Maine Central School

Maine is a town in Broome County, New York, United States. The population was 5,377 at the 2010 census. The town is on the western border of the county and is northwest of Binghamton. Maine is home to Greater Binghamton Airport, serving Binghamton and the surrounding area.

The Cyrus Gates Farmstead is located in Maine, New York. Cyrus Gates was a cartographer and map maker for New York State, as well as an abolitionist. The great granddaughter of Cyrus-Louise Gates-Gunsalus has stated that from 1848 until the end of slavery in the United States in 1865, the Cyrus Gates Farmstead was a station or stop on the Underground Railroad (Woodward 1973). Its owners, Cyrus and Arabella Gates, were outspoken abolitionists as well as active and vital members of their community. Historian Shirley L. Woodward states that through those years escaped slaves came through the Gates' station. One runaway female slave, a 16-year-old girl named Margaret "Marge" Cruizer was so comfortable with the Gates family that she decided to stay at their station and live with them. Marge ended up spending the rest of her life with the Gates and is buried in the cemetery next to the house. (Woodward 1973 pp 52–53). Margaret was also known as the wife of Thomas "Old Bay Tom" Crocker. Mr. Crocker was famous for being the first African-American to be elected as mayor of Binghamton, New York, albeit a protest vote that was reversed in the election of 1872. (Smith 2014).

Union is a town in Broome County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town had a total population of 56,346. The name derives from the town having served as a rendezvous for the Sullivan Expedition. The town is in the south-central part of the county, west of Binghamton. The communities of Union form the western suburbs of Binghamton. Two communities, the villages of Johnson City and Endicott, along with Binghamton, make up the "Triple Cities."

Highland Park Carousel, also known as En-Joie Park Carousel and Ideal Park Carousel, is a historic carousel located at Endwell in Broome County, New York. The carousel was purchased between 1920 and 1925 and moved to its present site in 1967. It was previously located in Ideal Park (later En-Joie Park). The carousel is housed in a wooden, one story, 16-sided, enclosed pavilion. The carousel has 36 figures: 34 horses, one pig and one dog, each of which is a "jumper," and two chariots. It was constructed by the Allan Herschell Company. It is one of six carousels donated to the citizens of Broome County by George F. Johnson (1857–1948), president of Endicott Johnson Corporation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Binghamton Metropolitan Statistical Area, also called Greater Binghamton or the Triple Cities, is a region of southern Upstate New York in the Northeastern United States, anchored by Binghamton. The MSA encompasses Broome and Tioga counties, which together had a population of 247,138 as of the 2020 census. From 1963 to 1983, the MSA also included neighboring Susquehanna County in Pennsylvania, part of which still falls in the Binghamton, NY–PA Urban Area. In addition to these three counties, the greater region includes parts of Delaware and Chenango counties in New York; portions of Cortland and Otsego counties in New York and Wayne County, Pennsylvania are sometimes considered part of the region as well. Using the definition of a 30-mile radius from Binghamton, the population as of the 2010 census is 317,331.The Greater Binghamton name was adopted in the early 21st century to better identify the region with its most well-known city in efforts of marketing and external promotion. The metropolitan area is located in the Southern Tier of New York State and lies on Pennsylvania's northern border, approximately 66 miles (110 km) south of Syracuse, New York.

Glen Aubrey is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the town of Nanticoke in Broome County, New York, United States. Its population was 446 at the 2020 census.

George W. Johnson Park Carousel is a historic carousel located at Endicott in Broome County, New York. The carousel and its pavilion were built in 1934. St. Joseph School was a Catholic school in Endicott, New York. 2009 was its final year of operation.

Greater Binghamton Airport (IATA: BGM, ICAO: KBGM, FAA LID: BGM) is a county-owned American airport eight miles north of Binghamton, in Broome County, New York. It is in East Maine, New York and serves the Southern Tier of New York. The airport was named Broome County Airport through the 1970s. It was renamed Edwin A. Link Field-Broome County Airport to honor the inventor of the aircraft instrument simulator, the Link Trainer, a name it kept until the 1990s when it was again renamed as Binghamton Regional Airport. The name Greater Binghamton Airport was chosen in 2003. The field is still named in Link's honor. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year). Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 108,325 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 98,090 in 2009 and 108,988 in 2010.

WBNW-FM (105.7 MHz) branded as "Now 105-7", is a class B top 40 (CHR) radio station in Binghamton, New York. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. It is the primary entry point of the Emergency Alert System in central New York state.

WBBI (107.5 FM, "New Country B107.5") is a commercial radio station licensed to Endwell, New York, and serving the Greater Binghamton area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia and broadcasts a country music format. The station's studios are located in Vestal, and its transmitter is on Robinson Hill Road in Endicott.

Endwell is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the town of Union in Broome County, New York, United States. Its population was 11,446 at the 2010 census.Endwell is situated between the villages of Endicott and Johnson City. It is west of Binghamton and is considered a suburb of that city. Endwell is also the home of a popular local park, Highland Park, well known in the area for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display as well as its classic carousel. Although most children residing in Endwell that attend public schools are served through the Maine-Endwell School District, some attend the Union-Endicott School District.
