Rampart Range

Devils Head is a mountain summit in the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The 9,749-foot (2,971 m) peak is located in Pike National Forest, 14.2 miles (22.9 km) southwest by south (bearing 210°) of the community of Sedalia in Douglas County, Colorado, United States.

Devil's Head Lookout is a U.S. Forest Service fire lookout tower at the summit of Devils Head in Douglas County, Colorado. Located on a large pinnacle of Pikes Peak granite, the fire lookout point lies within the Pike National Forest and is accessed by hiking the Devils Head National Recreation Trail. The station was first established in 1912, with the original tower built in 1919. In the summer of 1951, the old tower was dismantled and current structure was built. In 1991, Devil's Head Lookout was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Sitting at the highest point of Rampart Range, the fire lookout is the last remaining such structure to be in service along the Front Range of Colorado. The view from the current structure extends at least 100 miles in every direction on clear days. The lookout (elev. 9748 feet, or 2971 m) can be accessed via easy/moderate trail (2.8 miles, or 4.5 km round trip) with elevation gain of 951 feet, or 290 m. The last stretch is a climb on 143 stairs. The access is from Rampart Range Road, a 14.5-km dirt road (easily accessible by passenger cars) from CO67. Note that the road to the trailhead is always closed to vehicles during the winter and typically does not open until April or May.

Perry Park is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Perry Park CDP was 1,932 at the United States Census 2020. The Perry Park Metropolitan District and the Perry Park Water & Sanitation District provide services. The Larkspur post office (Zip Code 80118) serves the area.

KJMN (92.1 FM, "La Suavecita 92.1") is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish adult hits format licensed to Castle Rock, Colorado, United States, serving the Denver-Boulder area. The station is currently owned by Entravision Holdings, LLC. Its studios are located in Denver near Sports Authority Field at Mile High, and the transmitter is west of Castle Rock.

The John Kinner House, in Douglas County, Colorado near Sedalia, Colorado, was built in 1896. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.It is a two-story house with a one-story wing to the rear, built of squared sandstone quarried by John Kinner, who came to Colorado alone as a young man from Rock Island, Illinois. He was a teamster on the Old Santa Fe Trail before establishing his large and successful ranch in the Plum Creek Valley. His family was originally from Scotland. He married Elizabeth Field who was the adopted daughter of Sarah Coberly (the mother-in-law of Silas Soule). The five high and narrow bays on the main facade reflect German style.It is located at 6694 Perry Park Rd.

The Reginald Sinclaire House, at 6154 Perry Park Rd. in Larkspur, Colorado, was built in 1932. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.It was a home of Reginald Sinclaire (b.1893), an aviator who is a member of the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame. Sinclaire was a member of the Lafayette Flying Corps (of Americans flying for the French) during World War I and earned three Croix de Guerre medals with Palms.The listing includes five contributing buildings, three non-contributing buildings, and five contributing structures. The main house was built in 1931–32 in Pueblo Revival style. It is located on the crest of a hill, up a mile-long driveway from Perry Park Road. It is a two-story single-family house which served from 1932 to 1965 as home and main house for Sinclaire's 4,500 acres (18 km2) horse ranch.

The North Fork South Platte River is a tributary of the South Platte River, approximately 50 miles (80 km) long, in central Colorado in the United States. The river is located near the headwaters of the South Platte in the Rocky Mountains southwest of Denver, draining a rugged area of the Front Range just south of the basin of Clear Creek. It rises at the continental divide near Webster Pass (Colorado) in northwestern Park County, flows through a canyon to the southeast, and is joined by Geneva Creek at the town of Grant. Downstream from Grant it is followed by U.S. Highway 285 until Bailey, where it cuts through a remote section of the foothills. It joins the South Platte from the west at the lower end of the Platte Canyon in the mountains approximately 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Denver. The lower part of the river is flanked by several small mountain communities, including Buffalo Creek and Foxton, in the extended geographic region of the Platte Canyon. The basin of the river is separated from South Park to the south by Kenosha Pass. The lower 10 miles (16 km) of the river form part of the boundary between Jefferson and Douglas counties.

Dawson Butte, elevation 7,474 ft (2,278 m), is a flat-topped mountain in Douglas County, Colorado. Adjacent to the mountain is the Dawson Butte Open Space, owned by Douglas County and managed by the County's Division of Open Space and Natural Resources. The mountain and open space are located about five miles south of Castle Rock.The publicly accessible portion of the open space covers 828 acres. A five-mile-long trail loops around the open space property. The trail is open to hikers, horseback riders, snowshoers, and mountain bikers. Dogs are allowed provided they are leashed. An old bridle path remains on the property, and some of the jumps are still set up.There is no public access to the top of the butte.

Roxborough State Park is a state park of Colorado, United States, known for dramatic red sandstone formations. Located in Douglas County 20 miles (32 km) south of Denver, Colorado, the 3,339-acre (13.51 km2) park was established in 1975. In 1980 it was recognized as a National Natural Landmark.

The Church of St. Philip-in-the-Field and Bear Canon Cemetery is a historic church building and cemetery in Sedalia, Colorado. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It is a white frame clapboard building, with a 22 by 30 feet (6.7 m × 9.1 m) nave built in 1872 of rough lumber hauled over a difficult trail.Saint Philip in-the-field Episcopal church has been at this location since 1888, but construction on the church dates back all the way to 1872. In that year, trustees at the newly formed Bear Cañon Methodist Congregation commissioned Newton S. Grout, a former drummer boy for the Union Army, to construct the first church of Douglas County. As the main carpenter of the church's construction, he wished to fashion its design after a smaller church in Maine where he had worshipped as a child. With plenty of initial money and labor donated to the construction, the exterior was quickly finished, but a later lack of funding prevented the completion of the inside. Despite this setback, the church opened that same year, using planks supported by boxes as pews and was used by various faiths. In 1884, the long-delayed interior building was resumed but didn't last very long when a man posing as a Methodist minister disappeared with the $600 of fundraising money meant for the church's construction. Two years later in 1886, Bishop Reverend William Spaulding of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado traded St. Mark's Church in Bergen Park (modern-day Evergreen) for the unfinished church. William Curtis and John Harris were put in charge to supervise the construction. Curtis drew the plans and Harris worked as the carpenter, and when the work was completed, the interior included a sanctuary, sacristy, vestibule, pews, chancel, altar, communion rail, and brick chimney. The church was dedicated to Saint Philip in-the-field and held its opening services on December 23, 1888. The surrounding Bear Cañon cemetery was established in 1870, and the first still identifiable graves were laid in 1874 in the Northwest corner of the cemetery. By the 1970s, five generations of families and veterans from five wars had been buried in the cemetery. The mission center behind the church was built in 1970. On April 11, 1973, both the church and cemetery were placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
