Minglanilla, officially the Municipality of Minglanilla (Cebuano: Lungsod sa Minglanilla; Tagalog: Bayan ng Minglanilla), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 151,002 people. Minglanilla is bordered to the north by the City of Talisay, to the west is the city of Toledo, to the east is the Cebu Strait, and to the south is the city of Naga. Minglanilla lies within Metro Cebu. It is known as the "Sugat Capital of the South". (Sugat in Cebuano means meeting.) The Kabanhawan (Cebuano for "Resurrection") festival is held annually on Easter Sunday. A big socio-religious event in Minglanilla is the Sugat, which attracts not only people from adjacent towns but also from Cebu city and further. On Black Saturday night, a public dance is held at the church plaza to witness the re‑enactment of the "meeting" of the risen Christ and his mother. Their images, borne on richly decorated carrozas, meet amidst joyous songs and the presence of child angels suspended by wires.

The Talisay City Science High School (Filipino: Mataas na Paaralang Pang-Agham ng Lungsod ng Talisay) is a public science high school system located in Cabaidog building, Jose Rizal Street, Poblacion, Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines. It was founded in June 7, 2004, and previously occupied the city college building. Currently it has its 3-9 building. It is a DepEd-recognized (Region VII -Central Visayas Division of Talisay City) Regional Science High School as a zone of peace (DepEd Order No. 44, s. 2005) under its head teacher Froilan "Froy" Delos Santos. In August 2024, Talisay Mayor Samsam Gullas handed over to TCSHC the P3 million Interactive Laboratory with experiment apparatus, “Learnytic Multimedia Kit”, robotics facility and an 85-inch computer monitor. The school introduced robotics subject in grade 8 following the victory of its 4 students in the Summer Robot Games International Open and Youth Robotics Convention 2024.

The De La Salle Andrés Soriano Memorial College, also known by its acronym DLSASMC, is a private Catholic Lasallian basic and higher education institution run by the De La Salle Brothers of the Philippine District of the Christian Brothers in Lutopan, Toledo, Cebu, Philippines. The Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Teresa de Avila, previously known as Santa Teresa de Avila Church, is a Roman Catholic church located in Talisay, Cebu, Philippines. Built in 1836 until 1848, architecturally, the church is in classical Graeco-Roman style, featuring the facade's two bell towers connected by a porch with two supporting columns on the foyer. On October 15, 2007, it was declared an archdiocesan shrine and pilgrims could receive plenary indulgence for a year.
