Brøndby Kommune (Danish: [ˈpʁɶnpy kʰoˈmuːnə]), a municipality (Danish: kommune) in the former Copenhagen County (now Region Hovedstaden), is on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 20.85 km2 (8.05 sq mi), and has a total population of 37,128 (2023). Its mayor Kent Max Magelund, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The site of its municipal council is the town of Brøndbyvester. Neighboring municipalities are Hvidovre to the east, Rødovre to the north, Glostrup to the north, Albertslund to the northwest, and Vallensbæk to the west. To the south is Køge Bay (Køge Bugt). The geography of Brøndby municipality was not affected by the nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007) on 1 January 2007.

Vestegnen is a term for a part of the former Copenhagen County, located west of Copenhagen. The area is defined as consisting of the municipalities of Rødovre, Hvidovre, Glostrup, Brøndby, Albertslund, Vallensbæk, Herlev, Ishøj and Høje-Taastrup and covers the area around some of the stations of the S-train, which are on the lines towards Høje Taastrup and Køge, and which are within the former Copenhagen County. The urban area of Hundige is often included due to its proximity to the rest of “Vestegnen” and the former terminus on the Køge Bugt-banen, but Hundige is located in Greve Municipality and thus neither in the former Copenhagen County nor the current Capital Region of Denmark. Common to the mentioned municipalities – except Vallensbæk Municipality – is that they have for long periods been led by mayors of Socialdemokratiet – in several cases with an absolute majority in the municipal council.The municipalities covered by the former Vestegnssamarbejde (Rødovre, Hvidovre, Glostrup, Brøndby, Albertslund, Vallensbæk, Ishøj and Høje-Taastrup) has a total population of 229,090 people, of which approximately 26.7% have an ethnic background other than Danish, as per 2018. This is more than twice as high as the national average of 13%. In Brøndby Strand, the number of people with other ethnic background than Danish was the highest, with 51%. Around 108,000 of the inhabitants are part of the labour force, but in the area there are around 136,000 jobs.Vestegnen also has a common history that is reminiscent of, or coincides with, Hedeboegnen – the area bounded by Køge Å in the south and Værebro Å in the north. Just as agriculture came to the area early, it disappeared late, and the villages remained as the primary settlement until World War II. Thereafter, the area was expanded rapidly to accommodate the growing and increasingly affluent population in the Capital Region of Denmark. Vestegnen is therefore characterised by very little forested area, except for Vestskoven, which was artificially created in 1967, and large areas with modern housing in which many of the old villages still exist. Since the area was agricultural land right up until World War II, there is not much old industry either – most industrial districts are from the 1960s, 70s or 80s.

Brøndbyhallen is an indoor arena located in Brøndby, Denmark, near Copenhagen. The arena holds 4,500 people.

The Capital Region (Danish: Hovedstadsregionen, pronounced [ˈhoːð̩stæðsʁekiˌoˀnn̩]) was the administrative name of the municipalities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg and the counties of Frederiksborg, Copenhagen, and Roskilde. It was replaced by the Capital Region of Denmark (Danish: Region Hovedstaden) as an administrative region on January 1, 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform. The new region includes the island of Bornholm (in the Baltic Sea 100 nautical miles from Copenhagen), and excludes the southwestern parts of Greater Copenhagen that were covered by Roskilde County. These southwestern areas are instead included in Region Zealand (Danish: Region Sjælland).

Vestvolden (Danish for 'the Western Rampart') is a rampart complex west of Copenhagen, Denmark. Stretching approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) from Avedøre in the south to Utterslev Mose in the north, it is part of the last generation of land fortifications of the city. Built in the period 1888–1892 by up to 2,000 workers, it was the largest construction project of its time in Denmark. Vestvolden was divided into two fortifications end to end, the southern one named Vestenceinten and the northern, much shorter one named Husumenceinten; the name Vestvolden emerged as an informal collective term for the two. The building of this fortification system began during the so-called "Provisorietiden" (the Provisional Time) 1885–1894. Under the Prime Minister who lacked a parliamentary majority but still refused to resign, J.B.S. Estrup. Instead this Prime Minister managed to enforce his annual Financial Laws, by bringing about King Christian IX's support for Provisional Financial Laws. This included support from the so-called Landstinget as well. The Landstinget was a smaller assembly of politicians, of which half of its members were chosen by the Monarch.Its use as fortification ceased in 1920. However, it continued to be used for military purposes, and was not opened to the public until 1963. Today, it is a recreational area, and has been a protected area since 1993.

