nine studio rooms, five of which are used for recording and mixing, three for mastering and editing and one for film and TV productions. Finnvox Studios maintained for five decades their importance in the country, remaining the first choice in Finland for all the local record producers and companies.More recently, many metal bands used Finnvox Studios for recording, mixing or mastering their albums including Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Finntroll, Stratovarius, HIM, Moonsorrow, Holy Knights, Ram-Zet, Throes of Dawn, Grenouer, Apocalyptica and many more.The mastering abilities of technician Mika Jussila in particular are much requested in the metal community, with more than 1300 metal albums mastered at Finnvox since 1990.

Pitäjänmäki (Swedish: Sockenbacka) is a district located on the westernmost district of Helsinki, Finland, near the border with Espoo. There are many IT and machine manufacturing companies in the area, especially around the Valimo railway station. Such companies include Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks, ABB, Fujitsu Siemens, Digia, Martela as well as Nordea Bank, Stockmann Auto Oy and Sweco Industry Oy. Besides, the suburb also contains many residential apartment buildings. The nearest shopping mall is Sello in Leppävaara, Espoo. Pitäjänmäki hosts a famous designer jewellery manufacturing company called Kalevala Koru.

The Studio Aalto is a house in the Tiilimäki neighbourhood of Munkkiniemi, Helsinki, which Alvar Aalto designed during 1955–56 to be the studio of his architect bureau. Due to a large number of commissions, the office needed more space in which to work. The studio is said to be one of his best buildings from the 1950s. Near the studio there is also Villa Aalto, the home (and previous office) of the Aaltos. Both the studio and the Villa are now part of the Alvar Aalto Museum, and they are open to the public. The Alvar Aalto Academy and Alvar Aalto Museum Architectural Heritage Department are housed in Studio Aalto.

Pitäjänmäki station (Finnish: Pitäjänmäen rautatieasema, Swedish: Sockenbacka järnvägsstation) is a station on the Helsinki commuter rail network located in western Helsinki, Finland. It is located about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the northwest of the Helsinki Central Station in the district of Pitäjänmäki, and is situated between the stations of Valimo and Mäkkylä.

Vermo is the main harness racing track of Finland, opened in 1977. It is located in the Leppävaara district of Espoo, but is officially regarded as the racecourse of the neighbouring Helsinki. Length of the track is 1000 metres and width 24–26 metres. Notable race is Finlandia-Ajo.

Mäkkylä is a station on the VR commuter rail network, between the cities of Helsinki and Espoo in Finland. It is situated between Pitäjänmäki railway station and Leppävaara railway station and is about nine kilometres northwest of Helsinki Central railway station.

Munkkivuori (Swedish: Munkshöjden, literally 'Monk Mountain') is a quarter of the Munkkiniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki. The buildings and the plan of site are typical of the late 1950s. Most of the residential buildings in Munkkivuori are within a loop formed by Ulvilantie ring road. The automotive traffic to the residential buildings is routed along Ulvilantie whereas Raumantie no through road terminating in the center of the Ulvilantie loop provides access to public services and limits the through-traffic in residential areas. A designed network of crushed stone walkways provides easy accessibility around Munkkivuori for cyclists, pedestrians and other non-automotive traffic. Munkkivuoren ostoskeskus (Munkkivuori shopping centre), the first shopping centre in Finland, was built in 1959. The small shopping center, known as "Ostari" amongst the locals, is the focal point of Munkkivuori and is the home to some 40 companies. Many everyday services are available at the viable shopping center. These services include two grocery stores, a post office, a cafeteria, a nearby church, a couple of barber shops and fast food restaurants, one larger restaurant, a pharmacy, a privately owned health center, ATM, various bank branches, a bookstore and an Alko liquor store. There are three educational institutions in Munkkivuori; the Franco-Finnish school, the Munkkivuoren Ala-Aste comprehensive school and a pre-school with a kindergarten. A youth center is located in the same building with the pre-school. Helsinki City Transport buses number 14, 18, 18N, 39, 39B, 52, 57 and 500 provide public traffic connections to Munkkivuori. The Industrial zone of Pitäjänmäki limits Munkkivuori geographically in the North whereas the national road number 1 to Turku separates Munkkivuori from Vanha Munkkiniemi in the South. In the East, Huopalahdentie road draws a border between the neighbouring quarters of Niemenmäki and Etelä-Haaga. A footpath from Munkkiniemen puisto park to the mansion of Tali, excluding the mansion itself, lines the border of Munkkivuori in the West. Tali outdoor walking area with its sports facilities such as tennis, squash, soccer and bowling centers forms roughly half of Munkkivuori. All of the sports centers have indoors facilities providing all-year access to these sports. Additionally, outdoor soccer, tennis and rugby fields exist for summertime use. The soccer fields occupy a large area of Munkkivuori and are among the biggest in Helsinki. Both sand and grass soccer fields are available. Apart from the sports facility buildings there are no buildings in the outdoor area. The Tali 18-hole golf course is partially in Munkkivuori although the majority of the golf course resides in Tali quarter. The Tali allotment gardens, the main horse racing track of Finland, Vermo, and a couple of disc golf courses are in the vicinity of Munkkivuori.
