The East Side, as the name implies, is a neighborhood in the eastern section of the New York State city of Binghamton. It is primarily an urban residential neighborhood with retail along Court and Robinson streets and pockets of industry scattered along the train tracks. The East Side can be defined as encompassing the area north of the Susquehanna River, east of the Brandywine Highway (NY-7), downtown and the North Side, west of the town of Kirkwood and south of the Quickway, (NY-17)/(I-81). The area's "main drag" is Court Street which runs just north of the Norfolk Southern tracks and the Susquehanna River. It connects the Eastside directly to Downtown Binghamton and Kirkwood. The New York State Inebriate Asylum is located just west of the Kirkwood Town Line at the foot of Robinson Street. The Cameo Theater is a New York State landmark located on Robinson Street on the East Side.

McIntosh Laboratory is an American manufacturer of handcrafted high-end audio equipment headquartered in Binghamton, New York. It is a subsidiary of McIntosh Group which is under the ownership umbrella of Highlander Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm.The company was co-founded in 1949 by Frank H. McIntosh & Gordon Gow. McIntosh Labs designs and produces audio amplifiers, stereo tuners, loudspeakers, turntables, music streamers, processors, and various other audio products. Although solid state components are a large segment of the McIntosh line, audio enthusiasts most revere the warm sound of the company's tube amplifiers. Some of their tube amplifiers rank among the finest ever created for home audio and theater use. Their Unity Coupled Circuit, patented at the brand's inception, is still used today in products like their MC275 amplifier, whose vacuum tubes—used in many of the company's products—help to impart a lifelike warmth and soul to the sound. "McIntosh transformers are hand-wound in house as they've always been" according to McIntosh president, Charlie Randall. Many of the employees working at the Binghamton plant have been with the company for decades and number approximately 170+ as of June, 2022.McIntosh Laboratory revenue was $25 million and $42 million in 2021 and 2022 respectively. McIntosh audio products can usually be recognized by their black glass front panels (circa 1960's to present), iconic blue VU meters (circa 1974 to present), and iconic gothic logo. Even the Mcintosh factory has a black facade with blue tinted windows to align with the company's trademark theme.

The New York State Inebriate Asylum, later known as Binghamton State Hospital, was the first institution designed and constructed to treat alcoholism as a mental disorder in the United States. Located in Binghamton, NY, its imposing Gothic Revival exterior was designed by New York architect Isaac G. Perry and construction was completed in 1864. The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1997. In 2015, Binghamton University announced it had taken stewardship of the building and will proceed with plans for rehabilitation of the building.

Mirabito Stadium (formerly known as Binghamton Municipal Stadium and NYSEG Stadium) is a stadium located in the northern section of downtown Binghamton, New York. It is home to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies of the Eastern League. Construction began in July 1991 after it was announced that the Williamsport Bills would be moving from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The ballpark opened the following season, in April 1992, and has a seating capacity of 6,012 fans. The stadium is named for Mirabito Energy Products, a local chain of gas stations and convenience stores, and was given the name in 2021.

The Phelps Mansion, formerly known as The Monday Afternoon Clubhouse, is a three-story brick and stone mansion located on Court Street in Binghamton, New York. It was built in 1870 as the private home of Sherman D. Phelps. Mr. Phelps was a successful businessman, banker, Republican elector for Abraham Lincoln, and mayor of the City of Binghamton. The building was designed by Isaac G. Perry who later became the chief architect for the New York State Capitol building in Albany, New York. The mansion was purchased in 1905 by the Monday Afternoon Club, a women's civic organization. The club constructed a large ballroom on the back of the mansion in 1905 and continues to hold its weekly meetings there to this day. In 1986, ownership of the mansion was transferred to The Phelps Mansion Foundation. The Phelps Mansion was charted by the New York State Board of Regents as a museum in 2005.The Monday Afternoon Club disbanded in 2006 and transferred the ownership of the home and contents to the Phelps Mansion Museum. The Museum remains open and offers a variety of programs and regularly scheduled guided tours. Guided tours of the museum are offered Friday to Saturday 11am to 5pm. Last tour at 4:30pm. Visitors are asked to enter through the ballroom doors located down the driveway side of the mansion (look for the open flag).

