Great Neck Village High School (also known as Village School or VS) is an American long-established public alternative school. It is a member of Coalition of Essential Schools and is located in the village of Great Neck, New York, serving students in grades 8 through 12. Village School is one of three high schools in the Great Neck School District, which includes Great Neck North High School and Great Neck South High School. Village School offers its 39 students an outdoor education program, college preparatory program, and inclusion of students with disabilities.Co-founder Arnie Langberg has been called "one of the most important pioneers in the field of public alternative education."Village School is home to the newspaper 'The Villager.As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 48 students and 6.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.0:1. There were 3 students (6.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Founded in 1928, it is the oldest synagogue in Great Neck.As of 2009, it had a membership of 875 families. Since 2009, the senior rabbis have been Meir and Tara Feldman. Their cantor is Adam Davis. Their cantor emerita is Lisa Hest, the mother of singer-songwriter Ari Hest.

Miller Great Neck North High School or simply "Great Neck North," is a public high school, including grades 9 through 12, in the village of Great Neck, New York, operated by the Great Neck School District. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,172 students and 105.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1. There were 198 students (16.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 20 (1.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The school building was designed by the noted architectural firm of Guilbert and Betelle. According to Newsweek magazine's 2015 list of "America's Best High Schools," Great Neck North High School was ranked 105th. The school is on Polo Road, about a mile and a half from the LIRR Railroad station.

Great Neck Gardens (also known as Allenwood) is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located on the Great Neck Peninsula in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, United States. The population was 1,186 at the 2010 census. As an unincorporated hamlet, it is governed by the Town of North Hempstead. The hamlet's name is rarely used in part because of how the area was never incorporated.

Grace and Thomaston Buildings are two historic commercial buildings located at Great Neck Plaza in Nassau County, New York. The Grace Building was built in 1914 and the Thomaston Building in 1926. They were both built by the W. R. Grace and Company.

The Ben Rebhuhn House was built in Great Neck Estates, New York in 1937. This home is the only home on Long Island designed by Frank Lloyd Wright at the request of Benjamin and Anne Rebhuhn, publishers of progressive content. This house is similar to the Ernest Vosburgh House in Grand Beach, Michigan, except that this house is in the Usonian style while the Vosburgh residence, built 21 years earlier, was in the Prairie style. The house follows a cruciform plan. The house features a two-story living room and is built from tidewater red cypress board and batten inside and out, with brick and red roof tile. Notable owners of the house have included Texas oil heiress Diane Reid.

The incorporated village of Great Neck had a population of 9,989 at the 2010 census, while the larger Great Neck area comprises a residential community of some 40,000 people in nine villages and hamlets in the town of North Hempstead, of which Great Neck is the northwestern quadrant. Great Neck has five ZIP Codes (11020–11024), which are united by a park district, one library district, and one school district. The hamlets are census-designated places that consolidate various unincorporated areas. They are statistical entities and are not recognized locally. However, there are locally recognized neighborhoods within the hamlet areas, such as Harbor Hills, Saddle Rock Estates, University Gardens, and Manhasset. The Manhasset neighborhood (in ZIP Code 11030) is not considered part of Great Neck. The part of the Hamlet of Manhasset that is considered part of Great Neck includes the Great Neck Manor neighborhood. Great Neck Gardens is featured on many maps as a name of one such hamlet, even as the name is used rarely if ever by local residents.

Great Neck is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Washington Branch in Great Neck Plaza, New York. It is the westernmost station on the branch in Nassau County. The station is located at Middle Neck Road and Station Plaza at Great Neck Road, 0.25 miles (0.40 km) north of Northern Boulevard and 15.9 miles (25.6 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. From just east of the station, the line becomes single track to Port Washington.