Glostrup Kommune is a suburban municipality (Danish kommune) and town in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) approx. 10 km west of Copenhagen in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 13.31 km², and has a total population of 23,635 (2023). Its Zip code (Postnummer) is 2600. Its mayor as of 2022 is Kasper Damsgaard, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) political party. The municipality was established in 1841 following the municipal reforms of the 1840s, ranking as a parish municipality (sognekommune) until 1950 when suburbanisation of Copenhagen inhabited the municipality and the status was changed to town municipality (købstadskommune). From 1947 to 1960 the population in the municipality doubled due to the expanding suburbs of Copenhagen, reaching the municipality in the post-war period. Glostrup was designated as a new suburb along the western Tåstrup-finger of the Copenhagen Finger Plan of 1947. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Glostrup, home to three quarters of the population. Other towns in the municipality are Hvissinge and Ejby. Until 1974 the town of Avedøre also belonged to this municipality. Being an exclave, it was merged into the neighbouring Hvidovre Municipality. Neighboring municipalities are Rødovre to the east, Herlev and Ballerup to the north, Albertslund to the west, and Brøndby to the south. Glostrup was not merged with other municipalities on 1 January 2007, as the result of nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). The church of Glostrup originates from the 12th century.

Glostrup station is a commuter rail railway station serving the railway town/suburb of Glostrup west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the Høje Taastrup radial of Copenhagen's S-train network. It is located close to the historical, administrative and commercial centre of Glostrup Municipality, but also serves Brøndbyvester in Brøndby Municipality, whose boundary comes within a few hundred metres from the station. In front of the station is a major bus terminal from which local and express buses go in many directions. The station is connected to the nearby Glostrup Shopping Center via an underground walkway, the same walkway which is used to access the platforms. Glostup is one of the few remaining stations in Copenhagen that is an active rail freight destination. Sidings to industries west, south, and east of the station emerge from a small freight yard south of the long-distance tracks.

Brøndbyøster (Danish pronunciation: [ˈpʁɶnpyˌøstɐ]) is a Danish town in the Brøndby Municipality, in the Region Hovedstaden.

Hvissinge (or Hvessinge on some maps, though not in local signage) is a suburb approximately 13 km west of central Copenhagen. Originally a small village, but in the 1970s the town grew quickly along with Glostrup. It is part of Glostrup Municipality and situated 2 km north east of the city centre.

Espelundens Idrætsanlæg is an association football facility in Rødovre, Denmark. It is the home stadium of 2nd Division club Boldklubben Avarta and lower league side Islev Boldklub, who have their club house 100 m north of the stadium. The facility consists of the stadium, which has a capacity of 6,000 of which 460 are seated, the ground also includes a cafeteria, seven additional grass pitches, three gravel pitches, six mini pitches and a roller hockey rink. In January 2020 it was renamed Tømrermester Jim Jensens Park, after the naming rights were acquired by carpenter Jim Jensen, who renamed the stadium after himself.The additional grass pitches are used as reserve grounds for GIF Orient Fodbold.

Brøndbyøster station (Danish: Brøndbyøster Station, pronounced [ˈpʁɶnpyˌøstɐ stæˈɕoˀn]) is a commuter rail railway station serving the suburb of Brøndbyøster west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the Taastrup radial of Copenhagen's S-train network.

Svanholm Park is a cricket ground in Brøndby, Denmark. The ground was constructed following the need for Svanholm Cricket Klub to move from their ground next to the Brøndby Stadium due to Brøndby IF needing to build a new stand which would have encroached on the ground. Svanholm Park was constructed by 1999 and contains three cricket grounds. The grounds overlap one another, so when the centre ground is in use, neither of the grounds flanking it can be used. The grounds facilities also include a purpose built pavilion and indoor practice facilities. Th ground first saw action when Denmark played Pakistan Emerging Players in 1999. Later, a single List A match was held there in the 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy when Denmark played Northamptonshire. Denmark suffered a heavy defeat in this match. Batting first, they were dismissed for just 56, with Northamptonshire's Charl Pietersen taking figures of 7/10 from 8 overs. In reply, Northamptonshire knocked off the winning runs with just two wickets lost. This was the first major men's match to be played in Denmark. The national teams of the Netherlands, Bermuda, Finland and Norway have also played international matches at the ground. The ground hosted official Twenty20 International matches for the first time in July 2019, when Finland toured for a two-match series, which Denmark won 2–0.