The North Side is a neighborhood in northern section of the New York State city of Binghamton. It is a mixed-use urban neighborhood with commercial and industrial businesses many times occupying sections of residential blocks. The North Side can be defined as encompassing the area north of the Norfolk Southern tracks and Downtown Binghamton, east of the Chenango River and the First Ward, west of the East Side of Binghamton and a small portion of the town of Dickinson and south of the village of Port Dickinson of the town of Dickinson along Bromley Avenue. The area's "main drag" is Chenango Street. It forms the neighborhood's "spine," running on a north-south axis, starting at the Broome County Courthouse in downtown and continuing north into the neighboring communities. The neighborhood is also served by the partially limited-access Brandywine Highway which carries (NY-7).

The Alfred Dunk House (also known as the Brinker House) is a historic house located in Binghamton, Broome County, New York.

Railroad Terminal Historic District is a national historic district in Binghamton in Broome County, New York. The district includes 19 contributing buildings. Four of the buildings were directly related to Binghamton's rail passenger and freight operations, including the passenger station. Five buildings were built as warehouses, and ten were built to house retail activities with residential or office uses on the upper floors. The buildings were built between 1876 and 1910, with a major addition to one of them completed in 1932. This Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad passenger station, with its Italian Renaissance campanile, was built in 1901. For most years of passenger service to Binghamton, Delaware and Hudson Railway and Erie Railroad trains used a different station 150 yards away.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

WXXW-LP (channel 6) was a low-power television station in Binghamton, New York, United States. The station was owned by the Johnson Broadcasting Company (unrelated to the Houston-based broadcaster). WXXW-LP operated as a "Franken-FM," an analog television station that took advantage of the NTSC standard, in which the audio feed can be tuned in on any analog FM radio at the proper frequency; for channel 6, the frequency is 87.75 MHz, just below the FM band. As such, WXXW-LP was programmed as a radio station at 87.7 with an urban oldies format billed as "Passion Radio." WXXW-LP ceased broadcasting on or shortly before July 13, 2021, the date set by the Federal Communications Commission for all remaining low-power television stations to cease broadcasting in analog. Johnson Broadcasting Company held a construction permit to return to the air on the same channel 6. WXXW-LP's license was canceled on July 8, 2022, due to the station failing to file an application for digital operation prior to the expiration of its construction permit.

The Islamic Awareness Center, also known as Masjid Al-Tawheed (Arabic: مسجد التوحيد), is a mosque and Dawah institution for the purpose of Islamic proselytization in Binghamton, New York. Since 2011, the Islamic Awareness Center has been located in the historic former building of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. In 2010, after the Good Shepherd congregation left the Episcopal Church as part of the Anglican realignment and lost a lawsuit to keep its property, the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York controversially sold the building for far less than its appraised value to the Islamic Awareness Center rather than to the departing Anglican congregation.

Binghamton Railway Company Complex is a historic railway complex located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Government Plaza is a building complex in Binghamton, New York containing the offices for the City of Binghamton, Broome County and New York State. The complex is located in Downtown Binghamton on the block bounded by State, Hawley, Isbell and Susquehanna streets. It was constructed as part of a massive urban renewal plan in Binghamton through the late 1960s and early 1970s. Government Plaza is composed of three buildings which come together to form a U-shaped complex: the towering 18-story State Office Building, which is the tallest building in the Southern Tier region of New York the Edwin L. Crawford County Office Building, which forms the east-wing of the complex Binghamton City Hall, which forms the west-wing.The complex includes an underground two-level parking structure. An elevated plaza that originally led to the second-story lobby of the State Office Building was torn down in the mid-1990s due to deterioration and increasing maintenance costs.
